Ready to be Collared: Lorraina

NAME: Lorraina.

OWNER: Corinne Becker.

HOW THEY MET: Someone was planning to turn her and her four kittens over to Baltimore County Animal Control where they risked being euthanized due to the cat over-population problem. They were referred to me as a last resort. The kittens got homes but Lorraina remains with me.

AGE: About a year old.

BREED: Domestic Shorthair.

BEST TRICK: Giving me kisses while she cuddles and purrs.

FAVORITE ACTIVITY: Being loved by a human with no other pets -- not cats or dogs.

FAVORITE FOOD: Any simple kibble will do, I'm really not very picky!

SHE MIGHT BE YOUR KITTY-CAT: Lorraina is very lovable a cuddly but needs a single pet home, which is why it's been so challenging to place her. She is sociable, lovable and always uses the litter box. She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV and has her rabies and FVRCP vaccines.

IF LORRAINA HAD A MOTTO FOR LIFE, IT WOULD BE: Kick back, love, and be loved, in a single-pet home!

IF YOU'D LIKE TO ADOPT: potential adoptive parents can either email Corinne at cbecker1102@verizon.net or leave a message at 410-494-0747.

About Jill Rosen
Jill Rosen is a reporter at The Baltimore Sun. During her nearly 20 years in journalism, she has covered news and features — including a surprising number of stories that involved animals. There were the dog Christmas carolers in State College, Pa. There were the hounds who toured with a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The story of a preschool teacher at Baltimore’s Father Kolbe School who had to replace her class guinea pig, who died over the winter holiday. A harrowing tale of what it was like to make homemade pet food ...

Though her clean freak of a mother refused to allow her to get a dog, she has had a number of pets through the years, including goldfish named Bob and Fingle, a betta fish named Ichabod, a wild rat terrier named Wendel, who she shared with a roommate, and, currently, sweet, sweet kitties named Leo Sesame and Milo Pumpkin and a little rescued pup named Teddy Bean. She, Leo, Pumpkin and Teddy Bean live in Baltimore.
