Take Your Dog to Work Day...Who's in?

Friday is Take Your Dog to Work Day. As far as Unleashed is concerned, this is like a national holiday.

We want to know EVERYTHING about EVERYONE who's participating in this. Who's taking their dogs to work? Which offices are allowing dogs? Is anyone protesting the prospect of having dogs around the watercooler?

President Obama, everyone knows, taken strides toward ending the long-accepted separation between animals and offices. As you can see in the picture, First Puppy Bo has run of the White House and has even been spotted in meeting rooms. Animals at work -- can the message be any clearer??

It's up in the air if the Sun is going to play along with this. Some are worried about allergies, dogs relieving themselves indelicately, barking.... But other newsroom staff, would love to bring in their doggies. Dizzy, Baxter, Cody, are just a few staff dogs who'd like in.

Anyway, if you are planning to take your dog to work, you simply must document it in photos and send them to Unleashed. I'd love to post all kinds of pictures from folks, so make sure your cameras are fired up and ready to go. In the meantime, everyone who's going to participate on Friday, write in and let me know who you are and who you plan to bring!

At Agora, dogs are always welcome in the office

I don't know who is for it but I do know that people with dog allergies are against it.

I'm totally dissapointed I can't bring in Scout and Brogan to the office on Friday.

It would make the day so much better to have them here with me!

I want to bring my parrot to work too :-)

Dogs are always welcomed at the Mill Center in Hampden! It's great to walk the halls and pet a pooch - I will be bringing Molly in on Friday!

I work from home every Monday, so once a week is a sort of bring your dog to work day for me. He lays at my feet for most of the day, and sometimes interrupts me for some attention, which is fine by me! I also love being able to take a break to walk him, especially when the weather is nice. I actually look forward to Mondays now.

EEL - I am definitely for it. If you have worked hard to train your dog properly, it would be a privilege to be able to bring him to the office. If people can bring their disruptive children to the office, I should be allowed to bring my well-trained dog.

What places allow you to bring children to work? I am not against dogs at work. The owner of our company has dogs everywhere in the PA office. I'm just saying I know people who get really sick around dogs and cats. My daughter for one.

Ok EEL... was just responding to your comment that you didn't know who was for bringing dogs to work. I am for it. Glad you are for it too.

About Jill Rosen
Jill Rosen is a reporter at The Baltimore Sun. During her nearly 20 years in journalism, she has covered news and features — including a surprising number of stories that involved animals. There were the dog Christmas carolers in State College, Pa. There were the hounds who toured with a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The story of a preschool teacher at Baltimore’s Father Kolbe School who had to replace her class guinea pig, who died over the winter holiday. A harrowing tale of what it was like to make homemade pet food ...

Though her clean freak of a mother refused to allow her to get a dog, she has had a number of pets through the years, including goldfish named Bob and Fingle, a betta fish named Ichabod, a wild rat terrier named Wendel, who she shared with a roommate, and, currently, sweet, sweet kitties named Leo Sesame and Milo Pumpkin and a little rescued pup named Teddy Bean. She, Leo, Pumpkin and Teddy Bean live in Baltimore.
