Free to a good home

Grocery GardeningGarden Variety is lucky to have an extra copy of the new book, Grocery Gardening, to share with readers.

The book, a soup-to-nuts guide to growing, cooking and preserving your own fruits, vegetables and herbs, was produced in a social-networking collaboration among four garden and food bloggers who had never met, with contributions from their "friends" and "followers."

I wrote about the new book in my Gardening from the Couch post on Sunday, and I'd be glad to give away my extra copy of the book to someone randomly selected from the comments on Sunday and today!

Include your email address when you post, so I can reach you for your snail mail address if you are the winner. Don't worry, I won't share with anyone

I would love this book!

I really need to know how to can and preserve garden goodies.

Looks like a great book to have - I would love to win! Thanks for the chance!

This book is already on my Amazon Wish List -- I would put your extra copy to good use!!

This book looks really interesting. I would love to take a look at it.

I really enjoy reading your blog and would *love* a copy of the book! Growing food for the table makes gardening all the more fun, and it would wonderful to know how to preserve fresh food for later as well.

This looks so inviting! Esp as I try to eat more local foods and cut out the sugar. My dad loved to garden and proudly would announce how many kinds of lettuce, tomatoes and veggies were in each night's salad. Best way to eat - right from one's own garden! Or one's dad's! Best memories were of my dad in the garden and grinning from ear to ear over that salad...Grocery Gardening would be an awesome tool on hand!

Hello, girlfriend! Do you think you need to recuse yourself!!!

I'd love to get a copy of this book :)

This book does look intriguing, especially since this year I'm expanding my vegetable garden by several beds.

My fiance and I just moved into our new home about a year ago and are hoping to start our own garden this spring (if the snow ever stops falling). We'd love to have this book so we can have a bible as to what we should be doing to have a successful garden. We participated in a CSA this year and found we actually had too much food, so we're hoping with our own garden, we can control that a little. And if we grow too much, we can always give some away to our neighbors!

Thank for your consideration!

This book would go to great use!

About Susan Reimer
Susan Reimer has spent 16 years writing about raising kids - among other topics - in her column for The Baltimore Sun. And every time son Joseph or daughter Jessie passed another milestone - driver's license, college, wedding or a move to a new military duty station - she has planted another garden. Now she will be writing about those gardens - and yours - here on Garden Variety.

Susan isn't an expert gardener, but she wasn't an expert mother, either. Both - the kids and the gardens - seem to be doing well in spite of her.

She lives in Annapolis with her husband, Gary Mihoces, who loves to cut his grass but has noticed that there seems to be less of it every time the kids pass another milestone.
