Maryland Home & Garden Show: tickets are on me
The Maryland Home, Garden & Living Show opens the first of its two weekends at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium Saturday, and I have three pairs of tickets to share!
The show features Joey Green this weekend. He's the mad scientist of clean, who once got Barbara Walters to wrap a wet Pampers around her head.
Next weekend, Jeff "Mole Hunter" Holper, with 10,000 mole kills to his name, will be entertaining audiences with his strategies for killing those pesky garden creatures.
There will also be 19 display gardens, 150 crafters, dozens of demonstrations and 400 exhibitors. Oh, and did I mention? Wine sampling!
I am writing a pair of stories about the show for Friday's LIVE section of the Baltimore Sun, so stay tuned.
In the meantime, post a comment and I will randomly selected three lucky winners of the tickets, which sell for $24 a pair.

I'd like to go this year as I've never been. I've always thought that it would be a disappointment after seeing the Philadelphia Show, but I've been told it's quite different and pretty nice.
It is. They can't compare, of course. So different in their purpose. But the MD show has things the rest of us can actually do. -- Susan

This winter has done a number on my sad, crumbling fence. I'd love to go see what our options are for replacing what's become an eyesore. Plus I could use a reminder that Spring is just a few weeks away.

Susan- Here at Splash Pools we are really excited for the show to begin. We are currently in the process of moving into our booth and the show looks like it's really going to be a great one. It took a little work but we got our 25 foot tall Viking Fiberglass Swimming Pool set up today. Come see us at booth # 1427. There are some other amazing booths as well and I'm sure everyone will be happy with the show.
Stop by with the kids and pick up a balloon from the booth.

Hi,
My wife and I are looking to do some major landscaping after all the damage from the snow this winter. What a great way for us to meet local busines owners that can show us what they can offer.
Thanks!

After a winter like we have had, you doesn't need something to lift their spirits like the home and garden show. I look forward every year. It is a sign that Spring is actually coming. I have never had free tickets and would love a set. If I am not chosen, I still will hve to go. Thanks for the opportunity.

My husband and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary on 3/9 and want to spruce up our house and gardens now that the kids are grown. Cat loves watching the birds out one window where we have a garden just for her.

Never in a million years would I pay $24 to go to the home and garden show. But I have always wanted to go and wished the tickets weren't so expensive. You're my favorite columnist. I hope you pick me!

Posted by: Eve | March 3, 2010 10:54 AM
I'll take free tickets!
Posted by: Jeff | March 3, 2010 11:03 AM
You did mention wine tasting! After all this snow, I need fresh fragrent flowers to remind me that spring is just around the corner. What better way to spend our first weekend with 50 degrees, sunshine and the one you love. Yeah!!

My husband and I would love to go the show. We are looking to do some renovations (new windows, etc), but think $24 for tickets are just too high. It would be a great way to start our project.
Posted by: Kathy | March 3, 2010 12:33 PM
I had a contractor disappear before completing the work he was hired to do. No response to certified letter. Yet he sent me a "final bill", which I, of course, refused to pay. Now I need to find a new contractor to come in and fix/finish the work. *sigh*
So I thought I'd try the MD H&G show.

Would love the tickets. I am a new Baltimore resident and need some tips on getting my yard put together.

Well, the 'wine tasting' did it for me. Now I really would love to attend the show. It would be a learning experience for both of us. My wife is always looking to improve on our gardening projects.
THANX !

we're finally at a point in life where we can make some modest improvements to our little house. Going to the show would help us with ideas and introduce us to some businesses we might be able to use.

With a husband who has been out of work for 18 months, creating a garden that will be easy to maintain yet yield enough veggies to keep us fed this summer and put away for winter is essential. We need all the help we can get in this area. Neither of us have ever attended the show but certainly feel it would be helpful.

I am so ready to get out of the house and see some wonderful landscaping and beautiful flowers. Spring is near! This event is so uplifting and gets me motivated to begin some home projects.

Even though I have been in Baltimore for past 11 yrs, I have never attended the H&G and love to attend this year, where can I get free/discounted tickets?
I already passed them out! Sorry!--Susan

I would love to go to the Home Show. I am always looking for new ideas to keep my husband busy.
Ok. Let me repeat! The tickets are gone!

I have been counting the days until the show - I live at Deep Creek Lake where we have had over 22 ft of snow. What better way to get in the mood for spring but to get some new ideas for my yard. It is all rock so while many people want to bring rocks in,I want to get rocks out. I also saw you on the Sunday morning Balto. TV and some of your ideas are engenius! I hope I am lucky enough to get a pair of tickets for this weekend.
OK. This is going to officially drive me crazy! The free tickets I had for the show have long since been given away, as I noted on a blog post! -- Susan
