Does this really work?

I'm checking my e-mail, chatting with friends this morning, and I receive this message through AIM (direct your eye to the red circle in the left-hand corner):

Does "amyinheat423" ever get any play? Do people (presumably mostly men) really fall for these things? For what it's worth, I can't seem to click the request out of my screen. Perhaps "amy" is really persistent.

Maybe Amy is really lonely? Baltimore can be such a cold, cold town.

On a serious note, I think they say "there is a sucker born every minute" for a reason. If someone is that desperate, they will believe just about anything or anyone. That should explain the reason for the increased popularity of cults, who prey on the lonely and the lost.

Somehow someone always does. I had a friend who did. He gave me a story how she just randomly wrote to him and they just "clicked". She even sent him a few pics, which some of them wasn't even the same girl, similar looks though. I was trying so hard not to laugh, but I just started cracking up. He got offended too. There's more to the story, but I'll keep it short.

Sad thing was that he's married and has children. He eventually realized it was a scam and stopped. I never bring it up with him, but everytime I see him I can't help but think of that one time he thought he was gonna get laid with a model he meet on the internet which was probably some dude pretending to be a female.

Internet is a good place to meet people, but girls looking to get some usually head to the bars not the computer.
