Kennedy: The man to thank for Bo Obama

In the sea of tributes emerging to Sen. Edward Kennedy, who passed away last night, a tiny one to remember is that he's the guy who gave the country First Puppy Bo.

The Kennedy family loved Portuguese Water Dogs and when they found out the Obama family wanted a dog for their girls, and that it had to be hypoallergenic, Sen. Kennedy arranged for the puppy that would become Bo.

The Kennedy family had owned three dogs from the Texas kennel where Bo was born. Bo is from the same lineage as the Kennedy's Porties.
