Gardening by the calendar
As any good garden calendar should, it includes pretty pictures and timely tips. In addition, events and seminars to be held at Greenstreet are listed. And there are coupons for free gifts and plants.
Garden Variety readers, get out your typing fingers. Post a comment on any of the posts on the blog, and I will randomly select four of you to receive a calendar.
The fifth one is for me!

I was just going through last years catalogs and planning out this years garden. I found a sheet last year at Valley View that had a ton of information on it about dates and other tidbits of info. It would be great to have a calendar to keep me moving along. This will be our second year with our veggie garden and we are going to add two more raised beds and hopefuly add a fence this year to keep out the varmints.
I'll see what I can get, Joe, and I will post it here on Garden Variety. --Susan

Last year I realized my 12-year dream of planting a vegetable garden. The results were less than I expected, and I don't want to calculate the actual cost of the few things that were harvested. I've gotten comfort from reading this blog and finding out that I'm not the only one who had a disappointing year. I can use whatever garden tips I can get!
Last year might have been the worst vegetable gardening year in 50 years, if you listen to some of the farmers. It is no wonder you had a crummy year. And there is a lot of talk out there that gardeners like you won't come back. But give it another go! --Susan
