Interest in an Unleashed Pets 'O Baltimore calendar?

Floating an idea here... a BIG idea....

Wondering who among the Unleashed faithful would be interested in creating a group calendar.... You guys would send in your very best pet pictures and I would combine them to create the Pets of Unleashed 2010 or something like that.

To make it work, we'd need at least 12 of you to send in pictures -- ideally more so that it would be competitive, offer a bit of a selection....

Then, of course, we'd need a certain number of folks to commit to buying a calendar. On Shutterfly, you can make orders of 25, 50, etc.... Depending on how many one orders, Shutterfly charges between $10 and $15 for calendars.

I think it could be fun and cute! But of course, a lot of you must find it equally fun and cute. Lemme know. We'd have to get going to get a calendar back in time for Jan. 2010! Also lemme know if you have any ideas to make the project cooler -- like a charity component or somesuch...

I'd be in! My roomate and I have some good looking animals!

I would be interested too. Especially if some of the money gets donated to an animal rescue. I would totally send in a picture of my little man. (Tank looks very handsome in pictures)

I think the Bean would make an adorable - like ADORABLE - cover model too!

Can the far-flung fans participate, too? I'm in NorCal now (although I used to live in D.C.)

Bring it on! Let's raise money for BARCS, or Baltimore Humane Society, or Rescue Ink!

I would be up for one. BARCS or MD SPCA would be good choices for charity.

And since 3 of my guys were Collared this fall, I would hope one of them made the final cut.

It's tough to get good photos of Lucy since she's black, but we'd definitely be up for giving it a try! Recycled Love, who matched us with her, is an excellent nonprofit as well.

Echo has been featured in the Collared section before and would be happy to participate :)

Sounds awesome. Just let me know where to send my pics!

I'd love to send in pictures of Casey, my Russell Rescue dog. If you got more than 12 pictures, you could use some of the extra ones as "fillers" in the calendar grid.

I'd love to submit the photo of my Laddie that you ran in Unleashed!

Better save the cover for my boy! (SoBoh...) haha

I'm in...we just adopted a dog from the SPCA and I would be more than happy to show him off!

Count us in. Just let me know where to send the pics & how to order a calendar (or two, or even more if Owen get's picked for a page!)

I hope I haven't posted too late, I'm totally interested in this. And my two beautiful cats are down to pose in the contest!!!

About Jill Rosen
Jill Rosen is a reporter at The Baltimore Sun. During her nearly 20 years in journalism, she has covered news and features — including a surprising number of stories that involved animals. There were the dog Christmas carolers in State College, Pa. There were the hounds who toured with a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The story of a preschool teacher at Baltimore’s Father Kolbe School who had to replace her class guinea pig, who died over the winter holiday. A harrowing tale of what it was like to make homemade pet food ...

Though her clean freak of a mother refused to allow her to get a dog, she has had a number of pets through the years, including goldfish named Bob and Fingle, a betta fish named Ichabod, a wild rat terrier named Wendel, who she shared with a roommate, and, currently, sweet, sweet kitties named Leo Sesame and Milo Pumpkin and a little rescued pup named Teddy Bean. She, Leo, Pumpkin and Teddy Bean live in Baltimore.
