America's Next Top Model: Movin' on up in Morocco
We’re down to the final three contestants on America's Next Top Model and it’s kill or be killed in order to get into the final two. While each model has some serious strengths, there are some solid limitations to each of them as well. Brittani has limited experience outside the trailer park, Hannah is emotional and Molly is one angry chick
Lara Spencer’s job isn’t exactly in jeopardy
For the challenge this week each model must choose a beauty trend in Morocco, research it and report back to plucky Lara Spencer on The Insider in a live shot. The contestants must fill 90 seconds of continuous airtime. And that’s all they get.
Jay tells them to deliver the Where, What and Why and do it well. And the winner gets her video on theinsider.com for bazillions to see. Brittani has a hard time finding someone to interview who speaks English. Hannah took some journalism classes in school so she is confident that she can do well. But it’s Molly who ends up coming off as the most relaxed and informed so she takes the win.
A little Tyra time
Tyra pays a visit to the casa de models for a little one-on-three. They discuss the “issues” that each girl has. And it’s extra points for crying, people. Then, after Tyra wipes away their tears, they head out back for an impromptu photo shoot. Tyra is a one-woman show, doing makeup and hair, and then photographing the girls.
Then Tyra teaches the girls isolation—how to work certain parts of the body and emphasizing them without moving the rest and we can’t help wondering if this is really what models do in their spare time…for kicks. We liked last season’s tea party much more.
Finally—a male model!
For the official photo shoot this week Nigel will be doing the photography and the super hot male model, Younes Tazi, is tagging along for the shoot. They’re looking for some chemistry. This week it’s all about the narrative.
Molly has a hard time connecting at first. Hannah brings some story to the set and the chemistry was there, but according to Nigel, “She lost her pretty” at points. And Brittani has a hard time finding the story. She feels weird trying to be sexy and intimate. This is the second time she had to spill tears to get a good shot. And Nigel never forgets.
Two photos for the price of one
This week the guest panelist is Ivan Bart, He’s the VP and Managing Director of IMG Models—and he’s a star-making machine. In an unusual twist, Tyra loved the shots so much this week that she picked two photographs for each model. And we’ve got to hand it to Nigel—even though the girls each struggled in her own way, the final results were incredible. It’s already on, but the competition heats up even more when Tyra informs the girls that the final two models will be walking in a fashion show for Vivienne Westwood.
Best photo(s) of the week goes to Molly, and we have a hard time believing that the cranky one has pulled it off and has made it to the final two. Hannah and Brit are in the bottom two and, though both are really strong, each girl has her own stinky cold weakness. Neither of them seems to be strong enough on the inside. But in the end they send Hannah home for some mental weight lifting.
