It's Monday Consult time!

I'm in need of questions for next Monday's consult. If you're new to the blog, this is a weekly feature in which you get a chance to have your most pressing parenting question answered by an expert.

What are you wondering about?

at what age can we REALLY start using the jogging stroller for jogging? the folks who work at the running store are, well, kinda macho about it ("we started when she was 2 months old!") and the books/literature online sometimes say as late as 8 months.

any thoughts? perhaps you could clue me in as to which developmental milestones our child needs to have hit.

it sounds trivial, but i'm eager to hit the roads (well, more likely, the paved paths)

How much exposure to toxic people is safe for kids?

I've been wondering what the best beaches are for families and where people like to stay - favorite hotels, etc. We went to Lewes beach and liked the Inn at Canal Squ, but it's pricey. I like that the town is walkable and low key. But I've heard Bethany is the place for families. Suggestions??

Any tips of how to re-set a child's sleeping schedule for the transition to the school year (i.e. earlier to bed, earlier to rise)? We've slid into some nice sleeping-in during the summer months...

Is plastic really unhealthy? Is it really unsafe to refill plastic water bottles? There's a lot of talk about the dangers of plastic, but I wonder is it all plastic or specific plastic. What is the best approach to using food and beverages in plastic?

You'll find guidance on several previous posts under the Health category: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/features/baltimoremomblog/health/
But there's more to say, and I'll look around for some answers.

I like the suggestion for the tips on resetting the sleeping schedule for back to school. My oldest is starting Kindergaten in a few weeks and being up and ready to go might be a challenge.

I'm interested in tips for transitioning a 20-month old from the crib to a big kid bed!
