'Jena 6' update

Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco announced that the court case involving Mychal Bell, a black teenager and member of the “Jena 6,” will be heard in juvenile court.

Blanco made the announcement with civil rights leaders Martin Luther King III and Al Sharpton.

The case is also catching the attention of Capitol Hill. A video can be found on The Sun's homepage. Scroll down to the video section and scroll down to the Jena 6 video.

What would one consider a "win" in this whole debacle?

Oh, and welcome back, John-John. :)

Thanks for the welcome steegness.

I honestly do not know what would constitute a win in this case. There are so many losers involved. These black and white children at this school have truly missed out on the many advantages of having an accepting, diverse learning environment. I was recently at Long Reach High School in Columbia, and I was struck by the fact that this large, diverse student body embraced its differences. It appears that these students will probably be better prepared for the "real world."
Sad that the students of Jena will be a good twenty steps behind everyone else...
