Mother's Day: Hint, hint!

Mother's Day is almost upon us and in the past my Mother's Day gift was always the same: 6 tomato plants and the time away from my young children to plant them.
The tomato plants. Not the children.
The children are grown now, and so is the tree that hovered over my vegetable garden. My tomato crop -- heck, my whole vegetable crop -- now consists of two plants in two deck containers.
So what do I want for Mother's Day this year?
A new wheelbarrow.
Pretty sexy gift list, huh?
There is nothing wrong with my old wheelbarrow that a new tire wouldn't cure. But the tire has not been repaired by my DH despite frequent requests, so I am going for a replacement.
I am hoping for something in a pretty color, too.
My wheelbarrow has a spot up against the fence during the summer for easy access. It isn't terribly unsightly, but a bright red or a lime green replacement would be nice.
Just sayin'...
Another pair of garden gloves are not going to get it done for me, but my friend and fellow blogger, Kerry Michael, has some Mother's Day suggestions on her container gardening blog at about.com. Take a look....and then take a hint!

Oh, no! You mean I have to up the ante? Maybe gloves AND a hat this year for Mom? My theory is that one can never have too many gardening hats or gloves. A wheelbarrow would certainly be dramatic, but since my mom lives in an apartment, it might not be welcome.
Would you like me to forward your blog post to your children? My advice is to tell them exactly what you want...there are a lot of really crummy wheelbarrows out there (but lots of nice hats and gloves).
Kerry, you kill me!!! And, yes, I put in my order and made it very specific! -- Susan

One year I got exactly what I wanted for my birthday: oversized bricks to finish up the garden borders. One of my coworkers asked me about my birthday gifts and I told her about this. Long pause, then "How old did you say you were?"
