White House Fall Garden Tour: Photo op!

White House Fall Garden Tour

My friend, fellow garden blogger and pretty-decent photographer Susan Harris had tickets for the White House Fall Garden Tour, which took place Saturday and Sunday in splendid sunlight, and she is sharing her pictures.

Susan, with your permission, I will snag one for here, to tempt Garden Variety readers to see the rest of your photos.

Susan posted more photos at her usual haunt, Garden Rant. Make sure you see those, too.

Nicely done, my friend.

Thank you for that gorgeous insider's view! It's great to know that no matter who you are, from everyday folk to the president's family, gardening offers beauty and wonder. I also applaud Michelle Obama's efforts to raise awareness about vegetable gardening and getting kids outdoors.

For those of us w ho love digging in the dirt, this is delightful music!

Thanks, Susan - glad you enjoyed it. And I I wish you'd been available to join me thaqt day.
And btw, all those mums? They're from Homestead Gardens.

Get out! Really?

its very nice

Thanks for sharing the pics. I'm sure it's a garden that would me most of us envious.

About Susan Reimer
Susan Reimer has spent 16 years writing about raising kids - among other topics - in her column for The Baltimore Sun. And every time son Joseph or daughter Jessie passed another milestone - driver's license, college, wedding or a move to a new military duty station - she has planted another garden. Now she will be writing about those gardens - and yours - here on Garden Variety.

Susan isn't an expert gardener, but she wasn't an expert mother, either. Both - the kids and the gardens - seem to be doing well in spite of her.

She lives in Annapolis with her husband, Gary Mihoces, who loves to cut his grass but has noticed that there seems to be less of it every time the kids pass another milestone.
