Beating the summer heat this Thursday

How do you and your kids escape summer heat? It's time to start sending your tips for this Thursday's list, which was suggested by Laura.

That's going to be a more challenging prospect than usual this year, isn't it -- BGE bills being what they are?

Post your tips below, and I'll get the list ready for Thursday morning. Remember, your tips count in our latest comment contest; we still have a little way to go before we hit lucky 700.

The Baltimore Museum of Art is free, air-conditioned and has free drop-in family workshops every Sunday afternoon at 2 pm. The Walters is also free and air-conditioned, but we have had a harder time finding parking close by, and hiking blocks in the heat and humidty doesn't beat the heat!

Stoneleigh Duckpin Bowling - or any bowling alley, is a fun, although somewhat pricey, way to spend a hot afternoon.

It's fun to have a toy wash in the yard -we take all our outside toys and wash them off with the hose, and of course get wet in the process. It's the same as having them wash the car, but more on their scale.
