Two dead in Eastside shootings
Three people were shot, one fatally, at North Collington and West North Avenues this afternoon. Then, as police swarmed the area, a man apparently shot himself in the head near East Oliver and North Wolfe streets.
The Sun's Jessica Anderson was at the scene and will have a full report shortly on the latest violence. The shooting occurred shortly after 2 p.m.

10 to 1, shooters already have a long, long record, are on probation, and should be serving 30 years to life, but had their sentences suspended.

It's frustrating and embarrasing to those of us who live in the city who are civilized individuals with careers and families. On my way to work the morning of Schaffer's funeral. I saw hundreds of offices just standing around for his funeral. If the officers would do that in the inner city and built a relationship with the people alot of this would stop. Instead of riding around four to a car jumping out on people that are walking from the subway because they just got off of work. due to the fact that they are to afraid to actually deal with the people they should be stopping
