This Thursday's tip sheet
I think this is the Thursday to come up with the list eapopp suggested of favorite area pizza places that kids love.
Pizza is certainly a staple for many families, though with the economy pinching all of us, it's apparently becoming more of a weekend treat, according to this piece on progressivegrocer.com. All the more reason to choose your pizza place wisely.
Dining at Large has done a general fave-pizza place list before, but ours will probably be geared as much to how easy it is to eat there with kids as it is to the taste of the pizza itself. Of course, we want the best of all worlds: great pizza in a place where the kids can run wild feel comfortable.
Post your favorite places below, and tell us what you like about them.

flash mob!

Carmine's in Hunt Valley - delicious pizza, outstanding customer service, and a gelato shop on the other side of the store. What more could you want?! Very kid friendly.
I also love Trader Joe's refrigerated pizza dough that you assemble and bake at home. The dough is 99 cents and tastes great. The pepperoni is $2.69 (and is enough for two pizzas), the sauce is $1.89 (enough for 1.5 pizzas), and the four-cheese blend is under $4 (enough for 1.5 pizzas). That's basically $8 per pizza. Plus, there is nowhere as child-friendly as one's own home. Friday nights are traditionally pizza night over at our house.
I have not tried any of the city's brick-oven pizzerias, but I would love to get recommendations for a good one.

Correction: bad math at 10:30pm, sorry - the homemade pizza is $6 and change.

Wow. That was the worst flash mob ever. Not even Pierre followed his alter ego Sam Sessa.
No kidding. Pretty lame, huh? Nice to see you here, Owl Meat; but please don't eat our young!

They are tasty when broiled i with parsnips and butter. Nah, I don't mess with kids unless they interfere with me getin' my swerve on. (See D@L post). Short version: if you don't want to have to explain why your kids can't ride a pony to school, then don't leave them at the bar to watch TV while you eat. And you will never fully undo my Santa Jesus story. Cheers.

See, this is why you should teach your children to be wary of strangers (especially strangers with feathers ...)

Please, meat bloggers, inside voices!
We love Pasta Blitz in Timonium (across from the back of Smyth and in the same strip mall as REI). Nice people, great food and, so far, no bar where meatheads can tell kids fables.

We used to go to Bertuccis when the kids were tiny. Now they like Italian Gardens in Kenilworth Mall in Towson, Carmines in Hunt Valley, and making their own personal pizzas at home. Grownups like making their own because they can put onions and stinky blue cheese on their pizza ...

I love this post because we never actually take the kids out for pizza and I wouldn't really know where to go. We like Iggie's on Calvert but have only gone there without them. When we have pizza, it's usually either because we want the convenience of delivery (usually Al Pacino's or Pepe's on Falls) or we just toss a frozen one from Trader Joe's into the oven for a cheap, quick (and oh-so-healthy) meal.

the best place to have pizza with children is at home. otherwise poor EL will have to add a children running around factor to her reviews.
