After-prom parties

Good day readers,

It’s prom season and schools are encouraging parents not to throw after-prom parties where alcohol is served. Check out my story about what Howard County principals are doing.

Is this a major issue in your school system? Should parents be allowed to serve alcohol to their children in the "safety" of their own homes? What do you think?

Allowing students to drink at your home sends a mixed message. If it's illegal, then it's illegal everywhere. It shows your children that breaking the law is OK not to mention it is a lot of responsibility to watch over all the activities of who's drinking, who's driving and what everyone else is doing. It sends the message that you have to drink to have fun. Student then might questions, does that mean if adults are at any home, drinking would be allowed? Too many variables.
