Make me a movie

My friend M gave me the idea for this week's Friday Five. There are some movies that are classics. We've talked about the most romantic movie scenes before, but here's twist.

If you could re-create any romantic movie scene, which would it be?

I would like to have my own version of the New Year's Eve scene in When Harry Met Sally. Something about someone knowing all my good and bad parts and loving every bit of it is so ... ahh. And Boyfriend loves to pull out the line from The Cooler now that he knows that's one of my favorite scenes.

But what about you? The piano scene in Pretty Woman? The end of An Officer and a Gentleman? The Han Solo "I know" scene in Star Wars? (I'm giving the evil eye to whoever is nodding to that last one.)

Give me your best, and I will post on Friday.

The first scene that comes to mind for me is the last one of Breakfast at Tiffany's. After spending the film denying to herself that she could be in love, and being an independent "free spirit" and pragmatic chick, Holly and "Fred" share a passionate kiss in the rain (with poor cat getting all rained on).

I love it.

I still also think that the end of Officer and a Gentleman -- when Richard Gere shows up at the plant in full Navy dress and picks up Debra Winger and carries her out -- could be the most awesome couples Halloween costume! But my boyfriend said he doesn't want to carry me around all night :(

When Lyle Lovett i sbreaking things down to Lisa Kudrow in Opposite of Sex.

When Hicks is teaching Ripley how to use the gun in Aliens....and when he goes from pulling her along (due to her emotional state) to her helping him walk (due to his physical state) in 40 seconds.

Or Peter Parker admitting he loves Mary Jane while trying to prevent her from being crushed.

Yes I am a geek.

The boombox scene in "Say Anything." Except I get to have the boombox. And it's less stalker-y. Actually, I think I just want to listen to that song more. So, me and a boombox playing Peter Gabriel. There you have it!

The end of "Die Hard." Flawless victory.

Honorable mention:

The interview/Lois/Superman flight scene from the original "Superman."

The last twenty minutes of "Cold Mountain."

Dancing scene from "Witness."

Good call on Breakfast at Tiffany's. While we are at it, let's remake some of the scenes with the outrageously racist "Mr. Yunioshi".

Yeah, I did have to get over the racism and sexism of Breakfast at Tiffany's to enjoy it. But, whatever, I'm over it.

As much as I love Say Anything (I gave her my heart. She gave me a pen.) I think if it were real life, I would have shot Lloyd Dobler with a bb gun. Interrupting my sleep like that! :)

But in the movie, very romantic.

And I didn't mention Han Solo cause you already had it there.
