Auction for Justin Bieber tickets at Maryland State Fair

(Getty Images)

Tickets for Bieber's Sept. 5 performance at the Maryland State Fair is sold out. But American Advertising Federation of Baltimore is auctioning off four tickets on ebay.

The bidding starts at $225 and the auction ends Aug. 21. The federation says all proceeds will benefit the group's College Scholarship Fund, which awards money to students pursuing a degree in one or more advertising disciplines.

How much are you willing to pay for Justin Bieber tickets?

This just in...tween/teen idol Justin Bieber will perform Sept. 5 at the Maryland State Fair.

Funny...I know Bieber is wildly popular, but my 9-year-old daughter swears that her contacts say he's "over." Your thoughts?

Milkshake has a Grammy nomination

milkshake%20grammy.jpg
Congratulations to the local kids' band Milkshake, nominated for a Grammy award for their Great Day CD.

I remember when they got started, and made the transition from rockers to listenable kids' music. Here's a story I wrote about Milkshake then, along with an update from Sam Sessa more recently.

Tonight's lullaby: Puff the Magic Dragon

mary%20travers.jpg
Those of you still rocking your children to sleep may want to sing "Puff the Magic Dragon" tonight in honor of Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary, who died Wednesday. Though I've always been fond of the song, I could never remember the lyrics beyond the first line or two. Especially when I was comforting a baby.

Fortunately, the Swamp blog has posted them...
