Group urging Obama to visit ailing Limbaugh
The Pray at the Pump Movement, which gained notice recently when it helped to organize a prayer vigil for Tiger Woods, now is urging President Barack Obama to visit conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh in the hospital.
Limbaugh was resting comfortably on Thursday after suffering chest pains while vacationing in Hawaii, according to a statement on the Web site of his radio program. Obama, Limbaugh’s principal target, is also vacationing in Hawaii.
The Pray at the Pump Movement, which describes Limbaugh as Obama’s “enemy,” is “strongly urging” a visit.
"It is the right and Christian thing to do," said Rockville resident Rocky Twyman, founder of the group that says its prayers and activism lowered gas prices in the country. “These actions would be unpopular in the Democratic Party, but may help to unite the country as we approach a New Year full of endless possibilities of peace."
“”Because the movement to lower gas was national in scope, we have prayer warriors in Hawaii that are ready to offer powerful prayers at a session where both men are present,” the group says in a release. “This small gesture could be the beginning of the start of a Glorious Revolution of Peace.”

Obama should not visit the fat Nazi gas-bag. 2009 was a very bad year that could have only been improved if we woke up today to the newspaper headline, "Rush Limbaugh Dies, Goes to Hell".

Rush Limbaugh is not someone who deserves to be visited by the President of the United States.
What these people should really be praying for is for every American to have access to the same high quality health care that a very rich man like Rush Limbaugh does.
Why should only rich people be able to "rest comfortably" after having a heart attack? Is it "Christian" for everyone else to either not get the health care they need or to go broke getting it?

Little Robert.
I'll wish everything that you wish for Rush to be returned to yo' prezidunt Obambo in spades.... no pun intended
Posted by: Alexander | December 31, 2009 12:12 PM
So these christian conservatives want Obama to be visited by Obama, who, according to Rush, is a communist dictator terrorist? Seems to me they are validating communist by wanting that visit.
Posted by: robthomaseyes | December 31, 2009 12:17 PM
Right and Christian?!
Are you guys serious?
What are you trying to do to Limbaugh? Kill him?
If Obama shows up in his hospital room, Rush'll have another heart attack for sure.
Posted by: B | December 31, 2009 12:20 PM
I think he should visit Rush...take the high road, and perhaps promote some civility.
Posted by: Lars | December 31, 2009 12:26 PM
Now, if there was ever a time when the President could show strong leadership, it would be with a visit to his "enemy."
Obama could do nothing but win by showing his compassion as well as building a possible foundation with Limbaugh. (and his followers)
This could be a big plus for the President if he plays his cards right.
Posted by: sfxd | December 31, 2009 12:26 PM
sfxd - And how do you think the Right-wing nut-jobs (Beck, Hannity......), would interpret a visit by Obama to the corpulent consumer of bakeries? Not as taking the high ground, but as a fawning tribute to a great man. The only thing great about Rush "Hindenburg like" Limbaugh, is his girth and gall.
Posted by: Robert Littel | December 31, 2009 12:36 PM
correction to your story,
rush is not Obama's enemy.... but Obama is rush's enemy...
Posted by: TeXan | December 31, 2009 12:44 PM
This is silly. Obama has much more important things to do.
Posted by: laughing | December 31, 2009 12:45 PM
Robert – President Obama shouldn't visit him. I dislike everything about Limbaugh, but that was a bit extreme even for you. Wishing somebody dead and going to hell. That certainly doesn't sound like something an intelligent and enlightened person would write. I’m sure you’ll respond and accuse me of being a supporter in denial or something equally delusional. Before you do that, however, ask yourself what would you say to someone if he wished the same thing for an atheist.

The rift between the President and Rush goes much farther than differences about the government presuming to make it a law that everybody must buy medical insurance (called universal health care). The division will not be mended until transparency rules in our government. We may, and should pray about this, but when deception rules, God is thrust outside the door of the heart.

The latest word out of Hawaii is barry wont be visiting El Rushbo because barrys handlers couldnt fit the teleprompter into the room.
God Speed Rush!
Posted by: whosebone | December 31, 2009 1:05 PM
If Obama payed him a visit, it might just be the push Rush's heart needs to shuffle off his girthy mortal coil.
Posted by: Chris | December 31, 2009 1:07 PM
RUSH IS RIGHT! Personally Obama doesn't have the courage to face Rush. It is a miracle most of America isn't hospitalized with chest pains as we watch the trashing of our Country and Fumbling and Bumbling of this current administration try to play President.
Posted by: sherry harvey | December 31, 2009 1:09 PM
They are political enemies not human enemies. No matter which side of the political spectrum you fall on, wishing someone else ill isn't right and that is simple. The President should at the very least send Rush a note wishing him well. Maybe not a visit but certainly a well wish. That would show class and style. Too many nuts with computers and opinions that they think matter. ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SPECTRUM!

If Obama visits Rush in the Hospital, I hope Rush offers a prayer for him. Obama needs it.
Posted by: Nikos | December 31, 2009 1:45 PM
Anyone listening to Limbaugh's ranting lately should not be surprised that this fathead nearly 'stroked out'. Limbaugh's stay in the 'Birther' hospital will only provide more fuel to the conspiracy mongers who rule the Republican party.

All these Limbaugh demonizers and naysayersd prove the well recognized adage that if you dont like the message trash the messenger and even wsth him to die.But never ever listen and digest the message

I'd be interested to see where Obama's plummeting approval numbers would go if he made such a gesture. My twin sons (Rush and Reagan) and I will pray for Mr. Limbaugh's speedy recovery!!
Posted by: James Beeson | December 31, 2009 2:15 PM
Get well soon, El Rushbo! Thank goodness you can get care now before Adolf ... oops, I mean Barry controls who can and cannot seek help.
And I hope Obama still fails.
Posted by: Barney Miller | December 31, 2009 2:19 PM
President Obama visit Rush in the hospital, that is a joke. That is like saying Ronald Reagan should have visited Howard Stern. Although I do wish Rush a speedy revovery let's remember he is just a bloated radio personality. To even mention him in the same sentence as the President shows just how out of touch the right wing is.
Posted by: Blue Dog | December 31, 2009 2:20 PM
I hope that President Obama visits Mr. Limbaugh in the hospital, if he feels good about doing so. It would symbolize hope for healing the wounds caused by hate in our country. Mr. Limbaugh is a purveyor of hate, and a compassionate gesture on the part of the President would be awesome.
Posted by: Jon Enderlin | December 31, 2009 2:29 PM
Robert Little you are a gas bag yourself!!!! There is no way a good, decent, patriotic American like Rush should be subjected to a visit by Obama!!!!!! That would be like an ailing Jew being visited by Hitler, not good for the health at all. But I am not surprised by your hate speach, your liberal after all!!!!!! Happy new year!
Posted by: Turk | December 31, 2009 2:49 PM
Rush is a cancer to America. I've already lost enough respect for President Obama and the Democrats after they caved in to fat pigs like him on healthcare. A visit by the leader of the free world to a fat, mean spirited, drug addicted college dropout would be the final nail in the coffin as far as Obama's approval ratings with actual progressives.
Posted by: Otto | December 31, 2009 2:57 PM
I'll give the President the long hat pin if he would promise to stick it in the windbag and deflate him!!A president would never lower himself--no0t even a Republican!! Particularly when a person is in the messy state of drug withdrawl--but then it might to be nice to document Limbaugh incontinence!!

I am a liberal and I hate anyone and everyone that doesn't think like I do. I don't want god in the schools or government. I believe that government should take all of the wealth accumulated by the top 10% and distribute it to the lower 50%. I hope y that Rush Limbaugh and everyone like him dies a quick and swift death. Long live Liberalism!!!!!!!!

Get well Rush!!!!!
We definetely need your voice now.

Bingo! we have a winner.
or President Obama could just send a nice box of artery clogging chocolates to his room. Im sure "Tommy Boy" Limbaugh wont be able to resist. Problem solved.

The changes in the lungs may not have been due to swine flu.
Air pollution can cause the exact same kinds of lung damage. Did anyone "confirm by testing" that those who died from the lung damage actually had "swine flu?"

Obama isn't classy enough to take advantage of such an opportunity to make himself look like a big person instead of his usual small, petty self. And you liberal posters so full of hatred are amazing. Wishing ill on another human being is bad karma, don't ya know? Of course, why would it surprise me, youwere equally venomous toward President Bush 43. I would expect such hatred from Obama's "other" constituency, though.....Radical Islamic terrorists!

Right. President Obama visiting Rush Limrude in the hospital. One doesn't take coals to Newcastle.

Do we hate Limbaugh? Damn right we do, because he earned it. I find it most interesting that the dupes representing the Right-wing here, seem to think we owe the elements that are using our system to funnel 1/2 of all wealth to the few at the top (1/2 of all wealth sits in the pockets of 4000 people) any kind of respect at all, they are THIEVES, and in as much as none of them commenting here are even close to being part of that august group, we are dealing with underling, clueless pawns who are being used, abused and they are far too stupid to realize it. Rush Limbaugh is a waste of skin and oxygen. The sooner he is out of the picture, the better.

Rush Obese Bah Lim Bah,
A gas bag of huge proportion,
Yells on his show,
With monstrous gusto,
Assuming there's no repercussion-
But when he clutches his chest,
And falls over his desk,
His pounding heart in percussion,
Poetic justice socks him right in the eye,
With triumphant comeuppance.
I hope Glen Beck is next in line

I'm appalled to see the comments by the people who hate Mr. Limaugh. If Obama were ill or in the hospital I don't presume he would care for a visit from Rush.
When the president hapens to be in the same vicinity of a prominent citizen such as Rush, it would seem to be appropriate if Mr. Obama deigned to at least offer to visit. I'm sure neither man wishes the other to die, as so many have suggested in here.
As for Mr. Littel et al: I am not a "dupe, clueless pawn, stupid" or any other negative hateful adjective you attach to those who do not support your views. Your words articulate a self-righteous false intelligence that is so common in those of your ilk.
What could it hurt for Obama to visit Rush? Can't you see how it can only help Obama to gain respect from those who oppose him? Such a simple charitable act could be a beginning for healing of differences. Put aside your hate.
This site is called "In Good Faith". It would be beautiful to see something like this take place. It is such a unique opportunity.
Posted by: Gary Gaertner | January 1, 2010 12:35 AM
Maybe Wiley Drake's imprecatory prayer missed Obama and hit Rush instead.
Posted by: Jim | January 1, 2010 1:34 AM
Sounds like the Pray at the Pump Movement has delusions of grandeur to me. Its prayers lowered gas prices? Why not pray that Tiger Woods dates a woman with darker hair like Eleanor Roosevelt? Glory seekers arent doing it for God but for themselves and are misleading others from true worship the way God wants it.

I see Rush's ignorant, racist, listeners are here showing their usual lack of class.
Posted by: Michael | January 1, 2010 9:37 AM
You know, you freaking lefties are showing the world just how truly hateful and intolerant you ALL are. Remember this. And when that steaming pile of socialist hate Chris Matthews self destructs, see if you hear the same kind of hate speech from the right.
You won't. Want to know why? Because we just don't waste our time with him.

Michael - They actually think their neo-fascist, jingo-patriotism is a political position that requires our respect. The only thing they deserve is the same treatment the Brown Shirts should have been given in late 1920s Germany, because they represent the same mentality and the same threat to democratic principles. They are stupid and should be treated as such.

Spoken like a good little left wing liberal nut job. Where'd you get your information at a communist party meeting or socialst one? You are no better then those you attack. Anyone wishing harm or death on another is a bigger pile of manure than Limabugh could ever be and that's saying a=something.

Fake Anonymous - Last I heard, hating evil was a positive attribute. Rush Limbaugh is the definition of Evil, but I wouldn't expect a doctrinaire Right-wing reactionary like yourself, to agree with the proven truth of that statement.
Posted by: Robert Littel | January 4, 2010 3:59 PM
Fake Robert Littel - Limbaugh is a nut job but that doesn't make him evil. You're a nut job and you aren't evil either. Only extremist view those who don't share their ideals as evil. The only proven truth is you are just as bad as Limbaugh so using your logic I guess you are both evil.
Posted by: Anonymous | January 5, 2010 5:39 PM
Fake Anonymous (the Fake being added to differentiate you from Ravensfan Anonymous, who was the original Anonymous until you took it too) - Rush Limbaugh is a doctrinaire, ultra rich (by the miracle of stupid people making him saleable), bigoted, blowhard crown prince of the politics of hate. Because he has a forum that influences such a large following of dolt like brainless automatons (aka "ditto-heads), he is able to negatively influence the marginally functional idiots who unfortunately think they are intelligent enough to vote, this has earned Limbaugh the label of "Evil".
Posted by: Robert Littel | January 5, 2010 7:00 PM
Robert Littel - In other words because he is able to convince people to take positions you don't support that makes him evil. You practice poltics of hate yourself so as I already said if we use your thinking then you are evil as well.
Posted by: Anonymous | January 8, 2010 3:23 PM
Fake Anonymous - Because he is in a position to, and does push, ideas that more resemble those espoused by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, is what makes him evil. That people like you buy the pant load of rubbish that flows from the seemingly wrong end of his sixty (+ no doubt) feet of digestive tract, is just stupid.
Posted by: Robert Littel | January 8, 2010 5:19 PM
Too bad when Rush was in the hospital that he didn't suffer a massive stroke so that he could not speak or move any part of his body or eyes. Trapped in hell is what he deserves.
Posted by: Lucky | January 17, 2010 11:58 AM
Robert Littel - Being in a position to push something doesn't make you evil. It does give you power. Do not assume because I point out your own narrow minded hate that I buy into his. The only differences I see between you is number of followers and what side push a agenda of intolerance and hate against.
Posted by: Anonymous | January 18, 2010 2:35 PM
Just because you can swallow what he dishes out, does not change the fact that he is nothing but a coprophagous nutibranch.
Posted by: Robert Little | January 24, 2010 2:13 PM
Robert Littel - You shouldn't assume that because I question your use of the word evil swallow anything he says. I find him egotistical, combative, narrow minded and bigoted. Some of that description applies equally to you and I would not call you evil either. All I did was question your comment on hate and use of the word evil.
