Happy blogaversary to us

blogaversaryToday marks the first anniversary of Charm City Moms. For me the time has flown by, but just to remind myself how far we've come, I took a look back at my first post. From it we got our first expert question -- on the 4-year-old who begged for Motrin -- and things went from there.

Thanks to all of you for reading, commenting and making this a very interesting year. I hope our second year together will be even better than our first.

To that end, I'd like to throw the floor open. As we start this new year, what features would you like to see more of on Charm City Moms? What would you like to see disappear? What's new and interesting that I haven't thought of yet?

To get you talking, we have a contest. A winner will be chosen at random from those who comment on the topic of this post to score a book from my stack of cookbooks and parenting titles. The catch: You've got to enter your e-mail address when you comment so I can contact you afterwards, but rest assured that we will not publish your e-mail address. That's between you and me.

That woman who blew a 0.23 in front of her kid's school looks ... uh ... tired.

So this is where you're hiding OM.

Congrats on one year Kate.

I want more about making the best of dysfunctional family situations.

I love all the Things To Do posts - living in the DC Metro Area it is so cool to have the resources of a second great city just a half-hour away.

Maybe Baltimore attractions and performances could offer some discounts and promos especially for Charm City Moms readers?

Totally greedy, I know....

Kudos on the anniversary. It must be a thankless job having to attend to this constantly like a baby that never grows up. :-)

What did you do to lure inveterate zen-miscreant Owl Meat to your realm? He does love to travel abroad, so maybe this is his winter vacation nest,

Woo hoo, happy birthday CCM. What do you know, it's my scottie Jiggsy's birthday today and he's one year too. Arf arf yip yip hooray.

Not to be too persnickety but I'd like to see some stuff for Dads. I know plenty of stay-at-home pops (hey, like me) and blog titles like this suggest that only moms have issues with finding things to do with their kids, etc.

Point taken, and welcome, Hungover Gourmet. Do check out our Father's Day Fridays, though!

Congratulations on surviving a year. Now, please, please, please, NEVER discuss young children in restaurants, again.

What's the problem with kids eating lemon peels? Is that dangerous? At what age does it become safe?

Ha ha.

Don't laugh at me. I clicked on that link to your first blog and it suggests there is something wrong with kids eating lemon peels.

Was that a joke? I'm seriously asking here.

Oh Bucky, I'm sorry -- I didn't remember that that question was in the post. I thought you had read the subsequent answer and were ribbing me about it. We did address that question here.

Thanks. I thought they might be poisonous or something.

If you can find a way to do it without it being too commercial, I think it would be fun to spotlight a super-cool toy each week or maybe every other week. Toys that meet the standard of high quality toys (I think there is a website that has a list - durable; multipurpose are two I remember)

Or maybe highlight a book each week in three different age categories? I think families are always looking for good things to read together - newer books beyond the classics - like no Eric Carle - everyone loves him, but most people know about him. How many people know about the Gossie books by Olivier Dunrea?

I love "dinner together". You've selected some great recipes, and I love reading about your kid's reactions.

I love this blog; congrats on one year! I would love to see some reviews: baby/kid products, books, gear, etc. As a new mom I am always looking for advice on everything (unless you're my mother-in-law.)
