Dr. Alonso was amused by this rumor that he's a candidate to be Barack Obama's secretary of education. Not true.

I've not heard that one, but I have heard that getting the school system CEP position was a "consolation prize" for not getting Nancy Grasmick's job when her attempted ousting awhile back didn't work out.

Ah, the fun we have with the rumors.
