Mayer & Me: Aniston's dog shunning John?

anistonsdog.jpg Jennifer Aniston’s dog, Norman, is having some trouble adjusting to her new boyfriend, John Mayer, the Daily Record of Britain has reported.

Aniston, who just finished filming the movie version of the popular dog book "Marley & Me," reportedly keeps the two apart when Mayer visits the actress’s Los Angeles home.

“It’s funny because John likes dogs but for some reason Norman has taken a disliking to him,” a source close to Aniston told the newspaper. “Jennifer dotes on Norman and treats him like a child. But she has got to the point where she’s had to keep him out if the way if John is around the house ... Norman is just picky about people.”

Aniston and Norman, shown above in a 2005 Elle magazine spread, have been constant companions for years and apparently Norman has yet to bond fully with her the new boyfriend.

Aniston and Mayer have been seen taking Norman, a Corgi-Terrier mix, for walks, apparently so the dog can get used to the singer on neutral ground.

Love me love my dog .

it seems norman has a better taste in men than jennifer aniston.

Norman deserves more than what John has to offer. Just my opinion!

My cat did this to one guy I dated once. He turned out to be the biggest JERK ever and broke my heart.
Coincidence? Don't think so.

John,
I am a product of the great music of the late 70's early 80's. Chicago, Ambrosia, Steely Dan............."melody".You know what I am talking about.
I heard your first pop hit and it was a catchy jingle. I was convinced that you had something to offer.
Afterwards, when you all of the sudden became above your own ideas. You thought you were a replacement to SRV or something. You are a good player, but, not even close to SRV.
Your breathy style of "Joe Cocker" bulls--- is making me sick to my stomach. Please quit making that face as if you are actually feeling the music. You can write pop songs. Lay off of trying to sell yourself as anything more.
I do think that you want to be considered a real artist. I think you have the potential, you need to quit posing, be yourself, and don't be ashamed of anything that comes out of your head. It is real and a natural.
The breathy singing is obviously a pose and makes you look and sound foolish.
Make yourself proud and quit being a jackass.

It will all work out fine.

It's a little hard to judge a guy by what a dog thinks of him.

Give John a chance.

I wonder how he is showing Mayer that he dislikes him? My dog loves my husband to death but whenever he (the husband) returns from a deployment our dog tries to... umm... show dominance... by getting on top of him... hahah Perhaps that is what Norman is doing to Mayer?

About Jill Rosen
Jill Rosen is a reporter at The Baltimore Sun. During her nearly 20 years in journalism, she has covered news and features — including a surprising number of stories that involved animals. There were the dog Christmas carolers in State College, Pa. There were the hounds who toured with a production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The story of a preschool teacher at Baltimore’s Father Kolbe School who had to replace her class guinea pig, who died over the winter holiday. A harrowing tale of what it was like to make homemade pet food ...

Though her clean freak of a mother refused to allow her to get a dog, she has had a number of pets through the years, including goldfish named Bob and Fingle, a betta fish named Ichabod, a wild rat terrier named Wendel, who she shared with a roommate, and, currently, sweet, sweet kitties named Leo Sesame and Milo Pumpkin and a little rescued pup named Teddy Bean. She, Leo, Pumpkin and Teddy Bean live in Baltimore.
