Weekend gardening events
Saturday, 11 a.m. Valley View Farms, Bugs, Slugs and Other Garden Thugs: We’re willing to share, but not with these creatures. Find out who the good bugs and who the bad bugs are in the garden and how to encourage the former and discourage the latter. This visual presentation will be presented by our staff and any “friends” participants want to bring along for identification. We will show earth-friendly techniques to keep our gardens healthy and alive. For children and adults.

My question is about grapes. After a few weeks of growth, after grapes form and are about one and a half inches long, a white"hair" grows out of each grape, and eventually the grape bunch disappears. Can you tell me what causes this, thank you............John

I am hoping somebody out there can help John. The only grapes I work with have already been turned into white wine.

I'm going out of town this evening, so I'll miss Whimsical Summer Container Gardens, which sounds like a lot of fun. However - and I hate to be a thorn in the nice Valley View folks' side with this - I am quite sure that if I stop in one day next week and ask questions, an employee will give me the highlights. They are very helpful at Valley View.
LOL, Eve. The secret is out! VVF people are there for customers no matter what day of the week.

Hi Susan,
Hope to see you this weekend at the Lee Center when the AHS garden school gets some Teaming With Microbes!
Cheers,
Jeff
