Baltimore schools to close Inauguration Day

The city school board voted tonight to close the system on Jan. 20. Still to be determined how the day will be made up.

UPDATE: The last day of school will now be June 10, instead of June 9, unless a snow day pushes it back further.

We were going to close that day anyway. However, it will not be a day off. We have 5 buses scheduled to leave for DC at 4AM!

The most likely solution will be to tack it onto the end of the school year, as though it were a snow day.

If John McCain were elected would schools still be closed?

Interesting take on this from a parent with two teens - one in city public schools, the other in private.
