Family movies for the snow
What will we have to do with the kids this snowmaggedon weekend but watch movies?
I asked Baltimore Sun critic Michael Sragow for his favorite picks for family movies that could be watched at home. Here they are, in a handy photo gallery, with some blurbs from his reviews.
Now just make sure your favorite DVD source has them in stock...
If you have recommendations to add to the list, we'd love to hear them!

I like "The Water Horse." Sort of a spin on the Loch Ness monster thing, very cute and no bad language.

What about "The Secret of Roan Inish," directed by John Sayles?
I generally like this list, except that we found "Up" to be a downer, despite loving Pixar. "Coraline" is not for wee tots--too scary, I would imagine. Children of all ages will love "The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill."
We love "Roan Inish"! KS
