Seeking help with preschool, spring break, camp

For today's Tip Sheet Thursday, I'm seeking tips instead of providing them directly, since several readers recently wrote in with similar child-care questions. Please chime in if you can help:

--One mom writes that she's moving to north Baltimore soon, and is looking for a good local preschool for her daughter, who will be 3 this summer. She's looking for just a couple of mornings a week, at first.

--Donna is looking for day camp options during spring break, which for her kids is March 16-20. I know at least some public schools in the area are on break the first full week of April, and there are parents looking for day camp options then, too.

--Dorothy Jenkins writes that she is looking for summer camp options for her 10-year-old. (Even though she wrote she was looking for an "expensive" day camp, I'm betting she meant "inexpensive.")

I have 2 kids at Towson Presbyterian Preschool, and I'm very happy with the program so far. The staff is extremely helpful, flexible, experienced, and wonderful with the kids. As a bonus, it's not only one of the best in the area (according to many people I asked), it's also one of the least expensive !

It's located right near the middle of Towson at a church (it seems that 98% of pre-K schools are at a church), but it's not overly religious if that's a concern.

Hope that helps!

I would also recommend Towson Presbyterian Preschool. My daughter (now in kindergarten at Rodgers Forge ES) went there for three years, and she couldn't have had a better experience! The teachers and staff are experienced, caring, phenomenal, wonderful people, the school is clean, bright and fun, and the program (MSDE certified) is terrific preparation for kindergarten. You won't regret it!

Here's a tip via Twitter:
"Here is a list of both full and half-day camps at the Maryland Science Center...fun! http://tinyurl.com/d3vbqe"

The Y of Central Maryland runs great camp programs when school is out, even for just one day! Contact your local YMCA for more information http://ymaryland.org/.
