Poll : What are you feeling as 'Jon & Kate' ends?

I have learned to never say never when it comes to TLC, but this could be our last "Jon & Kate Plus 8" show Monday night. So, of course, we have to have a poll.

Here it is: What are you feeling as "Jon & Kate Plus 8" comes to an end? A lot of folks here wanted to get those poor kids off TV. It looks like that is the case. After Monday, "Jon & Kate" is kaput, and TLC now says "Kate Plus 8" is not in production. So, the kids are off TV -- at least for now.

As for Kate's alleged show, who cares? If she needs an earpiece and real-time coaching to be interviewed by Natalie Morales, do you think she can handle hosting her own show? So, what are you feeling about all that and the fact that we won't have Jon and Kate in our TV lives after Monday -- at least for now?

(Keep reading for news about our Monday night coverage. There has been a change in our live chat plans.)

I have a second alternate question if you don't like the "feeling" one: What do you think Jon and Kate will say in their separate talks to the camera Monday? If you like both questions, answer them both in one or more comments.

Now, here's the deal on Monday night. If we live chat, it is hard to write aa  full review of the show. Also, there are problems with getting some of the other folks involved in live chat (like Carla) involved because of their other work duties at the "Sun."

So, I am going to watch Monday night and review right after the show, as I have always done. As soon as Kelly sends her comments Monday night, I will add that to my post, so you have them both as we did last week. Kelly's involvement has been great.

Then, we will do a live chat at noon Tuesday. Everyone will be revved up to talk about the finale on the morning after, and this will be a great venue for it. Trying to do it at the end of a long day and watch at the same time doesn't sound as appealing as this plan does to me.

So, post-show coverage Monday night from me and Kelly, and live chat Tuesday. Let's have some real fun with this the poll, Monday night's coverage and Tuesday's live chat.

And I really think many of you have made a difference in getting the Gosselin kids off the air with your dedicated blogging and analysis. Thanks.

I have a question about the couch interviews. If TLC "fired" Jon, what are they using for his interview? Old footage? Or did he agree to one last taping by himself? Thanks.

I think I know the answer, but let me doublecheck to make sure before I publish it. Maye some of the other bloggers here already have checked and will share. Thanks. Z

I will be taking one for the team and watching the show complete with my glass of kaopectate and a snack plate of Tums. Just so the TLC executives know, I'll be shouting all the while the show is airing, "Git er Done"

Hi Kelly, Thanks for checking in and letting us know you are onboard. I see you are absolutely primed. I think the folks at TLC are wondering where you came from. I can see them saying, "And we thought Z was tough on on this show...." You have to be TLC's nightmare. And PS, because I had such a demanding week on stories for the print edition of the Sun, I got behind here. I just went back this morning and read some of the Monday night reviews of J&K that came in from bloggers like sparklycig, Marie, Irene, Sheery and others -- and they were fabulous. This is a great team, thanks to you all. We are going to have some fun with this finale. Z

Hi Z,
I really don't care if Kate gets her own show. What is of most importance is for the children's filming and exploitation to stop.
It is better for Kate to support herself then to be using her children to this end.
Having said that, I cannot imagine what Kate could do that would be remotely of interest. She seems neither intelligent nor articulate although in her own mind, I am sure she thinks she will be filling Oprah's shoes. Have a good day!

Hi Cathy, Thanks. That is what I was saying, too. Of course, we will be all over whatever kind of show TLC and Kate try to foist off on the public. Won' that be fun. But as I was thinking about this show ending, I thought, "Yeah, but the kids are off the air, and that is what matters most to many folks here." Thanks. Z

Man, my computer froze up...lost my post.

From bottom up.

Z, you post great blogs/reviews. Kelly though you are the "Rock star" when it comes to the blow by blow. No pressure from all of us. We love your posts and cannot wait.

Yes, the day after live chat is a great idea. Many times at night, I am lucky to get a Tv. Let alone the Tv and computer. Unlike Kate, my kids interupting me to do homework, sign this, can I go here and do that, during an hour of a show I am watching is not a cause to go get all up in a tizzy.

And, the Kate issue. As long as their is a penny to pinch out of the exclusivity of the contract The lying channel has with Kate, she is not going anywhere. They will find something for her to do, even if they are criticized, boycotted, etc for doing it. Kate sold her kids, soul, relatives and marriage to these frauds and they will ruin her completely before she fades into the sunset. (pessissimitic I know)

The 8 precious kids, I can only hope that they are given back what is left of the innocence & privacy of a childhood. You only get one childhood and I am ashamed of myself for participating in what helped to rob these children of that.

Ok...BBF's we got our work cut out for us.

Hi Irene, Please check last comment I responded to. I gave a shout out to you for your blogging last week. Thanks. And yes, we do have our work cut out for us. And isn't it some fun? It is great to be back with this gang of troublemakers. Ha.... But on a serious note regarding your remark about feeling guilt about once having been a viewer of the show, I would say that once you saw the show for what it is, your dedicated efforts at blogs like this have helped get those kids off the air. And I would feel good about that. You folks have also helped "educate" me about the problems with this show and others that exploit kids. Thanks. Z

I predict there will be no show for Kate on TLC come spring.

My question: Why is it that the mainstream "media" did not report on Kate's earpiece during the Natalie Morales interview?

I will still worry about the kids because I believe it was not necessarily being on TV that was so bad for them: it was having two complete imbeciles for parents. TV show or not, they still have to live with those people. We curse the Gosselin parents and rejoice in their misfortunes and wish the worst on them, all the time forgetting that whatever the parents suffer, the kids will suffer tenfold.

The show's going off the air will make no difference to my life because I never watched it, but I worry that instead of finally focusing on the kids and their well-being, the parents will focus on scrambling for TV-show-sized paychecks to maintain the lifestyles to which they insist upon being accustomed. The kids would do just fine in a smaller house on a smaller lot with fewer and less expensive vacations, but I fear the parents will refuse to let go until they lose everything, particularly their kids (not physically, necessarily, but emotionally.)

Thanks Z...we appreciate you and know the demands of a job/family etc. I think it is great the blog keeps on going even in your busiest moments. I love all the bloggers here and hope that after Jon and Kate goes on indefinate hiatus we can still find other things on Tv to pick apart. Television really does need its critics. They would sell Froot loops as organic vegetables if people would accept it.

Rest up everyone! Kelly glad you are on board and everyone too. Did we ever find Holly? We miss you Holly. ABB (all bloggers bulletin) please come back.

Yes, I am really worried about Holly. I desperately hope she checks back in with us. As to your other point, Irene, I have ben thinking about the same thing. We have to hang together. This is too great a group not to keep talking with one another. I could not bear the thought of breaking up. After our live chat on Tuesday or first thing Wednesday morning, I am going to put up another poll question asking our regular gang to list or talk about their other TV and media interests so that we can decide on a future TV topic or topics to keep us together. What do you think? Thanks. Z

What I'm feeling as this charade comes to an end is.... that it's not really coming to an end! TLC and Kate are hoping and expecting that Jon will cave, that the viewing public will rally, and that Kate can keep taking the "high road" and further exploit the kids on TV--all for the kids' own good, of course.

As to the second question, both Jon and Kate will lament the demise of the family unit, acknowledge that they've both made mistakes, and leave the door open for a reconciliation. (Translate: protect the brand and resuming production of the show).

Then, TLC will lick its finger, stick it into the air, and decide which way the wind is blowing for the future of "Jon and Kate Plus 8." After that, a decision will be made, based on the ratings of Monday night's show.

Since both Jon and Kate, with their out-of-control fame addictions, have demonstrated that neither has any intention of working at an honest job, they will probably reach the conclusion that it's best for all that the show go on.

A new epiphany for Jon; business as usual for Kate.

It's all about the ratings, baby!

Hi Vicky Simpson, Thanks so much. I think you hit the real mindset of the hustlers behind this show. I say it right here, right now: I will be surprised by no crazy about face by TLC or Jon and Kate. You know, I have been fearing a Christmas surprise reunion. Thanks. Z

not feeling really... more like hoping that this might be the last thread on the topic.

Hey MrRational: I've got some news for you: It won't be the last thread on the topic at this blog. Far from it. Z

I totally agree with Vicky, I believe that TLC is just waiting to see how this all shakes out. They are lighting a fire under Jon to see if he caves and allows them to fillm the kids. If that doesn't work they will see how things shake out in the divorce. Meanwhile, they are keeping Kate under contract and dangling the promise of a show in front of her to keep her in line and doing what they want her to do. According to the lawyer on the Gosselin divorce blog Jon brought roses to the arbitration meeting today...who knows maybe they will kiss and make up and everyone will be happy except the viewers and the kids!

I believe that Jon and Kate's time is up.
The filming will stop, neither one of them has any particular talents, training, or common sense. I do believe that Jon's gig as guest host on whatever show he's doing will get old with the producers. Hopefully he will realize that the kids will grow up fast enough and then he can move back to the city. As for Kate, she's in for a rude awakening as the paps disappear, the interest falls to zilch, and she hopefully will become the mother to the kids that she's proclaimed all these years. Both Jon and Kate will end up in the same area and I am praying that all will be well with the kids.

There is no question that the kids will be back on tv in no time. Let's not forget that Jon's 'epiphany' had nothing to do with real concern for the children. It was an ill conceived power play. The only compass involved here points to money. TLC is not suing Jon for the money damages. They are doing to make him comply. When Jon realizes he is screwed and has no options, he will settle with TLC. He will accept a paycheck from TLC again, the kids will be on tv. However, the show has lost its appeal, and will not succeed beyond the initail curiosity, swell. They will be broke and obscure within a year, or well on the way.

I think you could be right, sadly -- about all of this. Thanks. Z

Z,

I definitely want to keep the gang together. We have formed real bonds with each other. I like the idea of us giving you some topics that we are interested in so that we can all stay together. Irene, Suzi J., Aly, Sandee, Avis, Holly, Diane, Kelly, Karen, ALEX, Marie, marieE, and the list goes on and on... and I know I am missing people, please remind me who you are. We love all of you.

Like Irene said, "Bloggers that blog together get to the bottom of it together". Hope I did not mis-quote you Irene.

Irene, check you facebook messages. I had a little mess on the way to work, so I am going in late. ha

I hope the "mess" was nothing serious. Z

Oh and I know that I left out FreeTheGosselin8 and Wiki Editor,and Heather, Hot Dog, Bacon.... Sorry guys, how could I have left you out. See that is why lists are bad. Let me know if I missed anyone. I love all the posts.

And Holly......where are you??? Hope you are okay!!!

It is a large and great group, and I think there are another couple of dozen that could be named. Z

How do I feel about Jon & Kate Plus 8 ending? Definitely NOT grouchyish. However, I AM feeling happyish, delightedlyish, and thrilledish. (Insert cackle here, turn to best friend the camera and say all cutesyish - are those even words?)

Hi Mary Lou, Funny. But you are also supposed to ask, "now what made me say that, I wonder." cackle, cackle, cakle. Thanks for the smile. Z

Mr. Rational I understand your weariness of the Gosselin story. The Gosselins and their Lying channel did bring this on themselves.

http://mattheckman.wordpress.com/

I do not know who this man is. Maybe Z or some other bloggers can help me out here. This article though is so wrong, so wrong in many ways.

1st of all we as consumers of television have a right to expose the truth of television. Z does it for a living, I do it for a hobby.

2nd GWOP is in my opinion, to be thanked for exposing this fraud, for what it is. I did not always agree with them, but in principle they nailed it and the lying channel can spin it any way they want. It doesnt change the facts of the matter. The lying channel used, and in my opinion abused the family involved in this show & they did it to the detriment of 8 children.

#3 The Kreider's are family. Sure if they join forces with Gloria Allred, it will give the lying channel a run for it's money. Gloria does not act like the nitwit that Jon does.

Anyway, this article really only relates to the post in the statement Mr Rational made. Let me be clear to the lying channel~~ I am not a hater in general. I am a wife, and a mom with 8 children and what you did to this family is wrong, and I only hope these types of reality shows are so expensive to make, expensive to defend your company against, that someone steps up to the plate and says maybe we should not be doing this. It will cause us time, money and alot of aggravation. That does not make me and others jealous and haters of Kate. I honestly pity her, she is too blinded and acting too stupid to realize what it is she is trading for 30 minute segments on television. And, honestly, Kate is the only one left being used and manipulated into thinking she has some future in television. She is without talent, cannot speak unless it is about her, has to wear earpieces, has to be told in articles like Vanity fair what to say, where to eat, shop etc. Good grief.

So the Matt Heckmons of the world keep drinking the lying channel kool aid...as for me and my fellow bloggers we will be waiting to hear your frivalous attempts to reinvent the univentable, reload the unreloadable..

Mary Lou @ 11:38..
The footage of Jon in this final episode was filmed on August 25th. This was the day he took the kids to visit the fire station. The fire station was hoping for a donation so TLC had the kids earn one by setting up a lemonade stand. It's really important for people to understand how long ago this interview was when speaking about Gosselin time.

I love your idea of the live blog on Tuesday, Z. It's really difficult to type, listen and read all at the same time. This will be much better.

I believe TLC is dangling the carrot in Kate's face at the moment so she stays on board with their vendetta against Jon. I don't think they plan on dumping Kate until all court proceedings are over. After that, I think they will rethink their position.

This is actually one episode I'm going to watch. I'm not sure why, exactly, but I guess I just want to see it with my own eyes.

Fabulous, Gosselin 8. I knew I could count on you to have that fact confirmed. I didn't think it possible that they could use something that old. It will be interesting to see if they properly reveal that it is that old. Great stuff. And I glad you agree with the Tuesday live chat switch. I find it confusing, so I suspected it might be the same for others. Tuesday, we will have so much to say. Thanks. Z

Hi Z,

There are a couple of dozen others. Sent a message about the "mess". Anyway, I am going to work now.

Everyone have a great weekend. I will be back.

Schadenfreude.. I guess that's why I will be watching. Sad but true.

Sometiems I think schadenfreude is OK. I was just having that discussion with my editor, Tim Swift, on Friday. And he thought sometimes it was OK, too. And he is a wise man -- or maybe it is a wise guy. I get confused about Tim. (kidding) He's a great guy, and played a huge role in shaping and helping me develop this blog. Z

Oh Irene!! You really have branched out to be looking at Matt Heckman! Don't know whether to laugh or cry at that!

He blows with the wind just to stir up trouble and get hits on his blog. Back in July he was blogging about having child abuse charges filed against Kate and now he is her champion. Ignore him and his site. You will find nothing but cut and paste from annonymous bloggers from all over the world and it will all be completely out of context.

Stay away from him, Irene. No positive energy there at all. Just a lot of dirty smoke.

Z!

You really don't want your readers going to Matt Heckman's site. The comment section is riddled with language you would not print!

Lordie bee

2days 7 hours 27 min 4secs

we get to see what the lying channel has cropped/edited and pasted into a season finale...

glad to see everyone on the blog today. You are the best BBF's in all the blogosphere...no matter what Monday night will be ridiculously ridiculous...

Mary Lou you have a blogger of the day comment if I ever saw one :-)

Why would TLC give Kate another show when she is so hated? Who is paying for all her security? I hope Steve gives her a break after all, she is providing him with "personal services" as well.

E-mail TLC and tell them that you will watch Kate's show only ONCE so that you can make a list of the sponsors. Tell them that you will contact each sponsor and tell them that you are boycotting their products as long as they are sponsoring Kate.

If you watch the J/K show now, you will see very few sponsors and that space is taken up with advertising for other TLC shows. Without advertisers, no show will survive.

Opps, sorry I will be working on Tuesday at noon. Unless I can arrange a work lunch break. They are pretty flexible. I will just enjoy all the posts and maybe I can follow the chat from work since I have access to the Z blog. I am most interesting in just getting the kids off camera and that seems to have happended, so I will follow this, just may not participate. Good luck everyone on Tuesday!!

I really am going to work now. Like I said they are flexible and very understanding. :)

Z, thanks for the opportunity to vent about the Gosselins and TLC! I am still quite concerned about the 8 children, filming or not. They are the product of two self-absorbed, untalented, counterfeit, delusional parents. Their situation will get worse before it gets better. Kate appears to be a "bully." Jon may be loving, but he is "clueless." Both of them are getting bad advise. I also believe that Kate never dreamed that Jon would stop the kids from being filmed. After all, it is the "family job." They will be in terrible financial shape before this is totally over!

GWOP has helped end this sham of a show, but your bloggers are right in there with them! Great Job, Z!

Jon G is slick. He brings in a dozen roses to the arbitration meeting. Let's have some fun and see if Kate takes the High road and for the sake of her kids accepts them and takes them home. 10 cups of Monkey munch I bet...she is photographed by paparazzi coming out without the flowers.

See Radaronline for my evidence.

Yes, Sherry T...bloggers that blog together get to the bottom of it together. Amen!

I'm happy this is the last show for the kids. And I hope it is the beginning of the end of kids on reality shows altogether, and that work on a federal statute to protect children in reality programming is just gearing up to become the realest reality.

Even after all this time, still feeling "stunned" by the whole thing--mostly that any mother could so thoroughly commoditize her children. But relieved that it might finally be over for the kids.

Just hoping Jon stays strong for them. And dreaming, really, that the silver lining might be more public appreciation of the trainwreck that a lone personality disorder can wreak. That could actually be the (quite unintended, I'm sure) only positive lesson from the alleged Learning Channel.

Tuesday chat sounds good, Z.

Sherry T I am so glad you are ok. All BBF's everyone wear your seatbelts, do not get on any ladders or do anything that could cause you to be out of commission for Monday nights show and Tuesday live chat! Kate G must have a bodyguard to come home safely to her children..we must be safe to be able to get to see this spinfest in all its glory.

(The lying channel needs to send at least a couple intern bloggers to us...hehehe)

Everytime I hear about Jon & Kate wasting their kids' money (a dozen roses) it makes me angry! I thought the recent trip to Hawaii by Jon was over the top and the money train just keeps leaving the station!

Are we, the viewers, being played yet again by this couple? Sickening!

MarieE.. Jon & Kate don't make any money for reruns because TLC owns the show and the reruns are only shown on TLC.

They could make money if TLC sells the rights to another channel, but only if it was written into their contract, which I sincerely doubt.

Oh, thank you Freegosselin8...see I happened on that article by accident. I was reading something about how unfair the blogging world has been to Kate & it provided a link to this article as part of its evidence. I read the Heckman article but not the posts. I just thought he is full of himself in what he said about Kate getting the raw end of the stick.

Kinda reminds me of the mentality of people any more:

Palin blames the Mccain committee
Tlc blames the bloggers

But, thank you I will take your word for it and stay away from it. Whew

I am glad you guys sorted that Web site out. I think he might be shilling for TLC. Thanks. Z

I think TLC is just waiting to see how the divorce plays out. If at all possible, I'm sure they want to use the kids and that's why the squeeze on Jon. If the Gosselins go away then I think the next battle needs to be attacking TLC programming. Exploitation is unacceptable whether adults or kids.

As far as the couch interviews, I bet anything it'll be a splice and dice of Jon because I don't think he has filmed in a while but Kate's will be new (she is the "high road taker" after all and TLC will continue their vendetta against Jon Monday night).

I'm feeling that it's about time. I used to like watching the show - probably the first few seasons. I'm not sure when things changed. The show almost became uncomfortable to watch because of the way Kate treated Jon - though the kids were always adorable. My turning point for the show was when I realized that Jon and Kate were not the loving couple that they pretended to be on the show, and that this family was not struggling together because they loved each other but because they wanted to keep the lifestyle that they had become accustomed to and that they really were not struggling. It was then I realized that these two schleps would do whatever it took to keep the money rolling in. Didn't matter if they had to sacrifice their happiness, their children's happiness, their family, or their friends. They wanted the almighty dollar. What an ugly trait to have.

As to what they will say . . . LET'S ALL SAY IT TOGETHER . . . WE DID IT ALL FOR OUR KIDS!!!

I have come late to the party here at Z's. But what a great place and a great bunch of bloggers. I love reading here now.

As for a reconciliation between Jon and Kate, to put it bluntly, when hell freezes over. But if I am wrong on this and it has all been some kind of ploy to boost the ratings, I think there are enough savvy viewers out there that this would blow up in TLC and Jon and Kate's face.

Kate on her own. Please. It would be more entertaining to watch grass grow.

I think the ratings will be big on Monday, not enormous, but big and that will be partly because people are so glad to know these people are going away they want to watch the last of it. I haven't decided if I will watch or not, I don't want to boost their ratings, but I have watched the show since the beginning so I may have to watch.

I do look forward to reading Kellly's recap and Z's column after Monday and I hope to participate in the chat on Tuesday.

Hi Barbara, Welcome. It is great to have you here. You sound like you have the same take as many of the folks here opn the Kate and the show.Z

I will miss watching these gorgeous kids as they grow....We all make mistakes and hopefully learn from them. They are a unique family with a unique set of problems.I think they can work things out if Kate goes to counseling with Jon and if Jon stays away from young women.I have high hopes for this family because the kids are the motivating factor!!!!

Shilling needs to be the word of the year for 2009.

Hey, look we have to find somebody willing to count them um's, for the sake of my kids, Lordie bees, sluppskeeid or whatever that word that sounds like she is sucking in her snot, & did I say that, oh and one more, precious that Kate just cannot get through a segment without saying.

As for Jon everyone let out a laugh when you see that black shirt with Lies, lies, lies blurted out.

Ya know, it is really too bad, this is just gonna be a slop job of epic proportions.

We were promised with Morales the most "intimate interview to date" & all we got was earpieces & reminders of how "doggone" (no reminders intended there Z) fame happy Kate really is.

SKEPTICAL is how I feel about this being the finale for J&K Gosselin.

Via the entire Gosselin saga (ye olde 'sacred to profane' viewing journey), TLC has attempted to mold and maniuplate J&K viewers like one big ball of commercial-watching Play Doh. Are we really to hope that the TLC suits think they've milked the last session of Play Doh molding from the J&K shock-u-mentary?

Just wishful thinking on our parts, I fear.

If you are a fiction lover, 'reality' tv is your Garden of Eden. Plot, scripted dialogue, created caricatures: THIS is the definition of 'reality' shows. The term 'reality programming' is an oxymoron.

A threatened "Kate Show" coming in the spring? Prepare now, Play Doh People, for yet another round of TLC manipulation. Get your remote in hand to turn DOWN your brain function and turn UP the manufactured drama.

Remember when you thought Kate's "P People" referred to Papparazzi? It was just Kate & TLC code for "Play Doh People".

Surprise Surprise, Entertainment tonight news & Radaronline are reporting that Kate Gosselin left the arbitration meeting without the roses.

Ok, bloggers, help me a blogger out here? Does this action on behalf of Kate surprise us?

As the Gosselins turn....

Indeed... Way past roses -- these two....Z

Ok. Ya'll stumped me on Schadenfreude... (and I have german in me) We are gonna have to start having word of the day around here.

Now, that I have my bearings straight and know what it means. LOL. I am a little guilty too Freegosselin8.

As far as why the mainstream media did not report the earpiece. Remember NBC was paid to take part in this fraud & with a bad economy this story keeps some level of $$$ flowing. I wonder if Z has gotten any emails over us hammering the "earpiece issue".

No emails from TLC or NBC. I beliedve NBC News is embarrassed by it. It is impossibl;e fopr TLC to feel embarrassment apparently.Z

My feelings are that I really don't care what Kate G does after this show is done. If she gets a job with TLC, more power to her, but I doubt it will last very long.

Actually, I'm hoping both parents can have some kind of jobs to support those kids. Just keeping 8 kids in private school must cost a fortune. Of course, would it kill them to be in a public school in their area? Its not like they live in the inner city or anything.

What I really feel is that even with the formal ending of this show, the kids will not be able to have a "normal" life with these 2 people as their parents.

They have both shown how immature and selfish they can be. Kate has proven herself to be totally self-absorbed and Jon just doesn't seem to be able to get out of his own way.

Sadly, I think the brains at TLC have, in fact, synchronized the divorce with the end of show. They are dragging in so many unimportant witnesses in their case against Jon, they are nit-picking him to death. For what? I mean, what do they expect to get from him? He has no money.

On one hand, they keep Kate happy and on the other hand, they kill off the father of her children. And, she allows this to happen. This is what makes her the more vile of the two.

Something tells me (Lordie Bee!) that TLC & Jon will reach some sort of agreement on a few "specials" during the year with the children. He will save face (yeah right) by saying he has spoken to the kids and they agree and Kate will gloat and become more Queen Bee than she already is. They will both continue to be salaried TLC employees.

No matter what happens, Kate will never give up her spotlight. If TLC cans her, she will still resurface. It won't be until all the tabloids stop reporting on her & Jon that we wills see the last of the Gosselin parents.

As for the Tuesday live chat, I love the idea. I was annoyed that I wouldn't be home on Monday night for either the show or live chat, so this is better. I'll be out of state, but HOPE I can make it home by noon on Tues. If I don't, please wait and don't start without me! HA.

As for what Jon & kate will say in final segment, I think we will hear the same mumbo-jumbo from Kate. She will go on about how she is a "single" parent and carries the weight of the world on her shoulders.

She talks, but never says anything.

Either Jon made a few bucks from TLC (he is still under contract) and sat for an interview, or they will splice clips of him from this past season after the divorce announcement. He'll give more of the "being a better person" stuff and how he loves his family... blah, blah, blah.

kate will probably give drivel about just concentrating on her kids, etc..etc.. ad nauseum. Plus, I think I saw a clip where she says.. "Its been a great run". Now, is she talking about the show, her marriage or what? She can't seem to separate tv world from real world.

And, she never will.

Mumbo-jumbo -- good word for Kate. Thanks, MarieE. Z

Oh, I was just laughing my head off. I cannot take credit for this but the Huffington Post has a blog titled and the headline says "The Audacity of Dopes"
I'm sure it was borrowed (not positive)
Oh Lordie bee...from Z's "Audacity of Hype" tour, earlier this week.

LOL~~ if this all wasn't so funny it would be so funny.

Wow.. I'm skeered.

I did a light perusal of some other sites regarding the Gosselins.

Seems like Z's name is bantered about as running a "hate blog".

Hahaha.. gotta love the seneseless uneducated!

Z.. did you know you were a hater? I didn't know that I was, glad I found out. HAHA.

That is all TLC inspired. They're the ones that shredded a family right before our eyes, and they want to talk to me about hate. I don't think so. Thanks for the heads up MarieE. We haven't given them half the heat they deserve fdor what they did in prolonging this show at the expense of the family. Thanks. Z

I'm feeling glad that the Gosselin kids will be off the air, but that no one is concerned about the other children being exploited on TLC. Toddlers & Tiaras, The Roloffs, The Duggars, The Hayes? Why not a movement to nip these programs in the bud?

The goal for the Gosselin children is met in the eyes of "child advocates". By continuing to write about Kate and the show, you are the one, now, promoting the exploitation.

I hope someone will take a look at the truly sick "Toddlers & Tiaras." I can't even comprehend how cynical and exploitative someone would have to be to put that on their air. You know what, I hoipe Oprah looks at that show. I wonder what she'll have to say to the head of Discovery Communications now that her name and identity are linked to the trash on TLC. Z

I find I have become completely disgusted with TLC and now cannot watch anything they produce. I used to occasionally tune in to watch “The Little Couple” and the Dugger family and enjoyed “What Not to Wear” from time to time, but can’t get my fingers to punch in the TLC channel on my remote anymore. I’m not purposely boycotting the channel, I have just lost any interest in anything TLC might provide. To me they are now The Exploiting Channel (as they always have been) and I’ve had my fill or seen the light, whatever it is. I will never see “I am a human tree” or “The woman with the 600 pound leg” or the updates on tiny children who are dying before our eyes as TLC follows them around in the guise of “teaching” its viewers. They are saying Kate’s new show will come out in the spring of 2010. After watching the very last J&K+8 Monday (HOORAY) TLC will cease to exist in my life. They’ve become lower than pond scum in my mind.

I’m not sure what they have up their collective sleeve to keep the publics’ interest up until spring of 2010 so people will tune in to see Kate. People are fickle and their attention will turn to other things if Kate isn’t in the news continually for the next 4 or 5 months. TLC HAS to be aware of that, so will they flood their lineup with J&K reruns, have her make personal appearances around the country, what? I suppose if the divorce proceedings are long and drawn out that would be a good way to keep up the interest. They will have to pay ROL overtime to keep up continual coverage of the Gosselins for the next few months. And of course Kate will continue to let the paparazzi know where she’ll be at all times. That may help for a while. But something else big will happen and the p-people will move on to snap photos that will bring in bigger bucks.

If Kate doesn’t get a TV show of some kind she is going to take her anger and frustration and rejection out on the kids. We all know that. So perhaps we should hope, “for the kids” that she ends up with something. The show will have to be something simple minded that Kate (and her fans) can deal with, something where she won’t have to depend on an earpiece to tell her the “big” words. Then again, her fans probably don’t know the difference between “correlate” and “coordinate” anyway, so what difference could it make if she decimates the English language with poor verbal skills? TLC probably figures the public has been dumbed down enough over the years to be contented to watch, slack jawed and clueless. A Kate show could probably be produced relatively cheaply for the audience they’re catering to.

What will happen to the blogs that are devoted to the Gosselins 24/7? So many thoughts and questions as this epic comes to an end.

So, now that I’ve rambled on, I feel worn out with the Gosselins and relieved Kate’s face and over-exposed cleavage will be off TV for a while.

Sherry T, sorry I didn’t get back to you on the other article about Facebook. I had to work 5 nights this week and that really wears me out. To answer your question, no I’m not on Facebook. There’s something about Facebook and Twitter and tweeting that just hasn’t caught my attention. I’ve allowed myself to stop keeping up with the explosion of technology in many ways. I’m very bad about even answering my emails! It’s so thoughtful of you to ask. Perhaps I’ll check it out tonight… (last night to work for a couple of nights) and see what I think. If I can keep my eyes open, that is.

I’m interested in seeing how the live chat works and will be checking that out on Tuesday if possible. I’ve enjoyed Z’s blog and meeting such insightful, funny and intelligent people here. You’re all the silver lining to a dark cloud. Thanks Z, for being here.

I think I'm like many of the readers here: I feel relieved that the kids are off the show. And although I don't doubt Jon's motivations for taking them off like some do (he wanted the show to end long ago), I applaud him for doing so. I seem to remember years ago Charlie Sheen also caught a LOT of flack when he fought to keep his kids off reality TV, so maybe people will eventually realize Jon made the right call. As for Betty Broderick, Jr. aka Kate Gosselin, I hope she finds enough viewers for her show so her kids no longer have to support her.

I stopped watching over a year ago in protest of those kids working the way they were, and hope neither they nor any other kids have to work without laws protecting them ever again. Good riddance to bad child exploitation tv!

i really lovd the kids and want what is best for them, but how will kate provide for them without a show??

jennindixie thank you for your post & welcome to the blog.

Your question is interestingly greatly in need of an answer.

Answer: JOB

Many single mothers have them.

Wow, I can't believe the end is really here. I'm afraid it's a trick!

I'll be so happy to see those kids off the air. I just hope Jon doesn't cave as I question how much he can take. He's a big question mark.

The live blog on Tues sounds great, those of us on the left coast will be caught up by then, sot thanks for that. be easier for me

Z & my dear fellow blogger friends,

I'm here!! I'm sorry I've been absent of late & even more sorry I couldn't check in to let you all know that I am "OK".

About 30 days ago, my Uncle Peter (my Moms brother) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. It came as quite a surprise because he was VERY healthy, was planning a trip to China with his wife & generally living a blessed life. He went to the doctor a month ago because he had a bad cough & when he coughed, his sides hurt badly. We were all shocked to find out the diagnosis...pancreatic cancer :( He made the decision that he wanted no further treatment & wanted to spend whatever time he had left at home on Cape Cod with his family. At that time, we were told he had several months to live.

2 weeks ago, my Aunt (his wife) called my Mom, who lives in the Virgin Islands, and told her to get on a plane right now, she NEEDED to get there..NOW. My Mom rushed up to Boston, was able to see her brother relatively coherent, sitting up, chatting, etc & the very next day, he passed away :( I immediately got a red eye flight out of Seattle to Boston so that I could be there with my family, attend the wake & funeral and help with whatever I could help with. I did have my laptop with me, but obviously, had very little time to check in & comment.

I have been keeping up with ALL your thoughts though & I am STILL so very proud of you ALL. I'm so sorry I made you worry about me, it was just difficult to check in...I'm sure you guys understand. At any rate, I'm back home in Seattle & I am gearing up for Monday night!!

We all know I'll be back with more of my thoughts :)

Hi Holly, I am so sorry to hear about your family's loss. But I am heartened to hear from you. You are in the thoughts of many folks here. Thanks for letting us know. Z

Aly "overexposed cleavage" priceless.

Please do not lose touch with all of us after J&K finale.

Allchildren~~ I will tell you one thing if Oprah is going to own 50% of Discovery you can bet your bottom there will be a new sheriff in town.

I never watched Toddlers & Tiaras simply because I am from the north transplanted to the south. Being a new dumb yankee in town some years ago I took my 1 year old Jamie to one of those pageants. I bought her a cute dress at Jcpenneys and put stockings & pat n leather shoes on her. When I walked in I knew I was out of my league. Some snotty mom came up to me and told me to strip my baby of her leotards because judges like Legs. Let me tell you, after I about got a can of whoop *** on the lady I walked out. No way would I let my children be exposed to any of that exploitive crap and that is the mild version of my opinion.

So, all I can say is to TLC is my lesson learned here over this show is to stay away from shows like it. Bye bye duggars,Little people, hayes, the family on WE tv...no way am I gonna contribute to the delinquency of nitwits anymore than I already have.

Hi Irene, Oprah will own 50 percent of her Discovery Channel, which is now Discovery Health but will be renamed the Oprah Winfrey Network. But she has never been reluctant to make her feelings known, and you can bet the head of Discovery will listen and cater to those feelings. Thanks. Z

Also Allchildren I do think the other shows on TLC are being affected by the people not watching J&K. They only repeat the same junk the Gosselins did, camping, etc. The difference though seems to lie in the presence of parents that are involved and do care about more than getting a manicure once a week or having a staff care for their children.

And, for the record I saw some of LPBW the other day. The lying channel is repeating the same ole same ole and focusing on another crumbling marriage.

Good riddence to bad rubbish! Sick of that whining self-centered Kate. Kate, go home and be a parent. You made a million dollars off those books, you are not in dire straits. Your not losing your home to foreclose like many people are, losing your job? please! You have 11 bank accounts plus probably others that people don't know about and a million dollar house. How many of you people out there have that. Plus she spends money like water. What she needs is therapy for the unhappy childhood she claims to have had and the resulting of that, that has caused what is going on now. It's not normal to have cameras in ones house 24/7, do any of you have cameras in your house 24/7. Kate thinks it's normal. Well it's not, and all the exposure of the kids in underwear, running around half undressed, thanks Kate/TLC for giving the sickos out there, the fuel to do things to little kids. (they make pics from TV). Those kids are gonna have to live with this for the rest of their lives. I feel for those kids. If Kate gets a show I will not watch it.

The sooner the better - get the rejects off tv - TLC, you should be ashamed of yourself for letting this carry on. This is not TV, it's pathetic.

Jennindixie, regarding your question how will Kate provide for the children without a show, perhaps she and Jon should have thought of that when they were raking in the money. Ask yourself how others provide for large families and maybe you'll figure out what she needs to do. Clues... smaller house, fewer cars, no Starbucks....

Irene, I clicked on your link to Matt Heckman (sorry never heard of him before) but it was depressing to read. I don't hate Kate or Jon. Nor do I wish either of them ill or harm nor am I jealous. But like the majority of you on Z's site, I wanted the filming of the children to stop. And I also believe Kate to be an abusive spouse. Kate getting her own show, is fine with me. Even Jon. They have a right to gainful employment just like the rest of Americans. But the children should not be part of their reality careers.

I will be watching on Monday. And I will continue to pray for this family. I believe that God hates divorce, but in the event that divorce does happens to a family they need love and support to heal and move forward. Especially the children. I guess I'm rambling. Sorry.

I've enjoyed reading your insights, Irene, and alot of times I don't enter my comments because they would be redundant to yours.

As far as what Jon and Kate will say on Monday. I think Kate will continue to abuse and put Jon down and point fingers at others for her short comings. Since Jon's interview will be old footage, it doesn't matter. TLC will spin it to make Kate look blameless.

May God bless the children and keep them safe and out of TLC's reach.

Z, I like the idea of a chat on Tuesday at noon. I'll be in my office and logging in to read everyone's feedback on the show.

That's really interesting that Jon's couch interview was from the lemonade stand filming. I've seen pictures from that filming and Jon was wearing a shirt that said LIES LIES LIES and I thought it was hysterical that he had the nerve to wear it while filming. That may explain why the footage was not aired. Now I'm kind of curious to hear his remarks about the show ending (or however they edit it to fit Monday's show). As far as Kate's monologue, I wonder if it will be a more recent interview that will include her announcing a new show for TLC as has been reported. Kate, I sure hope you have a good business lawyer now because I suspect TLC is only talking about a show to keep you on a leash until the lawsuit with Jon is settled. Just have a feeling that TLC will screw Kate if the proceedings don't go in their favor. Whatever happens I just hope that the kids never have to be filmed again. I'm sure there will never be enough money for college for them all, after all the lawsuits are dealt with but I do hope that there is a guardian ad litem assigned to make sure the children receive whatever counselling may be necessary to help them adjust to their new lives away from the cameras.

This is the bottom line:

"The Lying Channel was their mess & their mess was on the Lying Channel"~ Irene

I found the Z on TV site by accident a few months ago and have been a loyal blog reader ever since. I stopped watching J&K after the big divorce announcement because it just became too unbearable to watch the "Just Kate" show. I couldn't wait until after each episode aired so I could find out what Z and all his bloggers felt about that night's show. I was never let down. I won't be watching Monday night, but I'll be checking the blog one more time. Thanks to all of you for giving me lots of laughs. It was fun to find people that felt the exact same way I did. I just don't think there's going to be much of an audience for anything with Kate in it. At least I hope so. She's just so incredibly self absorbed and plain boring. I found it interesting that I haven't see one article or picture of Kate on any of the tabloid magazines for the past week or two. The party's over, Kate.

Z: This blog is great, I really like it.
I'm glad J&K are going off the air. I hated the way she exploited her children and hated how she treated them on and off TV. Her phony endearments toward the kids are horrible. How anyone can believe them is beyond me. You can tell they are forced and she really doesn't want to be there. I do feel bad for the children.
The Lying Channel hopefully will not air Kate's own show. That would really be bad.

I'm very upset because it is my favorite show. Kate please don't quit!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At this point, I am only interested in seeing Kate as the "guest" on What Not to Wear. Maybe Stacy and Clinton can get her to dress like a mature mother!

I will not watch any new episodes of J&K if filming the kids resumes, and hope no one else does, either. The children deserve their childhoods back. We need to advocate tough new laws restricting kids on "reality" TV.
Anyone who thinks they will miss seeing the Gosselins grow up should focus on children they really can know and interact with, in their families and/or communities. TV is not reality.

I hope for the sake of the kids that Kate will have a show on TLC. If she doesn’t she is going to blame Jon and / or the kids. The show won’t be on air very long because no one will have interest in what she has to say or what she does but at least, she won’t blame no one but her
(at least I hope) I have a hard time writing in English, I’m sorry. I just can’t stand that woman, she really think that she’s the one (we say that in French) If someone in the readers knows French, maybe I could write and be translate in English,

Aly 6:40 pm

I agree with your remarks about TLC. I don't, however, agree with this statement,
"If Kate doesn’t get a TV show of some kind she is going to take her anger and frustration and rejection out on the kids. We all know that."

No, we don't all know that, and unless you're very adept with a crystal ball, you don't know it, either. If that's a guess or your opinion, that's the way it should be stated. I have seen so many "rumors" become "facts" in regards to the Gosselins, especially Kate. Everyone would have been better off, including those for and against the program, had rumor been separated from fact. JMO

ALY @ 6:40 p.m.

You are one of the very smart people on the blog who have been so helpful and passionate about getting the Gosselin kids off camera. I really admire you for all of that. You have kept us informed about so many of the issues surrounding what is wrong with TLC.

I completely understand the working nights. I did that at the hospital until I just couldn't do it anymore. I now have a daytime job with a great group of radiologists.

I understand about facebook. I was on Twitter for a while and I am off now. I found it kind of redundant. Anyway if you want to join us, Irene, me, xsandlapper (Sandee), Avis, and Z we are out there.

P.S. Take my place on the live chat at noon on Tuesday, I have to work unless I can take an hour lunch. WIll have to try that, but I will be there watching and looking forward to Z's post on Monday night. :)

I am having serious concerns about the new show "in development" for Kate at TLC-- what if Jon was able to put a stop to filming the children only because that was a clause in the old "Jon & Kate + 8" contract? I fear that Kate, with a new show and new contract, may be able to use the children once again. I sincerely hope that the divorce arbitration that J&K agreed to today did not give Kate discretion where filming the children is concerned.

jennindixie@7:00 pm

Well, Kate has is a RN, so she could get a JOB. Nurses are in high demand, some making up to $100,000 a year. She could get rid of the $1.1 million dollar mansion, move back to the Elizabethtown home that hasn't sold. Stop her spa treatments and Starbucks addiction. There are many, many, many families in the US that have 8 children and are doing just fine on a modest income.

Hiya Z,

I feel relief that the show is over! I hope the Gosselins fade into the oblivion. I know that's wishful thinking, but the children NEED privacy and the routine of a simple life through their parent's divorce & moving forward. The kids don't NEED trips of gallavanting off here, there & everywhere. Kate is so thick-headed. Ugh, my heart breaks for the kids.

I know Kate is going to keep trying to stay in front of the camera, but as we all agree, she won't last long. Paging Nurse Kate, Nurse Kate, come to the delivery room please. ha ha ha

Cheers!

What am I feelin' ?? :-) I'm feelin' that I need to make sure I have enough adult beverage in my sippy cup to make it thru the finale !!!!!

I'm feeling that "the worst is yet to come" with the Gosselins - and I'm an optimist !!!!

*********
R.I.P UGA VII

nanb if you are the same nanb that posts on GWOP please give us a pre-show opener and post "Do you hear what I hear"

That is so befitting an introduction to the Season Finale.

I am rolling......LOL....
fabulous...As J.J. would say on Good times "Dynomite"

I don't expect to hear anything new from Kate (or the TLC feed into her earpiece). The more she speaks the less interesting she becomes as she now is speaking by rote. I don't expect to hear anything new from Jon because TLC will be splicing together his comments from previous interviews. I'm relieved the show is ending and truly hope that the children's involvement is finished. However, I fear that TLC and Kate have other plans.
The revolt against the continuation of Jon & Kate plus 8 is particularly strong because the reason for the show's success, the children, are in the most formative years of their lives and it appears that no aspect of their development is safe from the public eye. TLC has to take ultimate responsibility for the intrusion into this family's lives with complete disregard for the impact this intrusion has had on the lives of eight minors. TLC knew the marriage was breaking down and should have turned off the cameras. Instead it carried on with the sham.
TLC is no longer a channel of interest to me as the tone of the programming has changed from learning to exploitation. I guess that many of us viewers were naive to assume that if a show was presented by TLC then it was ok. I, for one, am no longer naive....so maybe it is the "learning" channel afterall... :)
As for a future show for Kate...this can only be aTLC ploy in the fight against Jon. Kate does not have the skillset to attract and hold an audience.
Z...your blog is great!

What a superb blog! I cannot stomach J&KP8 or any other so-called reality shows, but my partner became obsessed with J&K over the past year. I'm originally from Reading, and I'm ashamed to say I'm not surprised by anything these people do. I grew up around many good people, but there were always a few ignorant, selfish people such as these two. How can one feel anything but contempt for people who defy medical advice and have more children than they can afford financially and psychologically, just to make money? TLC exploited these greedy, stupid people, as well as their kids, whose lives have clearly been affected. If anyone thinks for a second that so-called trust fund won't have been spent before the year is out, I have a nice bridge I want to sell you. J and K are moronic, talentless people who just want to live the high life, and they would both run over those kids with a steamroller in order to fulfill those desires. They had to know the jig was nearly up, yet they wasted money that should have gone to their kids on luxuries (condos in expensive places, vacations, etc.) Their entire existence is one giant scam. Let her go back to changing bed pans, though I pity her patients. I see him becoming a compost expert, since he really knows how to sling the crap. J & K are the real P people: P as in posers. They masquerade as religious people, caring parents and celebrities. I wouldn't let these people raise a hamster, let alone dogs or kids. I hope the authorities eventually take these kids from them. They both seem far too abusive to be allowed near children.

Can't wait for Monday night. Kate will once again astonish us with her complete sense of the level of aweness we are in over her ability to entertain and enlighten us lowly viewers. We will be highishly thrilled to go to a dairy farm with her and the kids (as I am sure they will be, although, haven't we had this honor in a prior life/I mean Season, or do I mean year?) She's changed the phraseology so often I forget how we are to refer to time or is it mind lapses. We will be 'dully'impressed with her wrap up of the crap we've endured so joyishly with her in her Reign of horror, terror, borer-(take your pick). Then we'll get to follow Jon to the firehouse where the kids will sell lemonade rather than the Gosselins writing a big check for the benefit of the fire fighters who they have so much respect for (just wish they'd give them each a copy of their books and videos too-tax write off-real humanitarianish charitabley donation! Luckily the kids can start being kids, just hope their parents haven't messed them up too drasticallyish with all the trips, toys, etc., so that they are unable to enjoy REAL life. Jon is as good as gone because there is NO show he would fit with that I'd feel even a slight desire to watch. And then there's Kate and HER new show in spring. I know it won't be on my list of things to watch and my only interest in it will be to see what on earth TLC thinks she is qualified to do on tv, she can't act, she has no talents in other lines, she has no people skills, her self-centered attitude doesn't mesh well with others, and with that in mind, no show premise comes to mind (I have yet to see a one person show where all they did was talk about themself, show what they were given by all the grateful people who love them, go on all the trips to promote places where we would be impressed to see them, etc.) I'm hoping with Kate off the screen until Spring, the ppeople will realize there is no interest in her, so no reason to show up wherever she tells them she will be doing something so interesting (like picking up mail or better yet, putting gas in her car-too bad she dumped Jon because that was HIS job.) Can't wait for Monday night, whoopsie, I said that at the start, oh, but that doesn't matter because real actors like Jon and Kate sitting in the interview chair do that all the time, Jon tells us what they are going to do, then Kate explains what he said, then Jon tells us what they are doing, after Kate explains that is what they are doing and they go to a break and then come back and tell us what is going on. So, THEN we GET it! Can't wait until Monday night.

Ummm.. Jennindixie....

How do MOST people provide for their children without a "show"?

reply to mmc @5.27 pm.

You have "high hopes" for this family.

Can you explain why you think that way? I mean, haven't you witnessed what has gone on the past year?

Where do high hopes fit in this mix?

Also, you say they are a "unique family with unique problems". What problems do they have, other than the parents are imbeciles?

We have a parent on our blog, IRENE, who also has 8 children. Does having 8 children make her also have unique problems? Please tell us what are the Gosselins' problems?

Thank you.

My thoughts is its about time.

I really believe in light of this show that new regulations regarding these so called reality shows are needed in order to safe guard children.

My grandson and I loved Jon & Kate Plus 8 and we will miss it. Jon needs to grow up and I do hope that Kate gets custody of the children. She is far more responsible than he is. As for TLC, they had a good show with the Gosslins, but I'm tired of all shows with abnormal families, dangerous weight loss tactics, survivor, finding people running around in the woods, the talk shows, cooking shows and the list just keeps on growing. Maybe T V is like so many other things that seem to have over kill. Reading and listening to the radio and walks are looking good right now!!

I am glad the show is ending. Kate and Jon are ridiculous creatures and don't represent the type of values and morals I would like to see.

I am totally turned off to TLC also and don't trust any of their productions.

I love this blog and have posted a few times. The post from "me" referring to Kate as the new Betty Broderick....that was absolutely hysterical. Kate's actions would be a fantastic Lifetime Movie. Another interesting comment is in regards to Oprah now being involved with with the Discovery Network. Let's face it Discovery isn't going to do anything to make Oprah mad, this is huge for them. Why don't we as a group start sending e-mails/letters to Oprah regarding the exploitation by TLC. Oprah is all about children and children's rights, if enough people get on board then maybe Oprah can help in getting children off of reality TV. People usually don't mess with Oprah and she is ratings gold and people follow her. Should this become our next project? Think of the difference we could make in children's lives by getting Oprah to make a statement about children on reality television. Z, you understand TV world would Oprah go against Discovery in stating that reality shows with children are nothing more than expolitation?

Hi TJSMommy: It would be great. It might take a while. But if she looks at these shows, I cannot see Oprah approving. If Oprah does some interviews -- and she might with the move -- and I get aq chance, I will ask her nicely about shows like "Toddlers & Tiaras." You know, she might be doing conference calls with groups of reporters to talk about the move, and that would a logcal question. Thanks. Z

Pardon me, I have to get one thing out of the way. Welcome Celeste, do not worry, Kate is a contract honorer & will not lay down and die. Kate is not going anywhere. Her High...
Oh whatever, get to the important stuff..

Holly, I am so sorry to hear about your family. That was great you were able to help & I totally understand. Take care and I am so glad you will be there for Monday night episode BBF. It just would not be the same without you.

Great posts ya'll.

Man this is not a good day. One of the residents just knocked on the door. The complex resident Mascot, a golden retriever, Angel, has passed away. My husband and son are going to help the resident's family. Yuck.

Hi Irene, That is sad news about Angel. I am sure today is going to be a sad day in the complex. I am glad your husband and son are helping the family. Z

What I don't understand is why the Discovery Channelis letting this all play out. TLC is part of them and to showcase "reality" shows like Jon and Kate is ridiculous. Even if Kate does get some kind of show on TLC, we already know that it will be a bust after watching her on the View and all of her getting it straight shows. Jon will just go away eventually. The two of them are like a bad rash, eventually they will disappear.

In today's USA weekend, the Masche mom of the other sixtuplets said that "if you aren't working, I think you can lose a sense of reality." Do ya think!

Hi J-lynne @ 2:07 AM

I agree with you that Kate "is far more responsible than he [Jon]is. Yes indeedie.

Kate is:

1)More responsible for the break-up of her marriage.
2)More responsible for keeping the show on the air.
3)More responsible for the unhappiness of her children.
4)More responsible for her public abuse and defamation of her husband and father of her children.
5)More responsible for her overall rude behavior to the fans.
6)More responsible for letting others raise her children.
7)More responsible for not requesting a different bodyguard, when her husband was uncomfortable with Steve. There are female bodyguards. Even female Secret Service Agents.
8)More responsible for exposing her babies to some vile characters and perverts.
9)More responsible for not fiercely protecting her babies.
10)More responsible for not obeying the wishes of her husband and ending the show and responsible for forcing him to quit his job.

We've all heard that saying: "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." That is the saga of the Gosselin family. Kate's happiness took precedent over everything and everybody else. Just look at the faces of Jon and their children.

Hi Irene@09:52 p.m.

Sorry to hear about Angel. Glad that you are consoling the family.

Your post was hilarious. Thanks for leaving me Kate's ring. I will cherish it as a reminder of all of the tireless effort that you have put forth in helping to deconstruct the TLC lies and restore happiness to the children of the Gosselin family. You know Kate can always put the children to work to get that new ring she wants to replace the other one. Thanks Irene, BBF.

MelS. thanks for your post. I saw a special on the Masche Parents this spring. I think this family is walking in quicksand. I know they say they are staying real, but these kids do not get a say in being on these shows. I just hope they have happy, healthy kids, but I have been burned once & I am just not willing to....Well, put it this way, the bar is pretty low for any family to show they are doing better by their children then the Gosselins. Understand?

Finallyover love it...and that is one unhappy momma in Reading, Pennsylvania. I could not imagine being in or near that house these past 6 or 7 months. And, can you imagine her when she can't continue to go to the spa once a week? Whoa man.

To the blogger who willed me "Love is in the Mix": With Xmas so close, it'll be the first on my list of things to REgift!! Thanks for the shout out, though, I really appreciate that.

Re: Betty Broderick: I posted several comments on GWoP about the similarities between Betty and Kate - a few made it through temporarily but were quickly deleted. One of the mods apparently lives near the Brodericks and seemed to have some empathy for poor, middled aged and abandoned Betty.

Personally, I believe Betty and Kate were cut from the same cloth: Narcissists to the level of Psychopath. Last interview I saw with Betty, even after years of prison reflection time, she STILL had zero remorse and continues to BLAME THE DECEASED. Seems so Kate.

Anyway, thanks for the re-gift material, ho ho ho.

Respects, too, to Z - lovin' the blog!

Holly,

I am really glad you are back with us again. So sorry to hear about your uncle. Being unexpected often makes these things even harder. Please tell your family they are in my thoughts and prayers. I understand the stress that you must be feeling.

Please try to join us for the Monday night and Tuesday for the live chat at noon on Jon and Kate we need you.

I was just reading about Harry Harlow and his monkey experiments. These were the experiments where young monkeys were separated from their biological mothers and were given two surrogate mothers: one made out of wire but able to provide nourishment out of a bottle and another made out of soft material but not able to provide any nourishment. The young monkeys clearly preferred spending their time with the cloth monkey, holding onto it, sleeping with it, and clinging to it when a scary stimulus was introduced. The young monkeys rarely ever went to the wire mothers except when nourishment was absolutely necessary.

It just seems to me that there are so many similarities between Kate and the wire monkey. She provides nourishment (well, to some extent, notwithstanding her concentration camp rationing of the 'tups recent meals at the Austin restaurant), but the provision of an abiding sense of the comfort and security that a human equates as love does not appear to be in her repertoire. I just saw on YouTube that Hate4Kate has an "Ode to Aunt Jodi" where her calm love and willingness to provide a haven of security and comfort for the children made Kate's wire surrogate deficiencies all the more blatant.

My favorite moments/episodes have been: Mr. Mom (where the kids appeared to be loved and Kate appeared to be less of a shrew); the fishing scenes of Movie and a Catch (where the children experienced hands-on learning from their Dad), and the baseball portion of Gymnastics and Baseball (where the children were basically children, and loved, touched and taught).

It’s interesting that Harlow was considered to be cruel in his treatment of the monkeys but many people consider Kate to be a great mom.

Go figure.

p.s. I read yesterday on Kadaronline that Jon is not contesting her claim to be the primary custodian. Not sure if that means full custody (?), but if true, we may need to write those letters.

Irene, I completely agree with you. Let the adults completely screw up their lives and leave the kids out of it. Toddlers and Tiaras is just plain wrong. The parents of these children need help. I don't know if Kate will ever take responsibility for what she did to her family. It's funny that other people can see through her and she can't.

Yes, Irene that's my song. Thanks for the shout out, frankly the song made me sad. I don't post much, as I only care about the children.

I hope Jon grows up, finds a job and finds happiness.

I hope Kate has a very successful TV show and cookbook. I hope she has to go on looooonnng book and promotional tours. As it was quoted earlier "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy."

I pray Aunt Jodi, Uncle Kevin, and Gloria Allred are successful in getting protection for all the children exploited by TV production companies.

I loved this show and I am very sad to see it leave. I always wish that Jon and Kate will get back together. It could happen. I know Kate loves Jon. He just got a little restless, now it is time for Jon to come back to Kate and his family.

To answer the first question... It's that same feeling I got when my mother-in-law went home after a month-long visit - glad she was leaving and dreaded her return.

If those two clods can find a way to shill themselves some more without relying on the attraction factor of their kids - good on them I guess. What makes either one of them think they are talented enough for anything more in televisionland is a mystery, although I am seeing flashes of a Spongekate Squirrelhead cartoon in the back of my mind.

When Kate said in that snotty tone of hers that she couldn't go back to being a nurse because she couldn't provide for her eight in "any way, shape or form in a way that ummmm they would need me to be able to do it" she insulted everyone who has managed to do exactly that. Too bad she knows nothing about karma.

What IS good is that those kids won't have cameras stuck in their faces all the time. They've earned their privacy, let's hope they'll be able to keep it.

To answer the second question...I don't think the seperate couch interviews will be much different than anything they've done in the last few months. Jon will hum and ha and mumble something about making the right decision and Kate will blubber all over her face without a kleenex and proceed to talk about herself. I'll wager my gold fillings the grand finale will be anticlimactic just like all the rest.

Now the only question I have is who's bringing the spinach dip to the post-show party?

Het Chrysee: Great to have your special take on Jon and Kate. It always makes me smile. I'll bring the dip. Z

Thanks Hotdog but I missed a great opportunity to give you play doh. Also, I did not will Kate's Diary as Wiki Editor should have received it.

As far as the regift, my will have a no return clause. He he

Seriously bloggers;
33 hours 6 min 20 sec til the One hour eulogy of Kate:Kate:I dont care about anything but Kate courtesy of the greatest lying channel on earth.

Thanks Optimist for the address I will write my letter.

As far as your question about primary custody. If it is similar to my divorce Kate & Jon have Joint Custody: with Kate having primary custody. (My papers go as far as saying I have primary custody & control of the children, but that all decision making is joint.)One thing I have not seen in this case is these 2 nitwits fighting over who is gonna keep the kids. Both of them are too focused on themselves.

I thought it revealing from People, Radar and TMZ that neither spouse asked for spousal support & both agreed to the arbitrators final distribution of assets which should come in 30 days.

My guess, Jon will be asking to live in that garage apartment when the dust settles.

I saw this online regarding custody:

"Be aware that in most instances, the parent who is designated the "Primary' parent (sometimes termed 'Primary Residential' parent) is, for all intents and purposes, considered to be the sole custodial parent in the eyes of the court. Even though the parents may have joint legal and physical custody with a 50/50 split, if the court has designated one parent as the 'Primary' parent, that is the person whose wishes will normally prevail. Joint custody is often awarded by the court in an effort to placate fathers and get them to settle. If the court has designated the mother as the 'Primary' parent, the father actually has no more say in the child's life than if the mother had been awarded sole custody."

If that's the case, Kate and TLC may get their way after all.

Does anyone have a guess as to why Jon was smiling broadly after leaving arbitration?

Oops, gee Irene, I missed the last will and testament post. Thanks for the star on rodeo dr. How did you know I've always wanted the one in Reading? So sweet of you....lol

Irene @ 1:03 PM,

Thanks for the answer on the primary custody - I was thinking it must be something like that. But it seems disturbing that she might have ultimate control over the kids (control = filming). Hope Jon & the kids don't get short shrift here.

ROL says they signed a confidentiality agreement - which means nothing in Gosselin World. We'll know everything that went on in arbitration by tonight. Wanna bet?

And I don't think that's necessarily the 'peace' sign Jon's lawyer is giving the paps. It could also mean 'victory'. We'll soon find out.

Hey Irene-

Hmmmmmmmm, a new handle instead of HATEKATE, maybe LIKEIRENE, ZROCKS ????

Haven't read all the comments yet, hope to read them tonight if I don't go see the movie Precious .

nanb I understand about the kids. Some days I feel some embarassment and am ashamed I watched the show so much. It wasnt until the last episode in Season 4 that I really put 2 + 2 together and realized the enormous mess this show caused this family. (the signs were all there from the Hawaii trip on)

That is the sad part. Kids lost their innocence and privacy. When you google the word Gosselin 1,680,000 hits pull up. That is unprecedented for what was an everyday family whom was put in unordinary position. Sad part is all they have to show for it is a broken family, hardly any relative involvement, loss of family pets, bunch of legal bills and the Lying Network to keep trying to squeeze a buck out of their tragedy.

This was all preventable is the saddest part about this.

Oh, I am starting to get mad all over again.

"Sole" Custody is when legal and physical custody are given to one parent. Primary custody is not the same thing.

Radaronline is reporting today that "Heller claims that he had all parties sign a confidentiality agreement regarding specifics of the final terms of the divorce"

Please Please someone lets wager some monkey munch on the confidentiality of anything involved in this mess.

LOL

Yes, you are right. It will be confidential until TLC leaks details to one its tabloid friends, or Jon needs a fast buck and sells info to radaronloine or access hollywood or someone even sleazier. Z

LOL I vote for ZROCKS!

You guys a a great bunch.

Yes, I want to see that movie or The Blind side. Will take the family.

To All Children:
The statement by Aly "If Kate doesn't get a TV show she is going to take her anger and frustration and rejection out on the kids and we all know that' -- you can take that to the bank. You can disagree and argue till the cows come home, but she has shown her true colors to everyone repeatedly! This is not rocket science.

To J-lynne: What a joke. Kate doesn't want full custody. She is already abusive to those kids. You may consider her more responsible but she is merely more controlling. Jon loves them and it shows. She sees 8 $$$$$$$$.

Whats left to say, you all have said all what I believe. I honestly don't think at this point Jon or Kate could redeem themselves to make a go of anything in the TV industry. It is a good thing the kids are off TV, but I have to agree that with those two as parents and no extended family involvement they will still have serious ramifications and that is the true tragedy. I saw a clip where Kate referring to Aaden getting glasses that she wanted all "normal" children. I was brought to tears. This is way beyond the two of them with thier greed and Kates narcassism. Thats why so many people are upset, to think that other blogs would suggest this is a hater blog is crazy. I seen some of the most caring people here and Z's just doing his job. Calling out what is. And jealousy? doesnt that mean a person envys what the other person is or has. Who here would want to be her or have what she has knowing how she got it. This isn't so much about having a TV show as it is about, ethics, having morals, principles and not selling your soul, children and marriage out for somethingso superficial as money. Yes we all need it, but what matters in the end is love, character, family and those things. TLC is advertising on other channels for this show, they know that their channel is in the dumpster. I'm fed up with the whole mess. What happen to pride in having the ability to act or sing to be on TV. These channels prey on unstable people, I think the laws not only need to protect kids but these idiot adults that get involve. Id venture to guess at this point TLC is stringing Kate along to keep her happy so she doesnt try to sue them either. I don't think the Paula Dean pilot did so well. And there isn't anything she could do long term. She and Jon will get risiduals from what they've done already so they will not be without income. I could live another 100 years and never hear about any of them and be just fine. I'm sure the tabloids have moved on and thats what kept them out there so long. Its a business and thats how it goes. Disgusting as it is.

Thank you, kad, for this eloquent statement. The Aaden things makes me sad. That kid is so sweet. Z

Again I'm with others here...grateful to see what is hopefully the end of this exploitive train wreck of a "marriage" played out before our eyes every week .(Even though I'm sure we will continue to hear about the parents in the tabloid headlines). I'm mostly thankful that the kids will be spared a continuation of the fake edited and very intrusive production of their lives ...The last few seasons had clearly became so overly scripted and produced by Khate and TLC...it no longer was realistic. (Really, how many expensive resort vacations,and trips to the spa can a family take in one season. How many free product placement items /events can they fit into one season?) Do these kids every play with any other kids out there?

I say the final show will be anti-climatic, but will be complete with Khate doing her best, " poor me, our family has to do things differently" and she will no doubt play the martyr routine to the hilt with "but I will press forward ....all for the kids". She's so totally clueless that she doesn't realize that is what parents do, you know it's their job and responsibility. And most parents don't think they're doing something heroically extra special or extraordinary like she does when they act like adult parents. I'm sure there will be the fake introspective tearful Khateisms and fake remorseful tears complete with "did I say that" or "I could have handled that better" cackle of remark too. Just wonder if the control freak germophobe will have such filthy feet again when she's sitting on the confessional chair?

I also say clever editing of Jon's piece will be in line with what we saw last week..putting him in the most negative/disinterested light.

I just hope there is someone out there (hello is there any court appointed person for the kids here in this divorce case) who can keep a closer tabs on those kids needs, considering just how selfish both parents are? Someone needs to make sure their needs are being met. And, I'm not just talking about the menial things like, food, clothes, roof over their head etc, but their emotional needs. I'm sure the kids must be struggling with the separation /break up of their parents.

I will look forward to seeing others insights on the final show including the live chat.

Paula - When referring to Kate, I believe the term would be more aptly called "Soul custody".

Z & bloggers SNL did a skit on Kate & the view. It is funny.

Z I sent it to your facebook.

LOL

I have never read or seen anywhere that the 8 Gosselin kids have legal representation. This has bothered me from the day this mess started.

I'm glad it's ending . I need to put my energy into my family. I have a brother suffering from Colon Cancer and a little 2 yr. old grandson being tested for Autism. My heart is heavy right now.

Z, to you and all your bloggers I wish a Happy Thanksgiving!

Karen,

Please put your energy into your family. Jon and Kate are not worth any worry.

I will pray for your situation. My good friend Sue where I used to work her son has autism, he is the most awesome kid in the world. These kids are the best. I hope your grandson is fine, but I am just saying the kids are awesome.

Karen we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving too.

I understand about Gosselinitis. I am starting to feel the affects too.

Yes, I have never read a morsel that the children have any legal representation or advocate looking out for their best interests. Only a network and their 2 hired ***** (cant be said on this blog) to lie to us about how they do everything for the sake of their wallets, I mean those kids.

I hope all turns out okay with your brother & son. God bless you.

Hello from canada everyone.

I have just read that kate is getting or will continue to have "primary custody" of the kids. Can someone explain what that means?

Does this mean that she can override jon's decision not to have the kids on the anymore?

Im confused....

I'm was just thinking about why Kate would continue to exploit her children and let TLC trash her soon to be ex on national TV. I do believe it's because Kate feels that all she has left is TLC. If you really think about it, she has alienated all her family, any friends she had, her husband, and all she has left is TLC. I think TLC is who Kate turns to for advice. It's sad to say that, but I believe it to be true. TLC is telling her that the show is good for her kids, and she believes it. Or she wants to believe it in order to keep her mug on television. It's really tragic because IMO TLC is aware of this and they are manipulating her. And believe me, I'm not giving Kate any passes. She is the one who drove everyone else away from her and her children. But this was just something I found interesting in the whole manipulation angle by TLC.

Unfortunately for the kids, Kate is teaching them that family and friends don't matter.

Saw the pics of Jon and Kate leaving the arbitration and although I am no Dr. Lillian Glass, I would say that Kate looks all "grouchyish" and Jon and his lawyer look all "happyish". Not sure what this means but if Kate isn't smirking, I hope it means the kids won't be filming.

Until we know the same thing we already know about this farce.

Z & Kelly sending ya'll some virtual Bepto bismol, emesis basins, and dramimine to have at your immediate disposal.

Fellow bloggers start raiding your medicine cabinets & if you need anything...just ask. BBF's look out for one another here.

Karen,

Answering your question, I am going out on a limb because I don't read much about the Gosselin's on other sites, but I am pretty sure from what I have learned from others here that the Gosselin's do not have any legal representation for the kids. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. I think when all of this goes to court it will be interesting to see how the custody of the kids all plays out. It does'nt seem like Jon and Kate agree about the kids too much on many issues except maybe school and religion. I think that is what Kate said. I think there are big issues on babysitters and we know that there are big issues on the filming.

Anyway join us on Monday. Maybe it will lift up your spirits to be around other bloggers who are friends. I know this is an outlet for me. Don't spend anytime worry about Jon and Kate, but it might help you feel better to as we end the show knowing that the kids will be better off.

Irene..

Thank you for the bequeathal! I will do my bestish best to be the best guest host on the View.

I will my highest stilettos and maybe they can do my hair like our Ms Kate had her's done. You know, sorta lopsided waves around that big head of her's.

I wonder how I can make Barbara W, Whoopi and the other ladies know they don't have to worry & get grouchish about their jobs because ya know, I don't need the star chair for awhile.

I have a great ring with 8 rhinestones and I can glue an old pearl button on the top, that should be really prettyish.'

Big decision now is to worry which ear to wear the frequency device.

I'll try to do you all proudish!

You guys are already loaded for Monday night, I can see. Ha. Z

I can't say I blame Jon, Kate was so mean to him and too controlling for years. He is now free and spreading his wings, it must be refreshing for him to be free of that nag. Kate really made it unbearable to stay married as seen on the show. She seems to be the one that is the spotlight hog. He is just getting his picture snapped when he is out on the town trying to have some fun for a change. She seeks it out for fame and money. I am sure there are many more subtle ways she can earn money to support the kids. She love the fame, attention and money. And then goes on TV and says oh poor pitiful me. TLC had to take sides for the new show, (Kate + Eight), they picked Kate, and it only helps with publicity to make Jon out to be an evil person.

Again.. I say.. WHOOPS!

Why do I forget to put my name on my post? SORRY.

The above post by "anonymous" 1122 at 1 AM is MINE. ALL MINE! (doing sweepingish gesture ala Kate)

Although, the whole thing is moot, since the poster, mmc, hasn't replied. Big surprise to everyone, right?

It is my understanding that there is primary custody and legal custody. If Kate has primary custody, she is the custodial parent most of the time. There is also legal custody in PA and in that case, it can be shared 50-50 and the other parent would have to be consulted in regards to big decision like education, etc. In other words, it may come out that although Kate is the primary custodial parent, Jon shares legal custody and she can't put them back on TV without his permission.

marieE,

That was so funny. I think you and Irene are ready for sure. Hey, but Irene already promised that ring to me. So I might get kind of jealousisish.

Ear frequency device, I laughed out loud. You two keep us rolling until Monday. And Chrysee has offered to host a party. Z is bringging the dip, and I will bring the chips. The sign up list for items to bring is hanging on Kate's well organized kitchen cabinet next to all of Jon's to do lists. Please feel free to sign up for whatever.

Okay, getting onto the really serious stuff: have you noticed Khate has changed her hairstyle. It is all flat on the top and put behind her ears. Wonder if she got tired of all the mullet comments. It makes her look frumpy with it all slicked down.

Is this true? I have not noticed. Z

Yea blogger team!

marieE as Kate would say, "Bless your wallet this is precious"

"I would do anything for this blog"

Monday night finale...yes Z I advise you to wear your seatbelt for this one...we are reloaded here on the blog. There is no tellin' what kind of ridiculous trouble we will get you in! Ha!

I do not think there are too many kinds of trouble left that we haven't gotten into with our comments. But we are only speaking the truth. Z

Again.. I say.. WHOOPS!

Why do I forget to put my name on my post? SORRY.

The above post by "anonymous" 1122 at 1:00 am is MINE. ALL MINE! (doing sweepingish gesture ala Kate)

Although, the whole thing is moot, since the poster, mmc, hasn't replied. Big surprise to everyone, right?

Hi everybody! I've had a crazy week and am bummed that I haven't had more time to spent at Z on TV - the best blog ever!!

What I am feeling would be...nosey! I'm really dying to know what is going on behind the scenes with all those crazies. I'm guessing Kate, Jon and all of their respective attorneys, PR agents, managers, TLC, etc... are scrambling trying to figure out what's next. And frankly, I want to know!

I am also worried about those children. If your life is a show and the show is your life, what exactly happens when the show ends?!!?? As Kate herself admitted, she is adicted to the spotlight and feels like the show has been "taken" from her "too soon." That makes her one very desperate woman right now and I'm sure it's the kids who are going to suffer.

Jessica,

Thank you for explaining the different kinds of custody. I hope that if Kate has primary custody that does not override Jon in his ability to keep the kids off of the show. That would be pretty bad because then all of this mess could go on. I did see that TLC is offering all new episodes on the Hayes family starting on Tuesday on TLC. That kind of scares me. It looked like an episode with the kids learning to swim.

Z, I was looking back down memory blog. And, ya'll saved me from the Gosselin drama rama on the Fire station day 8/25. Bless your hearts

Now, on Aug 1 you posted a blog & article with Lauri Goldberg explaining the change in the show. I guess it all went down hill from there...or will you be able to get an interview with her on these plans for launching Kate this spring.

I understand we have to get through tomorrow 1st...shannn~na~na~na~na~na~na~ hey hey Kate ~ good ~ bye.

& yes, she stated she is going to be making some changes to her hair. I havent seen the gorilla glue spikes lately. Time will tell. There is no predicting in the the world according to Gosselin.

Gorilla Glue spikes. I like that. Nice description. This is a sharp-eyed, good-writing, high-road-taking group. Z

Suzi J since you are in the nosey mood scroll up to the Last will & testament I wrote last night...then tell me if you found out any insight from what I left you. :-) (11/21 @ 9:52pm)

Sherry T, I just cannot even face the Hayes family issue yet...Lessons learned you can have a strong family/marriage and when the lying channel gets done with you....my heart just cannot go there right now.

And, sending the Hayes family to the Today show, for the Hayes to say school comes 1st & those kids were out of school on that weekday working for who? Yes, the lying channel...I best shut my trap right now...I am not trying to tell you what to do...my heart just cannot go there is all.

I, too, noticed a more slickish hairdo on Ms Kate on her fave ROL blog.

I think its her "goin to courtish" hairdo. You know, when she wants to show she is a real mom and businessish woman, she tends to go drab and glue down the turkey feathers.

On another note, anyone else notice how invisible Mr Steve has been lately? Do you think they are all reading this blog , how we question her need for him to hold her handbag and the kids are out in the open, fare game to all? Its always amazed me how a few days after postings on certain blogs, there is activity that follows suit per topic.

Pretty transparent, but also, quite amusing.

OH.. put me down for cupcakes for the viewing party. But, remember, they are for looking at only.. there will be NO eating, I'm not cleaning up all that messish.

I am kind of going to miss the gorilla glue spikes actually. Kind of used her to make myself feel better because I have these cowlicks in my hair, but not gorilla spikes, I wondered why she would emphasize that?

Z and Kelly hope you are ready for tomorrow. Let us know if we can send anything to help. :)

Irene & Jessica,

Thanks for clarifying abt the primary vs. legal custody question - that's a relief.

Irene, now I know I'm a Janie come lately to this blog & so truly have no sense of entitlementish at all to the bequeathal, but was just wondering if a Coleman tent might still be available. Reason I ask is, if noone else has dibs, I would like it to shelter myself under in Spring of 2010 when TLC dumps K8 & her next torrent of tears are unleashed. (And not to be too K8ish, but I'd prefer the tent the PAs put up, since K8 probably bent all the poles on hers in an effort to force them into place.) No worries, tho, I won't send it back for not matching my other camping accessory, a blue thermos. Thank you! :-)

Please remember when getting the dips~~organic fresh only!

Ok, you all rock! I started out on the GWOP then found Z, what a relief. You are all so very funny and have been a real stress reliever in this crazy world. I thought I was the only one yelling at the TV. Keep up the fun, and in good spirits we do wish the kids the best. Kind Regards.

How many times do you think Kate will say some variation of "it is all for the kids"? I'm thinking at least 24.

Sherry T and Irene,
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I will return to read the wonderful articles from Z and to get strength from the bloggers like you!

You are all the best!

I noticed Kate's hair style change too. Looks like she is losing the spikes. Why? Because I bet TLC will start filming her new show and they want her to have a "softer" look. Another trick from TLC.

I hope, Z, you do a review of her new show.

Hi Jessivca, There is no doubt I'll be reviewing, and all the great bloggers here will be joining me in that. I can hardly wait. And that is a keen insight about the "softer" look. The softening of Kate Gosselin. Good luck, TLC. Z

Optimist sure you may have the tents & bibs. I forgot alot of things like sippy cups, spa visits, haircuts, wooden spoons, and limo rides to name a few.

In the spirit of less than 24 hours til Kate:Kate her ungraceful finale all Gosselin items will be 1st come 1st serve today for $20.00 each.:-)

Jessica and we will be watching for Cookbooks, clothing lines, & all things from the Queen of Organic...in the new year.

We have an obligation to keep the smoke of the lying channel and their love child to a minimum & in perspective.

Yes, I think they manipulate Kate. She reminds me of a Mrs. Potato Head, she is changed on the outside ever time we post a post. No need to fear though, Lying channel, to bad it doesnt change her insides.

When I was little and my dad got excited about the 1st day of duck season he always rubbed those hands together in excited. Rest your soul, dad, we love and miss you. I have to carry the torch over to this show.

I am making a list and checking it twice. If anyone wants me to look for some specific behavior, product placement, etc please let me know today & I will add it.

OK bloggers the day of reckoning, "SHRED BABY SHRED"

Katish alerts:

Kate has been taking the kids to dunkin doughnuts & starbucks and target now to soften her image to. All documented on Kadaronline. Never more than 2 kids at a time, always holding their hands and posing for the cameras.

Lordie Bee

One more thing this morning. I was looking back to our past blogs.

I have an ABB (All Bloggers Bulletin) out to everyone past, present and future to check out the blog today. Come join us for the finale. This is the series finale

12 hours 10min and 8 seconds
Kate:Kate her series finale her words, her way, her goodbye

Hmm, the slicked down thing with the hair? She looks kind of boyish, or manish, along with looking just plain saddish. Saddish about the "too soonish" ending of the show. Oh my what will she do?

Looking forward to what TLC has in store. Can't imagine how they will format a show based on Kate's new reality without filming with kids. This could be interesting. What will Kate's new reality be? I can think of some very excitingish episodes. Um, okay, so she'll work out. Yeah, that's exciting. Or, how about, we watch her write out her recipes? Cool. Or maybe she'll get a new pet? We could watch her train it. Or we watch her go on a date? Lord, can you imagine that? Sounds exciting TLC.

I am so glad the show is ending. I think that if Kate's ego got any more inflated by solo couch time, she'd explode, which might be funish, but certainly ickish at the same time. I want her and Jon, the immature, absentee father to fade into oblivion. It's really the worst that could happen to either. As for the kids-- I hope they're reslient enough to overcome having such narcissistic clods for parents and that they draw strength from each other as they grow up. I think that's the only way they're going to make it and be emotionally/psychologically intact; if they support and help each other as time goes by. Good riddance to the goose and the gander, best of luck in the future to the goslings!
As for Kate's next career, I can totally see TLC giving her a cooking show, or having her on an "expert parent" show. I think those are the only two areas she could *claim* expertise in after the fiascos of the last few episodes. ("I want to make movies. I want to do cartoon voices.")
Jon is totally useless at anything in terms of making money. I'm sure he'll "write" a tell-all book , but that's about all he'll be able to muster once the tabloid fever is cooled by the end of the show.

Here in Atlanta, the TV listings can be funny sometime! Tonight's listing says:

9pm - Jon & Kate + 8 (Finale) - End of the run - TLC is sad - the rest of the world rejoices!

*LOL* My Facebook status says "Hallelujah! Tonight the farce known as "Jon & Kate + 8" is OVER !!!!! :-)

Ok...looks as if the Today show was silent as a mouse on the Series finale of Jon & Kate plus 8, doesnt look like there is any marathon to lead into the J&K finale. How fast we distance ourselves.

Also, Kadaronline is bashing Jon Gosselin this morning with all kinds of accusations about anything they can accuse him of. (Jon has given them great material to do it with)

Primary custody. NO BIG DEAL. Jon is still their father and still retains all legal rights in their lives. Just means that she is the one that lives in the house for the most part, that Jon will have a standard court ordered visitation or one that they both can amicably agree upon. (Jon doesn't want to live at the big house, nor does he want primary custody, so no big deal).

He still has a 50% say-so in where they live, go to school, etc. If he has a legally binding agreement about the no filming thing, then that is why Kate was pissed after the arbitration (she probably wanted him to tear it up and he said no). She may also be ticked due to him getting more of the marital assets than what she wanted him to have. She will either have to buy his part of the marital home out so she can have it, or they will have to mutually agree to place it in the kid's trust, so who knows what will happen with the house. Jon apparently got what he wanted in the arbitration meeting, cuz he was all smiles and Kate was not.

If TLC and Kate want to give her a show in the spring, I don't see what the big deal about that is either. The kids will be off the show, and she will be able to provide for them. So what. They have already lost their audience that followed them due to their 'faith'. The next audience for Kate will be the ones that love and hate her. They will lose the audience that watched for the kids.

If Kate (and Jon) say they can't 'go back' and get regular jobs, it is because they don't want to. They both like the perks they have acquired. I know several families with lots of kids (heck, I have 6), and they make out just fine living normally. Kate's normal is a million dollar estate and a movie star's wardrobe, private school for all the kiddos, vacations, etc. If they want to maintain that lifestyle, she has got to figure out how to do that. (I bet she is in total freak-out mode!)

There are a lot of shows on tv right now that I don't watch for whatever reason. If no one wants to watch her in the spring, then don't. Problem solved. Everyone gets worked up because she did this or that, well, just because we don't like it doesn't mean she will go away. TLC could care less if you like Kate or not. They just want you to watch.

I just read an article at MSNBC dated 11-22-09 that I thought was an intelligent recap of the Jon and Kate mess. I also saw a clip of Kate saying how amazing it is how kids are oblivious to whats going on around them. I keep thinking that I might find something positive, because thats the type of person I am, but she just never siezes to amaze me, does she honestly think her kids aren't effect by all this. Most people say kids are resiliant but I think its mostly kids dont know how to express themselves and it appears that way, it usually doesnt show up until later in life. AGGGG she makes me so mad, I also noticed that in the latest pictures of her she has aged alot, so if she thinks she isn't being effected by all this, she has another thing coming. I just can't for the life of me wrap my mind around what these two are thinking. ROL has a video of taped conversation of Jon's manager making deals for him, OMG this whole group is a bunch of lunitics, he is definately not being represented well at all. Good luck tonite Z, I know I couldn't stomach watching that. Of course I will read what you all have to say and then maybe we can move on to something better, I know the group here is the best. I live in the south and only come to this site to blog.

TMZ.com has just released a snipit of how Tlc will portray the father who ultimately shut them down in their tracks.

The snipit~ shows the sign that Jon posted and then Tlc posts a saying "These are our last moments with the Gosselins" then of course edits/shows a clip of Jon talking about his life in country/New York.

All I can say is Tlc is showing their true colors. They really never cared about the best interests of a family.

I want to say this and I hope some cronnie at Tlc sees what I am blogging.

I am a mom of 8 kids. I was hooked from Hello onto this show about this family. I rejoiced in the good times, and I have been saddened & forever changed about children in reality shows by the bad times. Never for a second did I not want to be proved wrong...even up to the very second that I am typing this. These real people made you a very wealthy strong company, and for you to portray this in any way that is not respectful to those 8 children, who have to live with the consequences of your actions just makes me sick. I mean it I want to be wrong, and I only want you to know, that come Heaven or Hell you should not be allowed to put a camera in anyone's home who has children. You TLC are truly the monsters here.

I've been "lurking" on this site for a few weeks and have finally decided it was time to say hello!

I have a sister-in-law whom has watched J&K+8 since it's very first show. I didn't watch my first episode until this summer when all the "drama" begun and I have to say it was due to my curiosity.

After watching just a couple episodes, it became very apparent that J&K "together" were toxic to themselves, but most importantly this toxicity was amplified with the children. This is when I really became interested in the Gosselin family.

I began to catch old episodes on TLC, read articles and blogs on the web and generally got caught up on the entire history of the Gosselins. What I find so disturbing is that J&K have allowed TLC to dictate the family dynamics of their very own children and have "sold out" their childrens lives to the highest bidder.

As a mother of two children (now 19 and 17) I know first hand how easily embarrassed they are even at an early age. It's a very thin line parents walk to make sure our children are balanced enough and have self-esteem sufficient to deflect the cruelty other children and even adults can inflict upon other children. My children had plenty of "bad moments" when they were younger: temper tantrums, bathroom accidents, fights, dissapointments etc. I NEVER ONCE thought to pull out a camera and capture those "bad moments" on film. My main focus was to get my child through them and make sure they knew they were loved unconditionally. These "bad moments" were tramatic enough that we can all remember them exactly as if they happened yesterday and occasionally laugh about them now in private.

Unfortunately, the Gosselin children DO NOT have that priviledge. Just this morning, TLC ran the "Bedroom" episode where one of the boys was constipated and Jon helped him "pull it out" while Kate was inside shopping for beds. How callous of TLC to run this episode on the day they know a lot of veiwers will be tuned in to TLC.

Privacy in our home should be a right for everyone. These children never had a choice because their parents sold them out.

Hi Marilyn, I am so glad you added this valuable insight to the discussion. Hello and thanks. Z

Welcome Marilyn, you are a BBF (best blogger friend) if I ever see on.

Thanks for your point about the episodes TLC chooses to air. They are despicable and they have earned all the criticism they have gotten. That furniture store episode was the absolute epitomy of the agenda Kate & TLC have. She did not care a bit what was going on around her. Just stick to the script of the day.

Thanks again. Tomorrow we are having a live chat. Please join us!

I have been thinking about all of you and your multiple talents and suggest that maybe we are ready for a BIG project.
What if we all worked to get federal legislation passed preventing ALL children from participating on reality TV?
I know my state senator - Roger Wicker - and the representatives in Congress are facing the 2010 elections. These people all have local offices and each of us could arrange at least one interview stating what we want. We could even offer to work in their reelection campaign if they could be involved carrying the bill, etc. If we succeeded, this could solve the whole problem, but remember those cable channels will be all over this effort with their lobbiests.
Any Interest? Any One? Any One?

Hey Patti, This is a very creative and exciting idea. Please let me think about this some more. I want to make sure this blog offers a venue for us to stay together, and share out thinking. I had never thought about this level, and there may be journalistic issues for me with editors involving the line that leads to advocacy journalism. But it is a great idea and worthy cause. Thanks. Z

Z and the wonderful bloggers,
Thank you for one of the best ways to spend my lunch break.

I told myself I wouldn't watch TLC anymore, but now Z has dangled the "live chat" carrot and now I must watch the finale.

By the way, if you listen you can actually hear the sheeple crying.

*My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you that are going through life changing struggles right now. ((hug))

Marilyn,

I completely know where you are coming from. I have a 15 and a 16 year old and they don't even want me to put any pictures on facebook and that is seen by friends. It is such a sensitive area with teens. And I agree the Gosselin children should have a choice!

Glad you found the blog, we have a lot of fun together.

Patti,

I like the idea. I think Sherrod Brown is out Ohio State senator. I have not really followed at the state level too much. But, never to late to learn. I would have to do some research. But, I agree that passing legislation at the national level to keep kids off of reality shows is a great idea. I have read some articles written by law professors on this very issue. We need to do something before TLC ruins another family.

Like Irene says she can't even go there with the Hayes family and TLC is already promoting their new series beginning Tuesday. Wow.

Fabulous idea. I will try to find out more. Hopefully Z can help us.

Hmmm-to watch or not to watch? I don't want to contribute to TLC's ratings, however, I am curious as to what they will do--maybe I'll tune in for the last 15 minutes.
However, I don't believe its the LAST time we, the viewers, will see them. Kate has a show--whatever that will be--and I'm sure they'll find a way to eventually, at least once in a while, feature some of the kids. TLC will try to bully Jon in the lawsuit--Jon will probably agree to let the kids be flimed for some "specials" or something in exchange for $$ and mutual dropping of the suits.
At any rate, the tups are getting older and will be in school full-time next year. My wish for them is that they can live their lives with at least a modicum of privacy. As for their parents--well, I'm hoping that these two knuckleheads will finally (privately) come to some sort of compromise and peace regarding the raising of their children. Here's hoping...

I feel a great sadness for the loss of watching these wonderful children grow up. I have watched the show as long as it has been on an can't imagine not continuing to see their lives go on. I have such great respect for Kate and her obvious devotion to the kids. Jon is an overgrown adolescent who should never have married at the age of 24 and assumed responsibility as a parent. He needs to grow up and maybe someday he'll want to be a father.

In regards to Patti's post (11:08). Z, have you ever spoken with Paul Petersen of A Minor Consideration about working for legislation for children? He has always been working hard as a advocate for children on TV and is especially anti TLC. Now that the J&K+8 show is over he seems to be aiming his attention toward The Table For 12 production. Maybe he can offer our group direction in how to protect the children that are being victimized by this type of program.

What do I feel? Relife that this exploitative piece of dreck will finally be off the air.

Patti,
It is a good idea. I am a Roger Wicker constiuent.

If you want you can link to me from Z's Facebook. We can start a group effort.

I do feel that after all the lies & mumboo jumbo Tlc tried to pass off as reality they are owed in the least a good case of viewer pie. Paul Peterson, GWOP,Gloria Allred do have their hand in this cookie jar. Anyway, look forward to hearing from you.

Hi BBFs! Long rainy weekend is finally over with only one Gosselin moment - when the shredder clogged up. It was SO Kate!

TY Irene for the mags! (close, since the complete Northern Exposure series set is my "list") Sorry about Angel.

Holly ~ My sympathies to you & your family.

Here is Paul Peterson's link.. http://www.minorcon.org/ Several Gosselin editorials under Contents there. For anyone who has no idea who he is go to youtube and search the Donna Reed Show. His sister was also on the show occasionally.

Not watching tonight - haven't watched in a year now - but will read up and I plan to be in the chat.

Where & what time on Tuesday for the "live chat?" I Can
hardly wait.

Hi Susan, Live chat noon (Eeastern time) Tuesday. I am going to try and poll question up this afternoon, but will definitely have review Monday night after show. Thanks. Z

Now, I am really ticked off. I used to babysit a girl that has cerebral palsy. I love this person with all my heart. We lost touch when I got out of highschool and married. We have recently been reunited. I posted a blurb on my facebook about Jon and Kate and the finale. She is upset about it because she likes the show. Gretchen is all about family and I am mad because I know she doesnt really understand how TLC took total advantage & fully manipulated the viewers of the biggest fraud since the lip syncers of the 1990's.

Ugh!

I hope that sheeple, like Pam, can learn to live in the real world instead of vicariously through a television show. I'd also like to Pam to please list for us the times Kate has shown devotion to her kids.

I feel a sense of satisfaction that the truth is out and they are getting what they deserve. The religious hypocrisy really turned my screws. So to know they have been exposed as a manufactured ruse feels like justice. They started to believe their own hype and got greedy. And now they will need to subsist on their talents and merits, of which there are few. They are another example of celebrity without substance.

Jon the mushmouth has NO future in show biz outside of milking the last drops of tabloid interest and things like Celeb Fat Club. Kate will have the opportunity to do a show, because there has been a proven audience. While she is capable of expressing herself, without the tabloid interest and the kids, she will fail. They will each write a book. Much of the audience now watches only to cringe. TLC keeps promising some revelation but can only fail to deliver so many times. The audience was going away anyway. They may have gotten away with the ruse if not for the 24/7 gossip machine, most of which has proven to be true, and the fact that they are so vapid, so brazen, so stupid. Jon being the worst offender. They could have been more private, more discreet, and the gravy train would have continued. But they got greedy. Jon was the most flagrant but both are without virtue.

With all of the 'reality' in the tabloids, the show itself has been a bizarre contrast of staged banality, and entirely uninteresting. The show in the last year or two is so obviously staged with Jon’s scavenger hunt and Kate’s popcorn machine and movie projector. It was exposed as produced and phony. They never realized their only appeal was the cringe factor of these bickering twits, and the cute kids. It is super cringe inducing that they (Jon especially) believe they have ‘careers’ in media. It is this attitude that makes me feel they will be getting what they deserve and this is the beginning of the end.

If they were smart they would have saved every penny, live modestly but comfortably, knowing fame is always fickle and fleeting. They could have has a great few years and made a secure life for themselves and their kids, even if not together. The divorce is not the demise of this story, it is the delusion and greed; the egos gone wild. It might be a crazy life but it is about to get a whole hell of a lot worse.

Kate had no choice but to settle in arbitration. If she and Jon had failed to agree, then the court would have stepped in and done it for them. It would have involved an ad litem for the children, and neither one of them wanted that, I don't think. It probably would have also required psych visits for both parents, too.

My own personal opinion is that Jon is merely using his children as bargaining chips with TLC and that he will allow them to be filmed again if they pay him enough and release him from his contract. If Jon was only focused on the prevention of filming he would have joined forces with Paul Peterson by now, and he hasn't.

Irene, if I had the keys to the estate, I would change the damn locks, you can be sure of that, and forbid either of the Gosseln parents from entering ever again.

Somebody said this isn't over and that they are just pausing to reload. I wholeheartedly agree and would like to add that they are using the children as hostages. They have kidnapped their own children and are bargaining with the highest bidder for the right to sell their childhoods.

Jon and TLC will settle out of court. That's my prediction. Jon will sell his soul to the devil and will spend the rest of his wretched life wondering how everything went wrong.

Freegosselin8 your the best. Yes, of course Kate had to settle with the arbitrator the judge reminded the 2 nincoompoops if they did not settle it with the arbitrator it would be a matter of public record.

Yes, Free that is exactly why you get the keys.

Another thing guys. TLC website is not releasing video segments of tonight. (if i am wrong please correct me because I cannot find them on the site) but raunchy Jon digs are all over the tabloids like Radaronline and TMZ. This is a sleazy sleazy outfit TLC.

Did someone say despicable? Last night in order to gear up for actually watching TLC again after staging my own personal boycott these past many months, I came across a show with this couple who are of course little people who've had a baby. They seemed nice and all and yet for some reason the mom starts throwing jabs at dad. And not just one or two either. She was giving hubby an unnecessarily bad time I thought and 20 minutes into it I had to change the channel but not before I hollered at them to run for their lives, it's a set-up, get the hell out of it, TLC is going to destroy you, don't sign anything no matter how much money they offer, RUN!!!

What is TLC's agenda? To see how many families they can ruin? You guys have talked about Amy and Matt Roloff not getting along either. I used to love that show - it was my favorite until I stupidly started watching Jon and Kate - and now their marriage is on the rocks? Who's idea up their in the offices of TLC is it to highlight the nasty? What kind of sick you-know-whats think up this stuff? There is something really wrong with it all. (I know, so many questions so few answers)

Anyway, I'm going to go ahead tonight and see if I can get through this final curtain of Jon and Kate, but I'm really having a hard time justifying it. I feel like a hyprocrite, evil almost, you know, like feeding the sharks when children are swimming close by. If anyone at TLC reads this that's probably just what they want to hear. They're probably giving each other high-fives right now thinking the ratings will soar. I know they don't care anymore what they put out there, but as kad said yesterday, what's it come to? Anyone besides me feeling this way today?

Here is a deleted clip of Kate having earpiece trouble during her interview with Natalie Morales

Thanks. Z

Wow! great quick positive response to my little idea. I will contact Irene and maybe we can get Senator Wicker to help us. I am also going to follow up on all other suggestions. Gloria Allred (CA) is also a fame seeker and may not be much help as I used to live in CA and she is a very controversial figure there, but at least call or e-mail your legislators about this and see if you get any response - THEY HAVE TO RESPOND TO YOU! After all, they work for you. The GWOP would also help us.
An e-mail from Z asking what these players have done so far about this would certainly get their attention - especially Gloria and her daughter.
Don't forget to mention that pediphiles love these shows; they even appreciate diaper adds. UGH. We can do this.

Pam,
My heartfelt condolences to you as you walk through this grieving process. Loosing a show that has obviously made you a devoted sheeple of Kate must be so hard. Please feel free to share the event with all of us on the live blog tonight. I'm sure you'll find the exact remedy for your sorrow.

Chrysee, YES! I saw that show last night about the little people and could not believe how much like Kate this woman is. She was so much like her that I changed the channel. I hate TLC anyway and rarely watch, but was flipping around last night and saw this and started watching. What first got my attention was the countdown clock in the right corner counting down to tonight's J&K. That is disgusting. Then I saw this woman behaving just like Kate. The guy was pretty nice and trying to placate her, but she is literally another Kate in a different body. What is wrong with TLC? Do they put out these feelers for the whack jobs out there? Tempting them with fame and fortune to sell their souls? What normal human being would want a camera aimed at your butt as you are walking showing your deformity up close. I'm not saying she can in any way help that, but the filming by TLC is beyond disgusting.

As for Pam, why not run back and join Baby Mama at the Kate lovefest. You'll be much happier there.

Patti~ I personally called Gloria Allred's office 2 weeks ago and left a message for her assistant. The lady did call me back I was just out of the office. Anyway, catch me on facebook. I do not want Z's blog to be compromised here. These are our opinions and I will be almost relieved to do something besides feed the frenzy of the Big three Liars~ TLC,Jon & Kate. TEAM 8

Chrysee, I totally understand. In the past 24 hours, I have cried, cussed and barked at loved ones around me over this cotton picken show. I feel so guilty about the kids, humialated that I could not see past the monkey munch a long time ago, mad about how TLC is trying to market Kate as some Hero of the series. And, finally I just feel like the jokes on me...they are sitting there with $400 high heels & a heavily mortgaged prison for their kids. And, I participated in the frenzy.

Sorry, TLC you would love for a voice like me to go away. Don't count your monkey munch on it I AM JUST UNLOADING so that I CAN RELOAD.

Patti,

You can find me on facebook through Irene too if you want. I am interested. Anything that would help keep these kids off these shows. I will help.

Thank god it's over with. I hope I never see them on tv again. One day they will look back and regret the total waste of a once in a lifetime opportunity that was given to them. They totally squandered it.

Z and fellow bloggers,

I stumbled upon another person who GETS IT.

Professor Dayna Royal of the Cumberland School of Law did a treatise on children in reality television:

"Jon & Kate Plus the State: Why Congress Should Protect Children in Reality Programming"

I recommend everyone stopping by and downloading a copy to read - free PDF. I wrote the Professor directly and urged her to contact Paul Petersen, Gloria Alred, etc. - this could be the cornerstone of National Legislation to stop allowing children in reality programming!

http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1452986

As for how I feel about tonight, I was one of the early posters on Gosselins Without Pity, and have been on as many national blogs as I can in hopes of stopping this trainwreck.

I truly hope for the childrens' sake (and theirs alone) that this is final bow. No more shows. No more violations of their precious lives.

Their parents need to reduce their lifestyle and make the situation better for the children.

Additionally, why did I get involved in the lives and welfare of basically 8 strangers?

Like their birth parents: "I DID IT FOR THE CHILDREN!"

Chrysee @1:44 PM,

I too came across that show last night. The little people with the baby. And I was dismayed at what I saw as the wife putting down her husband. I have stopped watching LPBW because the tone of that show has also changed. I am starting to believe that Eileen O'Neill is anti-family. This is sick.

This morning I woke up with a migraine. I realized that I had dreamed about the Gosselins all night. OMG!! It is now after 2 PM and I finally have some relief. Worrying about this family and especially the children is taking over my life. But there is much work to be done to get children off Reality TV. Don't get me started on Toddlers and Tiaras. I knew from the ads I wouldn't be able to stomache it. But watched a coupled of times anyway, so I could speak intelligently on the subject. Honestly, I felt sick and dirty when I watched.

I admire Paul Peterson and the work he is doing. I don't remember who said they thought Sherrod Brown was their senator, but he's my senator also. Flooding their mail boxes with letters of protest is a start. "The squeaky wheel gets the oil."

Hi Patti,

Great suggestion. I think we can definitely get this ball rolling.

I also think it would be great if we can get as many people as possible to lodge a complaint against TLC with the FCC based on the FCC definition of "indecent" material. There have been several instances of TLC broadcasting images of the children (in J&K8 and in other shows) in varying stages of undress and in situations/activities (e.g., pooping) that violate their privacy and should be considered indecent and dangerous.

To register a complaint, go to http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.

You will need to select the "Broadcast (TV and Radio), Cable, and Satellite Issues" option as the complaint type, and then the "Broadcast programs showing obscene, profane, and/or indecent material" option for the Complaint Category. You will then have the option of filing the complaint using the Online Form, Phone, Mail, or e-mail.

They will ask you to provide your name and address. Then they will ask you for the following information:

1) Date of Program
2) Time of Program
3) Network
4) Call Sign, Channel or Frequency
5) City and State where program was viewed/heard
6) Name of Program

You will then need to provide a brief description of specific words, language, images, etc. that will help the FCC determine if the content is obscene, profane, and/or indecent.

We would need one of our intrepid BBFs to do some research regarding the specific dates and times certain shows were aired. Any of the episodes showing the kids naked or in their underwear would be appropriate to cite.

Does anyone out there have this information, or would anyone be willing to research this and provide us with the dates and times of these episodes? Z, do you have access to this information?

I just think that, if the FCC was willing to go through so much time and trouble to investigate the whole Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake episode (which, in my opinion pales in comparison to exposing children in a manner that could put them in danger), then we should be able to make a convincing enough argument to get the FCC to look into TLC's actions.

The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

To Irene, Patti and other like-minded folks:

Please download and read that legal brief I found - we should send it to EVERY Senator and Governor's office we can afford to.

Professor Royal nails it all on the head, she put it in "legalese" for those of us who ain't lawyers.

She can be the true spark to all of this - a well-thought brief demonstrating the LAW and how PROTECTIONS should be enacted.

THANKS ALL!

PS> This time my letter is "q" (as in I'm quitting J&K! LOL)

TLC is the bully here, and they are telling Jon that NO ONE messes with their product (even though they are Jon's children). It will also send a message to their other reality families that TLC will go after them too if they misbehave. The Hayes and Roloff families should get out now before their families are split apart like TLC did the Gosselins. TLC played a major role in this farce, but will not admit it. Eileen O'Neil should be ashamed of herself. The kids should be able to act like kids without a camera pointed at them. I'll tune in to the blog tomorrow because I don't think I can stomach watching the last show tonight.

Thank you God!! It's over! But wait! Kate has a new show coming this Spring on TLC so put it on your calendars! She is DETERMINED that she is not going to come out of the clouds and get down here with the rest of us! She wants that yearly million dollar paycheck like she was getting and if she has to run around naked on her pink motorcycle she'll do it I'm sure! Stay tuned folks!

I am feeling disgusted with TLC. The children (you know, the sextuplets and the twins) must be distressed that TLC is suing Jon. That has to be pretty scary from the prospective of a child.

I was curious about the custody issue after yesterday's news so I did a google search for "primary custody Pennsylvania" and found the following inof on divorcenet.com which I cut and pasted. A "source" says Kate got primary custody but from what I can tell, that's not even a term that is recognized in PA.

"Legal Terms

Courts use precise legal terms in describing custody issues. It is helpful to know and use the precise terms correctly to avoid confusion. These terms are:

Legal Custody. The legal right to make major decisions affecting the best interests of the child, in matters including, but not limited to, education, religion and medical decisions.

Physical Custody. The actual possession and control of the child.

Partial Custody. The right to take possession of the child from the custodial parent for a certain specified period of time.

Shared Custody. Shared legal or physical custody, or both, of a child in such a way as to assure the child of frequent and continuing contact with, and physical access to, both parents.

Visitation. The right to visit a child. This does not include the right to remove the child from the custodial parent's control. That right is "partial custody."

Use these exact terms. Avoid other phrases such as "joint custody" or "primary custody," which may cause confusion. These terms do not have precise legal meaning under Pennsylvania law."

Finallyover,

I watched the episode with the little people and their new baby Charlie. This wife did seem like she was a little like Kate. She kept on asking her husband what he had done with her sweater and yelled at him about the oven. Why do all of these people on these shows not respect their husbands. TLC must be editing these to show the worst possible moments. Why would these people want that on camera. I don't understand. I teach my kids to be respectful.

Finallyover,

Sherrod Brown is my Senator in Ohio, I believe. I need to get more involved on a State level. I think Zack Space is one of the congressman from Ohio. I have been called by Zack Space to participate in a phone interview.

Take care of yourself though and don't make yourself sick over the Gosselin's we hope tonight will be the last of them. Then we just have to start working on all the other shows that exploit kids. Seriously, hope your migraine is better.

I'm feeling disgusted with TLC but J&K are adults and are responsible for the negativity they both receive and the effects on their children. I tried to read all the blog posts commenting on the custody issue to avoid repetition but I am pasting definitions here from divorcenet.com specifically relating to Pennsylvania. Basically, "primary custody" is not a term recognized.

Irene, Barbara, Finallyover, (and all) - thanks - I was hoping it wasn't just my imagination...and yes Barbara, that's what I thought - a smaller version of Kate. When she went on that little rant about not sharing her bag of doritos I thought it was petty and selfish... and it smacked of Kate and Jon. And her not wanting to take part in any of the downside of parenting - vaccines, etc- it re-enforced that thought. She should be told it isn't flattering to put down your husband, it reflects how little respect you have for yourself too, and your marriage. My husband and I have been married twenty-nine years and you bet we've had our disagreements - in private.

Again, I'm going to try to watch tonight, but I'll be hiding all heavy objects that might get thrown, cuz I can't afford a new tv right now.

Chrysee no rocks we are a high road takin' bunch...no tv's are to be harmed in the finale of this farce.

I hope everyone knows that in 5 hours we will see just how low TLC can go. They really need to have a caption before they start that viewer discretion is advised there are children and disabled that will watch this tonight...and I shudder to think how they will feel. I had to just water down how I feel on a textmessage. Because my lovely friend Gretchen, who is disabled, just does not understand. She just text me and asked if I could find out if the dogs were okay because they do not live with the Gosselin kids anymore. See that just really ticks me off. I told her the dogs are fine and I will try to track down the owner this week. She told me her mom said that too. See, Tlc when you go thinking of how to keep an audience interested they do take this stuff to heart. You made...oh fooiee they really just do not care.

Z - I just read on gosselins without pity; a poster just reported that the Philadelphia News is reporting that Kate plus 8 is starting in the spring....

can you confirm or squash this rumour.....please and thank you.

Hi Karen,

That's not a very good publication. I think they aare probably confusing TLC's statement that Kate will have a new show in the spring with the planned "Kate Plus 8." TLC cannot do "Kate Plus 8" until Jon drops his legal action blocking it, and I am pretty sure that has not happened. I will check later when I am clear, but I think I am right about this. Thanks. Z

Re: Freegosselin8
Well said. I think that may be why Kate looked slightly rattled when she came out of the arbitration meeting--she got schooled--TLC or no TLC behind her. Settle or it goes to court and then custody is in the courts hands.
Also, unfortunately, you may be right about Jon using the kids as bargaining chips in the suit against TLC. If he were my brother, I'd sit him down and try to talk some sense into him. Think of your kids, Jon--think of the long-term, big picture here.

I am so glad that this show is ending. I really can't stand Kate. I think she is a money hungry person who treats Jon terrible like he is one of the children. At least he has enough sense to put a stop to this useless show, he said he never wanted to do it in the first place, Kate did, so he did what she wanted. She thinks she's the boss of everyone. She can go back and be a nurse to support her children like other people have to. GOOD RIDDANCE!!

Just to put in perspective for Jon. I am not defending him, because he has acted like a fool of fools. But as Freegosselin8 pointed out his chair interview is from August 25 that they are using in the finale tonight.

On Entertainment tonight website that is online. Jon stated: about arbitration and his lawyer Mark Hellers comment that Jon won. Jon said, "I agree to the point that we won...Noone wins in a divorce...We both failed miserably in our marriage."

No matter how much of a smuck I bet Kate will never say anything near that on her couch tonight as she wraps up the year.

Isnt it ironic & very sad...she was pregnant for 30 weeks and brought 6 beautiful healthy kids to this world...and all she has today to show for it on her reality is nothing....an overmortgaged house, some fake nails, fake/bake tan, and a ringless finger.

boo, actually, the term primary custody is still used although not legally defined. it gets used when, for example, both parents each have legal custody (also called joint or shared custody) of the kids. it is needed because if both parents have equal rights over the kids, then one can stonewall the other, refuse to respond, or of course just be unavailable or undecided with no ill will, so someone needs to be designated as a decision maker in those cases. this is what primary custody is - that both parents have and are entitled to full information and input, but the primary custodial parent can make decisions if no agreement can be reached.

so, use of this term does not mean the source does not know. instead, it suggests that both parents have equal custodial rights, with Kate being the decision maker where she and Jon are, for any reason, unable to agree on something.

Hi Irene,
I totally agree with you about how sad and ironic that Kate has nothing to show for her reality! Nothing that any one of us would want (except for the 8 children). Materialism gets you nothing!!
I still believe there is so much to this story that we will never know. Kate appears to be a driven, envious, unhappy woman who covets what other successful. happy, talented people have. So sad for the kids!

Hi Gang,
I don't really know where to start; perhaps with my faulty memory. Did I or did I not see an episode where Kate ridiculed Jon for hanging on to mementos of his dead father? I think, for me, that was the saddest moment of the five years. It made me want to cry.
Also, help me out with another question I have. I've watched the show since the beginning and I was telling my friends more than two years ago that this was a train wreck waiting to happen. I emailed TLC and have been boycotting TLC and Discovery since the spring. My question? Can anyone refer me to a clip from the show where Jon gets his way? In my mind, there wasn't one instance where Kate backed down. Jon has been oppressed for the past ten years and is behaving in a manner consistant with a rebellious teenager. Like anyone who's never had the freedom to learn from their mistakes, he's made plenty in the past 8 months. I think he'll get it eventually, and grow up. I actually think we are starting to see that now.
Kate, on the other hand, has not yet hit rock bottom. I hope for everyone's sake that the lightbulb goes on soon for her. The children are still salvageable. They need stable parents and a stable home life.
I'm relieved that this tragedy is over. (Z we need a spell checker on this blog. LOL)

P.J.

You are right there was an episode where Kate did not want Jon to hang onto his father's things. She said she was sentimental about events like holidays, but not things. It seemed so strange to me. Just another way she was mean to Jon. The twins had to beg to keep one of the Christmas ornaments that Kate wanted to get rid of in the yard sale that belonged to their grandpa too. She said it was flaking glitter all over the place and was going to pitch it out. Yikes. We have a lot of momentos from our family. Just another strange thing about Kate she is very heartless.

I'll look for a clip, I am not sure one exists where Jon got his way??

P.J.

Also think we need spell check. haha Momento should be memento (keepsake) sorry. Anyway great question. Hope someone can answer the second part or confirm the first part of the question, but I did remember that episode. :)

A general interpretation of 'primary custody' means that one parent has physical custody of the children more than 50% of the time (meaning Kate would have the kids more than Jon - as they've been doing).

It is interesting that they did't leak information on the question of LEGAL custody. They're 2 different things completely and legal custody is the most important. If J&K have 'joint legal custody' it means they both have input and must agree on decisions regarding the children.

From the way J&K have described how they work out who has the kids and when, I've got a feeling that in the end we'll find out they have joint legal custody with Kate having primary physical custody.

Hope that didn't confuse the question even more.

3 hours bloggers

Kelly can I get you anything last minute? We really need you in tip top shape. I have a feeling this is gonna be a douzy.

Z, you ok out there? Please have a light dinner. Nothing too spicy or heavy.

I got my notebook ready and my weighters on. From the previews I see today Kate is gonna make us work for this analysis.

Hi Irene, I am a little worn out. Started the day at 5:30 a.m. on the computer. But I'm riding expresso and aspirins all the way through tonight's finale. And as soon as I hear Kate start lying through her teeh and spinning her brains out, the adrenaline will kick in and i will be good for a couple of more rounds with the the TV show that never stops lying. I am thrilled to know Kelly and all you other fabulous bloggers will ride to the rescue and take tonight's finale apart frame by frame. And if that is true that it ends with Jon's misspelled sign as if the end of everything can be blamed on him, my head might really explode. See you guys later, and bring your sharpest critics' skill to the computer. Z

PJ - the only clip I can think of was when they were in the toy store (season 2?) - the one where she yelled her infamous 'heelllllooooooo over here - you need to stop playing with the toys Jon...." line and everyone in the store turned around and looked at her. Jon told her outside whilst loading the van not to do that - it was embarrassing and so on. Pretty sad that that's the only time I remember him standing up to her. But no, I can't remember a clip or a show when she didn't get her way. No matter what I've said about Jon, he did endure a lot of crap from that broad.

TJSMommy,

You said "Why don't we as a group start sending e-mails/letters to Oprah regarding the exploitation by TLC. Oprah is all about children and children's rights, if enough people get on board then maybe Oprah can help in getting children off of reality TV. People usually don't mess with Oprah and she is ratings gold and people follow her."

I'd like to think what you suggested could help. But.....Oprah had the Gosselin's on her show twice. She gave them gifts (during the time they were on the church speaking circuit), applauded them as parents, marveled at the work it took to raise the kids, etc. She was pretty much enthrawled by the family.

The Gosselin's appeared on Oprah's show February 22, 2008. This appearance was when the family was becoming popular, but bloggers were tuning in and starting to question discrepancies in what we saw on the show and what we knew was going on behind the scenes with the family.

In the summer of 2008 the blogging community started to question their church speeches, selling photos for cash, asking for love offerings and telling congregations how poor they were - while the show on TLC was becoming more and more popular.

By fall of 2008 the blogosphere was going wild and we knew something was fishy in Gosselinland. They'd taken their vacation to CA and renewed their vows in Hawaii during the summer of '08 - the sham of a marriage was exposed, the exploitation of children was becoming a HUGE issue with bloggers as was Kate's book, speaking engagements, etc.

In February, 09 it was announced that the Gosselins were scheduled to appear on Oprah. I and hundreds (idk, maybe thousands) of concerned viewers wrote to Oprah to ask her to cancel their appearance based on our belief that she was helping J&K and TLC exploit the 8 innocent children. We asked if she didn't cancel the appearance to at least ask some hard questions about child exploitation, their income sources, etc.

And, then, on March 9, 2009 --- well after it was known the family was having problems, Jon was tabloid fodder by this time, etc. the Gosselin's appeared on Oprah again. She didn't ask any tough questions, child exploitation was not mentioned, and it was another soft interview - IMO, it was another PR appearance to promote the show. Oprah had already signed the agreement with Discovery to purchase 50% of Disc. Health and so....(had a vested interest in the success of the show IMO).

I know this was lengthly, but I wanted you to know the history Oprah has with the Gosselin's. I wrote to her twice before their appearance in '09 and once after they were on the show in March. I'm not too sure I'll write again because I'm really not too sure she'll take the side of protecting kids on reality television from exploitation - especially if it's on her own network and she could be making money from their success on the network. It seems we can always trace connections back to money.

Well for starters it is 5:30pm here. I have watched 15 minutes of Jon and Kate some earlier episodes.

Whoa man, commercials with guess who? Paula Deen doing charity with Smithfield hams.

Just to get ya'll reved up:
Kate says she is determined to get a family sense of unity. Really for 5 seasons I look back and have this sense it is all about you. (for starters you have interrupted Jon 4 times on the couch in 15 minutes that I am watching.

Oh Lordie Bee!

I did get to see something that just melted my cold heart. Aaden just said, "My name is Aaden I am glad to meet you."

You TLC are truly the monsters here."
Posted by: Irene

AMEN, Irene
It couldn't have been said any better. Thank you for expressing your feelings - and mine, so well!

I do not know what to say PJ...I am sitting here in Gosselin memory lane and all I see is her interrupting him, talking over him.

This half hour on Kate: Plus Kate.

I just had to be reminded about those dogs for the 3rd time today. I can't go there.

St Jude:

Kate says she follows alot of kids with cancer. Let me tell you something she follows alot of people with cameras to. They are called Paparazzi, news people anyone whoe will listen to her. And, boy do they.

Kate also says she wants to teach the kids through St. Judes it is better to give than receive. Really cuz I have 5 seasons of video showing me that you show the kids it is better to get than receive. Evidence:Tummy tuck, juicy juice, all those crazy trips with kids that will not remember them.

See ya in 30 minutes guys.

Z - lol- the show that never stops lying - too funny - too true. You're a trooper and we're here for ya. Z you've been the 'bestest' blog host I've ever come across. You call it like ya see it and still keep it civil...and I appreciate it as I know everyone here does. Tuesday night wreck a family night with Tlc. ~Hayes family one of the kids is having a fit being scared about going swimming...some things never change

KarenfromCanada,

TLC has issued statements saying that J&K+8 will be over as of tonight, they will not be going ahead with the show titled Kate Plus 8, but there are plans to do a show with just Kate to air in spring 2010. Hope that helps answer your questions.

Hey, ok 1 hour

Dude ranch/dress up

Funny I did not notice the 1st time Kate said that, " The kids walked the whole way in the whole way out." But guys there was cameras showing 3 or 4 wheelers to take them. Funny.

That episode made me realize Kate took the kids on a far expensive trip. They did have fun no doubt. But, darn those girls had a blast at home with their dad.

I cannot believe they are capturing the last hour with that farce of an interview with Morales...PLLLEAAZZZZZ

Evening everyone:

Z - sorry for the overreaction. Im very emotional and got so upset at the thought of the kids being filmed again....it got the better of me.

Ill be watching tonite, although you all are a few hours ahead of me so youll see it before me...

But Ill add my comments once the kids are in b ed.
\
Keep up the good work all...

Dude Ranch Episode:

Did anyone else notice the price tags on the pink dress Jon put on and on the purse one of the little girls was holding???

All the dress up stuff was new with tags!!

Irene, Thanks for asking. I have been doing breathing excercises, push ups, have an ambulance and a defribulator on hand and several members of the Special Forces stationed around my bunker so I can watch, and share my review of this noteworthy and historic moment. P people have surrounded my home and flash bulbs are going off quicker than Kate's temper. I will survive and make it through my last breath to stay awake and keep you all informed.

MarilynV I caught that tonight I bet when Kate found out they got in her clothes she was on she was madish? what say you?

Thanks for the shout out bbsak...I have been feeling like I am just gone overboard.

Just checked out Professor Dayna B. Royal who graduated summa cum laude from University of Michigan law school and now teaches at Samford University in Washington D.C. Her legal abstract is a must read. It is entitled " Jon and Kate Plus the State: Why Congress Should Protect Children in Reality Programming." 08/14/09.
I think we have found a leader?

Oh Lordie bee Kelly you are faboulish!

Hey, I am watching this Morales interview. Please correct me but I watched this before and did they edit this for tonight. This interview I do not know...I need to go back to my notes. Something is not right here. Maybe it is me.

Hi Z,

I think it's about time to put this show out of its misery. I really don't care for that program, or the drama ensuing and I'm glad I don't see it anymore on the tabloids everytime I go to the grocery store. I sympathize with those kids, because that might be the only thing they will be known for.

Wendy, are you certain of this? That Kate can make the decision if they can't agree?

"so, use of this term does not mean the source does not know. instead, it suggests that both parents have equal custodial rights, with Kate being the decision maker where she and Jon are, for any reason, unable to agree on something."

15 Min

Ok viewers this is so unthinkable it came down to this...

Are you ready?

We can never go back...

Please remember we are doing this to night for the sake of the kids.

No matter what: Bloggers that blog together get to the bottom of it together.

Let's see what boat Kate is on tonight...Is it the Love boat, the bitter boat, the I will never die boat...my gut feeling is she is on a sinking boat!

The bittersweet boat....Z

Yes, Z bittersweet & this is reminding me of the wreckage left after Hurricane Katrina on the coastline and we are only 22 min into this mess

I am with you, Irene. I am hanging on by my fingernails. Z

I can't believe I gave up Top Chef for this. Here goes,

The Lies - in some semblance of order thus far:

Kate: This was totally avoidable.
It was a job where.... I didn't have to leave home for work. (then why did you do that so often, Kate?)
[fiddles with necklace]

Jon:I gotta stop being a kid.
I kinda took advantage of it "for awhile" (uh,five years to be exact , Jon)

Kate: I'm in a different boat than Jon. (it's the boat YOU built Kate)
I'm gonna do everything I can as a mother (better start soon, Kate)
[fiddles with necklace]

Jon: I have work again. (what???)

Kate: I need them to see a hard working parent. (meaning herself of course, again better get at it, Kate)
I try not to do 'it' in a disparaging way (speaking of her childrens father)
[fiddles with necklace]

(on Hailey) They don't know about the girlfriends at all (uh huh, right Kate)
[fiddles with necklace]

Oh good a commercial.

We're back.

Kate: Jon doesn't take them many places alone without me
[uh oh here comes the bus]

cut to kids bickering and looking bored re: lemonade day. Jon actually disciplines the kids. Yeah, TLC is trying to make him look bad (it's not working....yet)

Jon: (disses the paps -their fault for not raising much money)

Kate: I worry about his intentions, is this a publicity stunt. (no, you don't Kate, cuz you do it ALL the time)

Commercial # 2 (and I'm sick already - must...find...water...beer....anything...I...don't...think ....I...can....do....this....)

And we're back - on with the lies;

More firetruck/lemonade day,
some cute stuff with the kids

Kate: My goal has been to remain neutral, state the facts...blah blah blah
(Big Lie)

I feel like it's ended so suddenly and it's been taken away from me and the kids... (yep, same ol same ol, as predicted)

Half over, commercial.

I'm taking up smoking again. See you guys later.

Oh man, Chrysee: You are head of me and knocking it out of the park. Great start. Z

If Kate says its ending too soon one more time, you will hear me screaming all the way to Baltimore. Give it a rest, Kate. Its over!!

And so it is, we have now come to the destination. I know now how my parents must have felt many years ago, on a trip to the beach and we kept asking, minute by minute, “Are we there yet”?

How they must have wanted to pull their hair out, much like all of us have been doing these past five seasons… Yes Kate, I said five seasons not five years because seasons are short and years are long and the thought of watching you day in and day out for 5 years is tantamount to self abuse. ”Are we there yet”?

Finally folks, we’ve pulled into the parking lot and it’s time for all of us to run to the sandy shores of freedom, relaxation and forget about this long national nightmare called Jon and Kate Plus Eight. It’s over. (Unless Jon has yet again, another Epiphany and wants Kate back and they realize their freebies are over and they need some cash)

At this point, I’m almost expecting a government bailout of the Gosselins by January and everyone who watched this exploitation of children should be placed in the witness “protectionish” program. So, with that said, the show begins:

It’s a crazy life:

Last time on the set. Kate looks behind her and acts like she is so surprised with the question from the PA. She doesn’t like ends, goodbyes or no paycheck. Kate says: “It’s totally avoidable and every job has it’s benefits. The fact that she could go to work and her kids could go with her……..YEAH KATE… it’s bittersweet just like an unemployment check. Is there not enough? Jon still talking about being 27, 32, having twins, Tups not ready for it. …..He’ll always be a kid. The father of 8, loves New York, three hours from his house and work. HELLO…….. Work??? What loving Dad moves three hours away from his kids???? Partying at all hours of the night could be work if you didn’t work. The morning after is always hell. Jon is moving forward and knowing what he has to do to save his family. Those Red Bulls and Vodka are really helping him out with saving the family.

Hard to here Stories:

Kate has her need to protect them. Is it safe, well thought out and Jon doesn’t take them many places without her. I’m starting to realize, just 10 minutes into this slam fest that Jon is going to be trashed, no matter what. Jon takes the kids to a firehouse to raise money for charities. I’m believing this just like I heard from a debtor that the check is in the mail. The Gosselins working for a charity????? That’s like saying the IRS is going to send you a Valentines card. Jon kicks the twins out of the picnic table because they were acting rude. WHAT?????? They were just coloring in coloring books. HOW RUDE. Jon cuts up two or three lemons and takes the kids to the firehouse to sell lemonaide. I bet they sold about three glasses before the lemons ran out. Typical Gosselin charity. The donation jar was about as big as a shot glass. Jon thinks only in shot glass measurements. When the babes showed, Jon turned the paper on the table into lemons. WOW…… the lemonade was plentiful. I thought I was watching a biblical feature of the Wedding at Canna. Oh yeah, then Kate adds her own tepid response saying it was for publicity purposes. Just forget about those trips Kate makes to Kinkos, Target, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, the bus stop and all the other photo ops. Kate is looking good in this TLC white wash Didn’t see Jon or Kate donate any of their church earned cash to the volunteer fire fighters.

After the dinner break of 60 grams of saturated fat, fried food, without bibs, and no veggies, Jon dons a firemans outfit and moves toward the kids in an attempt to scare them. He’d scare me without a firemans turnout clothes.. I only hope that they sterilized the breathing mask after Jon took it off. Who knows what he was breathing into it. All the kids got a firemans hat but I’m pretty certain, we’ll see them on Ebay tomorrow. Gosselin Firehat anyone?

Kate discovers an Organic Farmer:

Kate takes the tups to the farm. All of them except the twin girls. They don’t count do they? Twins are just twins. Tups are just……….MONEY MAKERS. They walk to the farm, about a mile.. RIGHT!!! 5 year olds can’t walk a mile without being tired, complaining. She managed to get passed the P People, on a country road that has no curb, no sidewalk and KATE walks on the inside, next to the fence while the kids were all walking on the road. Hmmmmmm, she did this for the kids? I’ve been on that road folks and it aint a country road. Cars travel at 50 mph through the twists and turns. Not something you want your kids to be walking on.

Kate loves organic cows. Kate says… “They are so gorgouse.” Her first admission of any feeling towards anything. She speaks about utters. Well Kate, perhaps they could get a tummy tuck and a body enhancement too. Maybe a push up utter helper and a tooth whitening ala TLC and they’d look HOT grazing.

MOMMY can we get down:

Kate pets a cow and talks about how many vegetables the cow has eaten. For a minute there, I thought Kate was going to pick the cows up, tell them they were all getting a cow for Christmas and name them all at the same time. Poor cows. The kids started milking the cows and I’m almost certain that Jon was watching this and thinking about Kate Major, Hailey Glassman, Stephanie Santoro and all the other women he’s been with, remembering what a cow he is. Hint to Jon…..You better keep grazing because the grass is dying.

Kate watching the cows being milked. She was as excited as watching a car going through an emmisions testing station. The cows weren’t really happy either. Kate was there. They know all about her. Can’t wait for the cows to be on the interview couch.

Kids getting a Snack:

Organic, mind you. Except for the Hershey’s chocolate that was added to their cows milk. After the kids drank that organic concoction, they all turned into Transformers and solved the worlds problems…………Jon and Kate.

Kate says, “it’s been a great run. I’m very greatful for the opportunities. For the people who took us into their livingroom and supported us. “ She cried, yet again. Let’s all pitch in and buy this woman a couch so she can cry and cry and cry and ……………
I’d be crying too if my check stopped coming in. Good bye Jon and Kate and …..GET A JOB
As the great Walter Kronkite would say, “ And That’s the Way it is.” Goodnight and good riddance to the program…Jon and Kate plus 8 little innocent kids. Good luck to the eight little innocent, unknowing kids that were pushed, pulled and bribed into this horrible, horrible charade. Time has recorded your lives and as embarrassed as you may feel years from now, know that we weren’t watching you like a circus attraction, we ached for you and did all we could do to speak for you by blogging and asking for this to end…..for your sake.

My God Z !! how do you manage this every week?

Oh back on:
Some cows, some kittens...

Kate: It's not over yet.
It's over too soon. (make up your mind woman)

[I think I've gone deaf or something - I can only hear buzzing in my ears]

Kate: organic milk is expensive (as expensive as your shoes, Kate?)

It was really working for us and it's ended so suddenly blah blah blah (yeah, we heard you the first time)
[fiddles with fingernails]

here come the tears from little old Katie Irene and she's (sob) grateful for the support.

I think I lost count of how many times she said it's over too soon....

No it ain't. Say goodbye.
~~~~~~~~~~
Z - I now have even greater respect for you and your job.
Looking forward to the reviews....
At the final moment when my husband came to see if I was ok. He said, "Are you gonnna cry it is a darn show?"
Bloggers, I told the love of my life, "It is a darn shame!"
No Kate & Tlc I do not mean for your sake...Hit the high road!
Kate said in all her denial 3 times that I heard, "It is not over yet, it's gone too soon"
That left the door open. You bet not one thing said, sung or done tonight was not calculated, cruel and a darn shame."
Interestingly my 16-year-old said she wanted to watch with me. She hasn't really watched. I think she watched the one where Jon and Kate announced their divorce when we were on vacation in the summer. It was kind of nice to watch it with her.
We thought it was good that Jon disciplined the twins, but felt that he was hard on Cara because of Mady. I don't know if anyone else felt that way. But, then again my daughter has a sister who is only 13 months younger and she always felt that we were easier on her sister. haha
Great job Kelly. :)
Chrysee home run...cant wait for Kelly.
During the milking the cows:
Kate: "This is what I felt like for six months after I had them."
Irene: This is the kind of comment I laugh at after 5 seasons with YOU Kate.
Interesting that " Precious " is being advertised since it is a movie about a horribly abusive mother (a PHENOMENAL Mo'nique)who milks the system so she can sit on her a$$ and not work. Saw it last night - HEAVY stuff.
Regarding Jon standing up to K8 : in one episode, K8 wants Jon to clean the garage, he is playing with Mady and Cara. K8 keeps bitchin to Jon about cleaning the garage, he actually yells back at her " I'm having fun with the girls, I'm not gonna stop because you want me to clean the garage right now" (paraphrasing). This was also the episode where Mady,bless her heart, tells the camera that "Daddy plays with us, Mommy just sits like the Queen and gives orders". GO MADY!
The End.
It's Finallyover.
Irene it may be a crazy blog, but it's our blog, weren't you the one who said that originally?
I am glad it is over for the sake of the kids. I am sure Kate will try to go on somehow with her own show.
Her kids seem very intelligent. At the farm the one who asked "What does digest mean"? It was hard to watch the sweet, sweet kids and realize that this show will have changed their lives forever! I hope they have a "happy" rest of their childhood out of the spotlight.
It couldn't have ended soon enough - thank God it's over.
TLC, Kate and Jon remind me of the Dirty Jobs episode where the big dump truck is filled with disgusting recycled food to slop the hogs with...
Irene -
You're hilarious! Thank you for the generous gift of Heller's briefcase! I will certainly treasure it, although lately I worry it is only filled with candy bar wrappers and senseless doodles... :)))
A disgusting Kate pity party. She was allowed to say any and everything she wanted. Jon was filmed earlier and his comments had nothing to do with the ending of the show.
My very favoritest comment of Kate's, which sums up her controlling narcissistic personality perfectly was:
I never wanted Jon to leave, I wanted him in the drivers seat and me in the passenger seat ---- AND THEN THE BIG BUT -- maybe with more responsibility and 'stress loads to shift', how about that one. The problem is, Kate, you wanted him to do what you wanted, you wanted him to jump when you said jump, you expected him to lay down and play dead and let you run things. Heaven above forbid if he had ever tried to take over, she would have flattened him like a piece of flatbread. What a liar she is. And yes, she talked about it ending too soon, opportunities taken away from her and the kids, over and over.
And let's not forget her 'I will remain neutral, and not say anything negative', as though she has not been trashing him for one straight month on her on private pedastal provided by TLC.
YAY! It's over.
Kelly said...."know that we weren’t watching you like a circus attraction, we ached for you and did all we could do to speak for you by blogging and asking for this to end…..for your sake."
Wow Kelly, that yanked my heartstrings. so very true....and thank you for the recaps - all of them - they were great and like I said to Z ...I don't know how you did it every week, but I'm glad you did.
WOW..IT IS OVER!! YES.. I am so happy because Kate is always putting blame on Jon but she was the one that was gone all the time, even tonight she stated she only wanted someone (jon) to take responsability, he was always home with the kids while she was out doing her thing, the only reason she does not want it to stop is because she can't have any more face lifts and tummy tucks!! if she was not such a bitch maybe Jon would still be with her
How absolutely disgusting for Kate to accuse Jon of doing things with the kids with ulterior motives, photo ops, publicity, and not being attentive to them when he has custody! She knew full well that the reason he took them to the fire station was to film for TLC! And, she's the one who parades them to the park, shopping, and out for Starbucks! I knew the show would be her final opportunity to use the show to throw Jon under the bus. Although it was expected, I was still disgusted by her accusatory words regarding Jon, her lack of humility and her references to the past 5 years - as if they were all bad.
Lawd, I'm soooo glad the show is over, the kids are no longer being filmed, and she is effectively muzzled except for occasional interviews that I'm sure she'll start up soon to keep her name in the press lest we forget who she is bwtween now and spring. UGH Kate and TLC = a perfect match!
so if all of you have an issue with the exploitation of the gosselin kids... why aren't you up in arms over 18 kids and counting, table for 12, the kids on little people big world, all child actors, and other reality television children and their parents? aren't they doing the same thing? or are you just annoyed with the Gosselin family because its easy? if you are going to be mad about one you have to take in account of all the others. If you are so concerned maybe you should try fighting the issue of all exploited children and take actions to get laws passed to keep this from happening instead of judging/dissecting one family of overexposed idiots. I do enjoy the show, the kids are cute, I catch it when its on tv if my schedule permits, but if you are going to start down the exploitation crap take everything into account (which by the way you can't unless you are involved in the show and know exactly how everything is filmed all the way to edited and the payout, also define your definition of exploitation... because the way that word has been thrown around i've just exploited myself all over this comment.)
Katie - Exploitation: Utilization of another person for selfish purposes. Kate Gosselin is the epitomy of exploitation. She used her kids for selfish purposes. That is exactly what everyone on the blog and Z's articles have exposed about the Gosselin family.
The other shows that you mentioned. No one can say for sure. That remains to be seen. But, we have high hopes that these other families will not fall victim to TLC or greed.
OT - There is a new Sesame Street character they just showed him on FOX, he is Spill O'Reilly a kind of in your face character.
Good question Katie.
Now that I have had aspirin and a nap, I will try to answer you.
1. I am up in arms over the other shows. This website is archived. It is the only one I will leave posts at because the journalist who runs it actually checks posts 1st and sticks to the validity of issues. So feel free to look at my name as an example and see what I have blogged since August 25, when this blog gave me a voice to the the issues at hand.
2. Yes, the other shows are doing the same thing. In fact,another marriage our crumbling, kids are having their most tendermoments taped for all the world to see, and episodes like camping, big $$$ unrealistic vacations, and the exploitation of children continues at the lying channel.
3. Being annoyed with the Gosselins has been hard. I watched 5 seasons, marathons, tv appearances and now I know it was a lie & done to manipulate me into believing I was watching an ideal family who wanted only the best for their children. I never wanted what has happened to the Gosselin family to happen. Kate was right last night about one thing Season 5 was avoidable. It should have never happened period. And, now that it has do not cry that I do not believe it was all done for the sake of those 8 kids. NONSENSE!
4. I am mad at the network who spews out these lies and takes advantage of families by dangling a carrot, making contracts that are unreasonable and does not allow for the flexibility and best interests of children to come before anything. I used to watch LPBW, The Hayes and the Duggars. I refuse. I finished watching the Gosselins because I knew with my background of being a viewer of the show from the start I would be able to smell a skunk from a mile away.
By the way, I am a mom of 8. My husband & I have a unique situation also and a story that would make a selelatious story, book or documentary. One thing I learned from all this is there is no deal with a devil like TLC, I would be willing to make in exchange for my 8 children. We live off less than Duggars spend a month on groceries, & live in an apartment smaller than most suites at a hotel that LPBW takes for a trip. You know what? I am one of the richest bloggers on this site. I have a great husband, great kids, great relatives and now an extended blogging family that knows the hypocrisy of the realest reality shows out there.
As far as the exploitation of the kids. It is obvious from the footage of last night that Tlc will do anything to get their way. They are not some channel trying to reach out to families and share their stories. They are some channel trying to manipulate, and make as cheaply as they can a hit show & if it is at the expense of kids they do not care. Because the parents sign on the dotted line......so they feel their duty is done.
Thanks for taking this one on for the team, Irene. I am taking my aspirin now... and preparing for tomorrow. Big poll on where we go from here. Z
Relief.
The kids may miss the crew but certainly not the cameras.
Apologies for the link in a prevous comment, Z.
I read you online and forgot that you work for the Baltimore Sun.........
Hi N.E.Ppsychologist,
I saw that article yesterday. It took a while to read, but, it was worth it. It gave you a pretty good idea of how hard and long those Gosselin kids worked. And, had they been taping in CA...the whole show may have been very different.
Did you see that the G's have a water bill from their old house, which was built for them in 2006 ( I didn't know that house was new or built for them) for over $2500. that is unpaid. Evidently, the house payment has not been paid since Oct. either. And, they have 9 more years to pay on the mansion, too. I think Kate was counting on those kids working for those 9 more yrs.
I wonder if she is banging her head against the wall thinking, " I could have just barged in to the white house dinner instead of having those 8 kids!'
Diane that is funny. Kate would not have the gall to barge in though. I see her more as the type to beg the White House to come, it would be good for her kids of course.
Also, Psychologist I like the article & it is just another shining example why we nominate Z to start reving up to write that......no pressure Z.
Hi Irene,
Oh, I think Kate has the gall to do anything. She just didn't think of that. Have a great day!
Do you live close to Gulf Shores? Hubby and I spent a week there this summer for our 35th anniversary. We got a trip tic that took us driving thru pretty much all of MS. The people there were very friendly. Not so much like that here in St. Louie....unless we are in the baseball playoffs. hehe.
Sorry Z....off topic.
Hey Diane, if you have facebook you can invite me from Z's page.
Z, I'm officially jumping onto the "book bandwagon."
