Give this man a Muslim holy book

For attempting to rally employees to boycott a postage stamp that honors a Muslim holiday, the mayor of Clarksville, Tenn., has won: A free Quran.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations said on Friday it would send copies of the Muslim text to Mayor John Piper and members of the Clarksville City Council. According to media reports, Piper forwarded an e-mail to friends, colleagues and employees urging “patriotic Americans” to protest the stamp.

From The Leaf Chronicle:

The e-mail asks readers to remember a series of what it calls “Muslim” terrorist attacks. For example, “Remember the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!”

After listing a series of similar comments, the e-mail concludes, “To use this stamp would be a slap in the face to all those AMERICANS who died at the hands of those whom this stamp honors.”

"I don't see any reason why it would be inappropriate," Piper told the newspaper, and added that he thought the e-mail was neither anti-Muslim or anti-Islamic.

Snopes.com has a thorough discussion of the e-mail, which has circulated since shortly after the U.S. Postal Service first issued the stamp in 2001. According to The Leaf-Chronicle, the version forwarded by Piper claims erroneously that the stamp was created at the order of President Barack Obama.

Snopes quotes the Postal Service: “The Eid stamp commemorates the two most important festivals — or eids — in the Islamic calendar: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. On these days, Muslims wish each other ‘Eid mubarak,’ the phrase featured in Islamic calligraphy on the stamp. ‘Eid mubarak’ translates literally as ‘blessed festival,’ and can be paraphrased as ‘May your religious holiday be blessed.’"

CAIR said it would send the Quran to Clarksville as part of its “Share the Quran” initiative, through which it hopes to distribute the scripture to 100,000 local, state and national leaders by the end of the year.

“Mayor Piper obviously has misconceptions about Islam that are best addressed through dialogue and education,” CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said in a statement. “We hope the mayor and the city council will accept the copies of the Quran in the spirit in which they are given and will agree to meet with representatives of the local Muslim community.”

This mayor is a sad, shameful, pitiful disgrace and another black eye on the face of America. How individuals with this lack of intellect and common sense end up in elected office, is just representative of the fact that we actually know very little about the people we put into political position and these fools are making major decisions concerning our lives. How often do those skeletons fall out of the closets of our elected officials these days? Far too often for my liking. Either we in America truly are beating a path to hell or we just are too easily misled by fast talking, used car salesmen type of politicians. I personally believe it is the latter and people need to honestly start doing research and taking a good hard look at the people who are running for office. With the availability of the internet and so many sources of information that are right at our fingertips, the "I voted for him because he was the best-looking" just doesn't cut it any more. We have far more at stake today, than at any time in our history, and to be putting people into office like this individual who spent too much time in the bar and not enough in the library is representative of that. Kudos for your actions and I would recommend sending the Sunnah, perhaps it's stories of kindness, understanding, love and equality might open his eyes. Ramadan Kareem wa as salaamu aleykum.

Islam is what is a disgrace to America as it allows lying, rape and terrorism.

Maybe the writers at Baltimore Sun should actually educate themselves on the issue.

They might want to also educate themselves to the true Islamic agenda of CAIR.

Yet CAIR is silent on these actions.

Christopherl - You need a Quran too :) and a little dose of Sanity which, unfortunately, and unlike the free Quran, no one can donate.

Americans are just a bunch of Nazis. I like reading things like this, because Americans are so silly it is really funny.

The mayor of Clarksville is actually a very nice man and if you read the original article instead of the altered reprints you would know that he immediately sent out an apology. Our city is in close proximity to Ft. Campbell army base and most residents either have a family member, friend or neighbor who has served in the military or died or sustained injuries in a war. The last time Piper was featured in the media was on youtube in a video intitled : Funny Wedding dances" If you want to know what kind of man he really is just watch that. He is not who you are trying to portray him as.

Why should the government be in the business of honoring any religion's holiday? We have been issuing a religious based Christmas stamp every year for forty years, which I think falls outside the limits put forth by the Establishment clause of The Constitution of The United States of America. It is not the government's place to further the interests of ANY religion.

Our country was founded on Christian principles and we prospered because of it. The stamp is just another example of our country falling away from God. The Muslim nation was founded because God punished Abraham for sending his son, born of a bondwoman, into the desert with his mother. That is the only reason the Muslim nation was created and for no other. It is nothing more than a thorn in the side to the Jews and to all true Americans who support our founding fathers and Christ. So why the stamp? Because we are falling away from God. Christ is returning soon to bring it all back to His kingdom, and for those who dont want to believe, wait and find out. Thanks.

Clay - I just typed a reply to you that would never get printed, so I am going to just let your ignorant diatribe stand (or fall) on its own. I'm sure anyone with a functioning brain will gather that you are quite insane, just from reading what you have posted.

Clay...What an ignorant person you are. Even from your distorted narrative (which you probably got from your church or a 'well-meaning' ?? person of your community) Abraham seems to have actually been rewarded for his personal sacrifice by the growth of a nation from his first son Ishmael. God promises that in the Bible itself that He will make Abraham's son Ishamel's progeny grow innumerably Genesis 16:10( before Ishmael is born) and again in Genesis 21:13 after he was already born - You can't be seriously mistaken to think that 'progeny' refers to Jews - How many Jews are there in this world compared to Muslims? And Hagar wasn't just a bondwoman. She was the wife of Abraham. Have some respect when speaking about her. And just so you know, the Bible refers to her as a wife too Genesis 16:3. 'And Sarah....gave her (Hagar) to her husband Abram to be his wife' - Case Closed.

The mayor is absolutely right about Islam. CAIR is just trying to pull the wool over naive Americans. The essence of Islam can be learned only from the Islamic holy books. Here are some excerpts. Anyone can check them on the Internet.
FROM THE KORAN:

--“ the (only) religion (acceptable) before God is Islam." (3:19)
-- " If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him." (3: 85)
-- “You are the noblest community ever raised up for mankind.” (3:110)
-- The unbelievers among the people of the book and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures. (98.6).
-- Surely the vilest of animals in Allah’s sight are those who disbelieve. (8.55)
--The unbelievers are your inveterate enemy. (4:101)
-- Mohammed is God's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another. (48:29).
-- It is unlawful for a believer to kill another believer, accidents excepted. (4:92)
-- Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. (5:51)
-- Make war on them until idolatry shall cease and God's religion shall reign supreme. (8:40)
-- Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme. (2:193)
-- The true believers fight for the cause of God, but the infidels fight for the devil. (4:76)
-- We will put terror into the hearts of the unbelievers. (3:151)
-- I shall cast terror into the hearts of the infidels. Strike off their heads, strike off the very tips of their fingers. (8:12)

FROM THE SAYINGS OF MUHAMMAD:
-- Muhammad said to the Jews: "If you embrace Islam, you will be safe. You should know that the earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle, and I want to expel you from this land. “
-- Allah's Apostle said, "You (i.e. Muslims) will fight with the Jews till some of them will hide behind stones. The stones will (betray them) saying, 'O 'Abdullah (i.e. slave of Allah)! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him.' "
-- Mohammed said, "I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, "None has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and whoever says, " None has the right to be worshipped but Allah , his life and property will be saved by me." (otherwise it will not). Vol. 4:196
-- Mohammed said, "Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him." Vol. 9:57
-- Mohammed said, " No Muslim should be killed for killing a Kafir" (infidel). Vol. 9:50
-- Muhammad said: "Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war, …"

Clay you need a Quran too :) .. but I doubt you'll read it knowing that you don't even read and know your own Bible.

It is good that CAIR is giving the mayor a copy of the Koran. I hope the Mayor reads it. Everyone should read it. Anyone who reads it will find things like this in it:

United States was not founded on Christian principles. Are you telling us, Clay, that Jesus Christ pbuh taught his followers to pillage and loot innocent Native Americans and steal their land from them?

Robert I agree with you on the government honoring any religions holidays. (Never thought I see a time when I'd agree with you). Christmas has been turned in to a secular holiday over time which I suspect is why it gets the attention it does. That being said I'd have no problem if no stamps were issued for Christmas.

By the way, Clay, you may not know this, but in the Muslim five times daily prayer when the Muslims pray, they pray for blessings and peace on Abraham pbuh and all his progeny ... Ishmael and Isaac... both peace be upon them both ... and they make no distinction.

I think it is strange for someone to mention a few verses from the quran without listing the whole sentence before and after the verse. Also, if this is all you came up with, then it it NOTHING compared to what the Bible has said. Also INFADEL is a Christian word. Look up it's origination on wikipedia.

Abdulameer...you are a classic example of a person who distorts truth. I will only expose a few of your lies. The rest InshAllah (God Willing) people will read themselves when they get their own copy of the Quran.

Let me first state the most important point. Quran is not a book. Surprise!!! It is a recitation and only in Arabic. When this is preserved in any other form it is a copy and rendition. The English translation, like other translations, although useful, has many limitations. Let's take the following translations quoted by abdulameer (By the way Abdulameer means Slave of the Ruler and is not a Mulsim name...so I really don't know who this person is serving. Certainly not God because true servants of God don't lie). Okay, back to the translations....

"the (only) religion (acceptable) before God is Islam." (3:19) .... Two problems just in this one sentence alone.....the original word used in arabic is "deen" not "madhab" (religion) so the translation is "way of life" not religion. If the word would have been "madhab" then religion would have been the correct word to use. But that is not the case here or in many other places in the quran. The word Islam means Willing and conscious submission in peace to the Will of God. So...the correct translation should have been 'the (only) way of life(acceptable) before God is the willing and conscious submission in peace to the Will of God" - A Muslim then is anyone who submits freely and in peace his will to God and lives his/her life by His precepts. To any believer in God out there is there a problem with that? Let's take another one....

There is a concept of Hell & Heaven in Islam but verse 98:6 does not even read what it says up there ....It reads "And they were not commanded but to serve Allah, being sincere to Him in obedience, and being upright, and to observe Prayer, and pay the Zakat (alms to poor). And that is the religion of the people of the right path". So that should make you wonder what else abdulameer is misquoting. All the more reason to get your own copy.

"Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your friends. (5:51)" - Totally mistranslated verse. The orginal arabic word is "auliya" - It does not mean friends. It means Protecor & Guardian. In Islam only God is the Protecor and Guardian. Islam allows the marriage of Muslim men to Jewish & Christian women. If Muslims could not take Jews & Christians (People of the Book) as friends, can you imagine them getting married to the same? How many of you would marry your enemies? Common sense please. Imagine a Muslim man proposing to a Jewish woman....."Honey, I love you but I can't be your friend. But would you still marry me" ...Bizarre absolutely

Should I even go on? This really is ridiculous. No one 'has to' be a Muslim. The choice to turn to / not turn to God has been given by God himself....and you may have your own misconceptions about Islam or Muslims. But it's one thing to have genuine questions and another to distort things like that in order to dissuade and discourage people from finding out for themselves. My only appeal to people reading this is to get a copy of the Quran yourself...don't buy, just borrow it from your local mosque and give it back after you have read it, ask an honest arabic speaking person for the correct translations of words ...and just come to your own conclusions. I could go on but it's Ramadan and I have to leave and break my fast and pray :) - So, happy Ramdan and Peace be with you all

I want to see our resident Taliban type Christian get into a brawl with a fanatic fundy Muslim. It would be like watch two children fighting in a barrel over an invisible friend and a sky monkey with super powers.

I have the English translation of the Koran. I do not trust it. Nor do I trust any one who quotes from it selectively,. I know enough Hebrew to understand the root system of Semitic Languages. We need Chomsky, the world's leading linguist, to stop messing around with politics internationally and stick to his profession recognized globally: linguistics. He should encourage the Oriental Institute of Uof Chicago to put up a mechanized Quran (four versions) Arabic to Hebrew. Also it should include transliterations so each of us can figure it all out ourselves. This is just a Book, after all is said and done.

'The e-mail asks readers to remember a series of what it calls “Muslim” terrorist attacks. For example, “Remember the MUSLIM bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993!” '

Guess no one remembers an AMERICAN CHIRSTIAN bombing a courthouse with a day care center in Oklahoma City in 1995?

@KBS, as an Oklahoma City native, not only do I remember the Christian terrorist attacks on both Waco and Oklahoma City, but it hasn't been lost on me that a Christian president started the Iraq War. I won't even go into the Crusades 1000 years ago. As far as I'm concerned, no religion is without fault.

Iris,

Agreed. And I was raised Christian. Sorry to bring up bad memories.

Forget al that. I'm sure that lovely caligraphy spells out the name allah, yet a stamp with a cross or other Christian symbol is as likely as peace in the middle east.

Kudos to this gutsy mayor, though.

This is a comment to my fellow Americans.

I was born here in America to a Native American Mother and a father who served in the U.S. Military. My country, my home and my religion was attacked on 9/11. I remember that day well and always will! My heart goes out to the ones who lost their lives that day and continue to lose their lives today defending our freedom and protecting our homeland. Who has a right to reside here in my country? The Christians who slaugtered my people, the Natives? The Jews who slaugter Muslims? The Muslims who slaugter Christians?
I feel I have every right to live here in America as you feel just as strong that you do! But where do I belong? I am a Native American Muslim.
Before you pass judgement on anothers religion please stop and take a look at yours. And to the arrogant ones this country does not belong to you and it was not "founded" on "Christian" principles. This country, my country already existed, your people just happened to take it away and occupy it!

Cathina Clinton Hourani
Awanesa (Cherokee for my "Home")

Hi Cathina. The founding fathers of this country made many statements about how important God was to them and to government. What religion did your people practice before these people came? I am curious as to how they saw God. Thanks.

Hi Clay,
I hope this will answer your question.

Native American belief system is centered around nature and the belief of animals as spirit guides.
Native Americans believed in a Great Spirit, that nature in all of its forms possesses spirits, and that all life is interconnected.

So the main concept was that religion was a way of life, everything was religion.

Native American Concepts:
1) Nature is good, therefore, man being part of nature is good.
2) Chief God is the Sun
3) Animal and elements of Nature as intermediary divinities
4) Beliefs passed by word of mouth
5) Reincarnation

Now compare those to Christianity:
1) Man is born with original sin
2) God has human form(father,son)
3) Human intermediary divinities
4) Bible
5) Life after death in heaven or hell

Cathina Clinton Hourani

Hi and thanks. I am going to stick with Christianity, but I appreciate your information. Clay

Namasté,

I would like to share a few of my thoughts with this forum, some of which is a reiteration of what I have said on several other blogs regarding the Mayor Piper issue. However, instead of addressing my thoughts on the Mayor specifically, I would like to share my observations on the reactions that Mayor Piper's actions has provoked in a lot of us.

Assessment:
We are in a time and process of constant transition and growth. We (all peoples of the planet) have a responsibility not only to ourselves but to our neighbors, to extend our vision beyond common sight and understanding. American culture connotes a strong embrace of cultural diversity. Albeit the US does provide a platform for such an experience, not everyone has arrived. Many of our citizens are still in a phase of tolerance rather than acceptance. As an introspection of our inner-selves, it would be beneficial to realize how we speak and express ourselves (body language, usage of terms, phrasing of ideas, etc.) sheds light on the psychological recesses of our subconscious minds. We (all people) have our moments when we make loose, somewhat benign statements, that we do not equate to a real issue. However, our need to trivialize and justify our actions or ways of thinking, lends evidence to our consciousness, as least to some level, of its inappropriateness. This is true, though we may not be fully aware of all the layers of emotion that pad our conscious thinking surrounding the subject(s) at hand.

Reminder:
The term Muslim and the term American are not mutually exclusive. The term Christian and the term American are not mutually exclusive, and so on. I point these things out because these distinctions are tantamount to how many of us tend to take various ideas (independent and codependent) and blend them together as one. This soupish-like thinking is really the overlapping of unresolved emotional issues which distort our view of the world and ourselves. We should all be careful with such thinking, as these displaced perceptions only exacerbate our personal wounds.

Observation:
What I have seen over and over on these blogs are responses from people with distorted thinking who are ranting and raving and becoming angry and defensive, rather than coming to the table with any clarity for reflection or solutions. There are a few people here and there, that were speckled throughout trying to be a light in a room full of darkness (thank you to those beacons). Now is a call to Stop the MADNESS PEOPLE!!!

This Christian vs. Muslim stance is ridiculous! Does anyone realize that just because someone makes a claim to be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, etc., does not make them so? A person is defined by what they do not by what they say. No one that is following God (the path of love) is a murderer, bigot, hater, liar, etc. If someone is committing non-loving acts then they are not following the path of any religion of God. Stop associating ideals, deens, etc. to people. When you are angry for what someone did, address the person or groups of persons and their acts, NOT what or who they "profess" to be because that is only a mask, a psychological distortion. These distortions are no different than someone in the psycho ward that thinks they are the Pink Panther. Would you be angry with them and say, "Hey those Pink Panthers hate Christians/Muslims/Jews, etc. and I fear for my country or my neighborhood or whatever? No! You would be thinking that's silly because we know they are not what they think they are... well :/

We should be mindful of our thoughts. This is where discernment is needed. When we choose to judge rather than observe and then make choices according to what God has taught, which is to love, we find ourselves off our path of choice. Regardless of our religious or moral beliefs, when we act outside the principles/pillars of those beliefs, we are no longer what we say we are in that moment. Am I implying that we must perfect and when we do something wrong (contrary to our belief system) we are no longer a representative of that system? No, not necessarily. What I am saying is when you defy the "central pillars/beliefs" of that system, in that moment you are not representative of that system and cannot consider yourself as such. In those moments you have chosen to act "independently," exercising your own personal desires/frustrations and are now functioning from the egoic mind. Our religious beliefs are no different than the law of the land, in the manner of application. There are "elements" that must be met to consider yourself this or that or a part of one thing or another. Take something as simple as domicile. To be considered domiciled in a particular county, you must meet the elements of the criteria. Although you may be living in an area, if you have not satisfied the elements put forth, you are not allowed to claim that you are a resident for that area. This is a simple example, but you get my point.

Fear is the greatest threat to humanity. Fear (FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL). Fear breeds bigotry, prejudice, ignorance, intolerance, hatred, etc.

I invite all of you reading this to explore your feelings, to be present in the moment and to identify the truth and relativity of your beliefs. To look not only at your neighbors, but with greater regard, yourselves and be sure that you are an example of who you say you are. These type of stories (Mayor Piper's email) are simply mirrors for our own inner truths. Let us use this example to make higher, healthier choices where we too, can oftentimes fail.

May Peace Be Upon You All...

Hello. The Christian bible was written by a number of men, including Paul, who was the last person to speak to Christ in actual voice and not through prayer. Who wrote the Quran and why did they think that it was inspired by God? The fact that the Quran mentions Christ, etc is not evidence that all Muslims love Christians. It seems quite the opposite in many cases. How many Christians have been attacked in Pakistan, for example? Remember, not all Muslims are terrorists, but probably at least 90 percent of all terrorists are Muslim. I thought that it was fitting to mention this on 9/11, and not because of hatred and misconceptions. Thanks.

Namasté Clay,

It is apparent that you are not looking for solutions, but have resolved to spout rants of inanity in your posts.

It does not matter who wrote the Qu'ran or the Bible because both equate to the same thing, Faith. The truth is that you have no idea who wrote the bible, you know what you've been told and how you feel about it. The same is for those who value the Qu'ran. None of us were there. Each of us has a responsibility to choose what is "right" for our individual paths. You can believe your teachers, you priests/rabbis/imams/preachers, government officials, etc., but when it comes down to it, we (each of us) are the only ones that will be accountable for what we do and what we contribute (good or bad) to the world. We will not get to blame or reference anyone. It is your discernment and choice alone that will stand. Understanding this, we should each expect our neighbors to do what they see as correct. As a people, we move through life, embracing what speaks to us and present ourselves the best that we can. Does this mean that we did not have an opportunity to collapse on a greater truth in that moment? No, but it does mean that the person who is reflecting a particular mindset could not perceive the higher choice or did perceive, but lacked the discipline or courage to choose anything greater in that moment, hence there he stands.

There are many "facts" that I could point out in your so-called "fitting" recall of 9/11. However, it would not aid in resolve, it would only employ me as a member of the chaos, which you are so seduced by. There is a false, temporary sense of power that you gain from your stance and misunderstanding. I urge you to reflect on your ignorance for you are in the presence of an opportunity for growth and regression.

Mark 4:10-14
10And when he (Ysho'a) was alone, those around him with the twelve asked him about the parables. 11And he said to them, "To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside everything is in parables, 12 so that they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be forgiven." 13 And he (Ysho'a) said to them, "Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? 14 The sower sows the word.

The Word is Love. The Word is Life. When you speak things that are not of Love and Understanding or are Unforgiving, if you are a salesman for chaos, then you are a part of the problem. Stop throwing around your "false" statistics. You are not speaking for God or God's Word. You are speaking for yourself and your own limited perceptions. If you want to engage the people in some form of education then give them something higher to chew on. Add something to the conversation that can feed not only the mind, but the soul. Share something that does not deny life, but embraces all God's creations and help others to see their place within in the divinity of that blessing rather than a guest at the table of fear-mongers and facilitators of chaos and division.

I invite you to be of good measure and sow the Word. To be on the "inside" that you may begin to see and hear.

Peace Be Upon You...

FYI... I posted the comment to Clay @ 2:17 on 9/11. However, for some reason my post came up anonymous. I'm not sure why?

I think it matters a lot who wrote the bible because if the men who did heard it from God then God wrote it and if not, then it isnt God's word. Thats why I was asking who wrote the Quran and why. You remind me of the Native American woman I spoke to on here. Nature is God, life flows through all of us and life is good, etc. Thats not what Christ said. There may have been times when He spoke in parables but He also made it very simple. Your Hindu or Muslim butt (or whatever kind of butt you have) will burn if you dont come to God the only way we can, through Him. Now maybe you will say that sounds like Archie Bunker, but if Archie says that then you need to believe him. Of course Christ said to love, but He also warns us of what happens when He gets angry. Thanks and God bless.

Namasté Clay,

I can understand your frustration, but you do not have to be rude. You can express yourself without referring to what you think I am, with your "butt" comments. When truth questions your religiously dogmatic paradigms, your structures began to fall, and you simply struggle to gain balance. I understand your discomfort and your need to lash out. Your words, "I think it matters a lot who wrote the bible because if..." The operative word in your statement is "IF." Again, you can ask a scholar, you could pray and hope that Constantine himself answers and explains why he forced by law that many books of the original bible be removed, etc... the bottom line is you will need "FAITH" to guide you. Again, you do not speak Arabic, Aramaic, or Hebrew (the tongues of the original scriptures) nor were you born in the time that any of them were written; therefore, you are at the mercy of the translators and biblical scholars. Understanding of our Heavenly Father is about "relationship" not "religion" and if you stay fixated "only" on the framework, you will never get to the beauty of the building in all its fullness.

Since you seem to respect who Paul was, let's reflect on what he said in 2 Cor. 5:7, "We Walk by Faith and Not by Sight." What do you think he was trying to share there Clay? Could he have been referring to your alignment with the Christ mind and discouraging the embrace of the egoic, fleshly experience?

Ysho'a was beaten and crucified because his message was "interpretated" to be contrary to the only religious text that was honored at that time, The Torah / Pentateuch = Jewish Law (notwithstanding pagan docrtrines). Tell me Clay, what is the difference from what is going on today? Are there not some individuals on these forums, arguing their truths, threatening others with their beliefs and judgments, pretending to hold the patent on truth? Your warning to me... "Your Hindu or Muslim butt (or whatever kind of butt you have) will burn if you dont come to God the only way we can, through Him." What kind of prejudice are you expressing here? I am not sure if you are trying to label me by the usage of Ysho'a or my name Nabiyah. However, Ysho'a was Jesus' "true" name. This is his name in Aramaic, given to him at birth. The name Jesus was given to him by the Greeks and passed on when translating the scriptures into English written bibles. My name is Hebrew, although there are some variations of it in Arabic. Forgive Them Father For They Know Not What They Do.

You referenced the Native American woman who commented within this forum and implied that she was wrong in her beliefs and I understand that you may not agree with her and that's fine, but let me ask you something... do you think that the gates of heaven are more open to someone who is living a life of love and respect for others or to one who thinks he/she is following the pillars of Christianity and are being judgmental, spiteful, cruel, and mean? I ask you these things because I am curious as to whether you believe that your comments are Christ-like. Do you honestly believe that you are representing the message of Christ?

The questions that I posed herein are rhetorical. I mention them only for your reflection.

Clay, I think you are a beautiful person who means well and only following what he believes. However, the points I have shared today are to simply to offer a means of deeper introspection.

May Peace Be Upon You...

If you love Christ then keep it simple. His message to us is not complicated. Yes, I believe my message was Christ like. How many times did Christ warn us of what will happen to us (there will be weeping and knashing of teeth, etc.) if we dont listen? There is nothing wrong with telling it like it is and like He said it. Of course Christ wants us to love one another. God bless.

Clay the problem is you aren't telling it like it is much of the time. Far too often you are telling like either you think it is or someone told you it is. It's also obvious you don't know the Bible that well as you rarely if ever actually directly quote it.

If you really are the Christian you claim to be I strongly suggest you take the time to read the Bible and understand it. Based on many of your posts it's pretty apparent you have no idea what you are talking about.

There is nothing wrong with the post I left above that you responded to. As I said in another post I am done arguing about all of it. I dont care what church was first. We need to keep Christ first. That is what is important. God bless.

Clay - Simple beliefs for a simple mind, sounds like you are home. By the way, what color is the sky on your planet?

What color is Clay's sky--it is blood red with brimstone and fire and Clay is sitting above the fray with a holy umbrella bought from a store in heaven called, " The Lord's Prayer" where rosary beads are premium priced and umbrellas made of silk are given out free to devotees who wish roasting season for Muslim, Hindu and Native American butts. Again I invoke Poe's law--Clay is a bogus disciple of Jesus--look how he succeeds at keeping one and all at his throat--the Muslims, the Hindus, the atheists, the Catholics--all attentive to good old Clay and he rollicks in his armchair at home, his laptop at his command, his Bible tucked away in an interior closet where he cannot stumble upon it--the man is having riproarious fun at the expense of those who take him seriously enough to engage him in conversation. He is mother and apple pie to these blogs. I hope he never shows his true colors and remains inane until the day Mark Brown stops posting.

Robert Littel when did the mental hospital get internet access?

Anonymous September 18, 2009, 4.32 PM, what mental hospital are you writing from yourself? If you are completely sane then you shouldn't be on these blogs--if you are a bit deranged you'll feel at home. If you are completely insane then you can obtain citizenship in the land of religious Oz. If Clay is within throwing distance and you are tempted to throw him, don't. You'll destroy Robert Littel, you'll devastate Ravensfan and you'll earn the eternal wrath of the Baptist Jesus.

Anonymous | September 16, 2009 10:18 PM Are you must be Robert's room mate. Am I to assume you aren't completely sane since you are on these blogs? You were posting kind of late isn't today a school day?

Hi Anon. I you want to go to church with me on Sunday you are welcome. I am not just having fun here. I am attempting to spread God's word. Thanks.

Gosh Clay I wouldn't mind going to church with you but why on a Sunday?? Why not on a Saturday? That is the correct Sabbath--in fact from Friday evening to Saturday evening that is the Jewish sabbath and should have been the Christian sabbath too--Jesus was a Jew after all. Instead Christians threw in the towel with the very pagans they deplored and chose as their sabbath, Sunday, which was the day of holy observance for the pagan Romans and the Mithrains who followed Mithras, a Persian God. Another piece of paganism hidden from view in the folds of Christianity. Anonymous, Sept 17, 09, 10.42 AM, thank you for your loving note. No use provoking Robert Littel--he strikes hard. If I had really been his roommate then I believe I would have been reduced to the one flying over the cuckoo's nest. Am I insane? You betcha. Isn't everybody?
