Morning miracles
The universe must have been smiling this morning, because when I reached in typical, hurried fashion into the big, unsorted jumble of clean laundry, I found not one but two pairs of matching socks sitting obediently together at the top. One for each child.
And just below those, there were clothes appropriate for each child to wear today.
I nearly wept with joy.
Something's definitely up, because yesterday fellow blogger Mary Beth over at Supafine had her own morning miracle.
Do you have any to report?

What a day of miracles! After having a last minute sleepover, on a schoolnight, I was dreading the morning where I would have to rush three children. However, both school-age children were up before me and easily got ready in enough time for me to actually cook a nice breakfast! Both children were off to school on time and with full stomachs and minimal stress on me. Further, the afternoon playdate was fabulous, as the lovely little girl was well-mannered and polite. One never has much luck with so many different children in the same day!

Things get so crazy with end-of-the year performances, science fairs, field trips, etc. in both December and in May...that I cheat: after my 5 year old's evening bath, I dress him in the clothes for the next day and he sleeps in them. I figure that a t-shirt and short/sweatpants is might close to p.j.s anyway, and it shaves off one task in the morning (he never wants to get dressed and it is always a battle because he always wants to wear his pajamas to school.) O.k., I feel a little like a crazy person and perhaps my sons will recount this to others in their adult years as evidence of their traumatic upbringing, but it does help keep me sane!

I had the opposite - I forgot my daughter's lunch and had to go home. I contemplated pulling a Ferris Bueller and having a pizza delivered to her preschool classroom. I at least made myself chuckle!
