Send your ideas for the next tip sheet

What's your preference for this week's Tip Sheet Thursday?

Here are a few ideas I have:

--Best books for summer reading, preschool-second grade (with an older installment to follow);

--Best family movies;

--Best local ice-cream spots for kids;

--Best "vacation" spots no more than a tank of gas away.

Vote for one of these, or submit your own!

How about best local sites for families to visit?

With gas prices they way they are, my family is planning on seeing some of the tourist sites around the city. I haven't been to the Edgar Allen Poe house or the Science Center since I was a kid. I've never been to the Museum of Industry or Port Discovery.

Some things are free. Like the Civil War Trail Markers, or the grounds at Ft. McHenry (altho there is a charge to go inside the fort).

I'm hoping to hit the Walters too.

Most recently, my H took our son to Pimlico to watch the races. The racing season is over for the year now, but my son enjoyed it.

My vote is for -->

Best "vacation" spots no more than a tank of gas away.

Thanks. Kris

I like best vacation spots as well as best ice cream

Have you done a list of child care centers? As someone making (late) arrangements for the Fall, it would be nice to have a few recommendations of places others have found to be good.

I like this idea a lot, but think it might take more than a couple of days to get together a good list. Why don't we make this the Tip Sheet for June 26?

I'm looking forward to both lists. I have a request. When we tackle the childcare, can we do it by geographical area? I'm still looking for some (any) recommendations in the Catonsville/Columbia areas. Everything I hear about seems to be in northern Balt. county.

Excellent idea.
