What a very bright, poised young lady. She is really trying to contribute in such a positive way despite being from such a wealthy family.
And, even though politically I am a Democrat through and through it does a heart good to see the Bushes have raised such an outstanding citizen to carry the torch.

I thought the segment was a wonderful introduction. Looking forward to Jenna making a meaningful contribution to the show.

Z, call me a sentimental old fool, but that little Jenna Bush ( Hager) clip you just posted from the "Today" show just got me all mushy.
Running that very short, yet very sweet encapsulation of Jenna's life depicted mostly in family videos from her play-pen days, to her recent nuptials, while she sat so demurely, and confidently on the "Today" show set w/ morning-T.V. icons Matt Lauer, Al Roker and Meredith Vieira could have been a real intimidating experience for most, but she seemed to handle the light back-and-forth banter like a seasoned pro, even being so bold as to "change the subject", and say how much she was looking forward to her new assignment. And she deftly fended off their little ploy to attempt to get her to sing her favorite Meatloaf song, which i thought was very cool. She's obviously not going to be pushed around.
In the little family video clip segment, I loved the supportive, heartfelt, brutally honest interstitial comments from Grandma Barbara Bush ("She can't sing, although she thinks she can, and her dad's worse."), her proud mom Laura, and her at-times very emotional older twin sister (by a few mere minutes, I gather), Barbara.
I thought the "Ganny" and "Gampy" bit referring to how the very young Bush girls called their grandparents was totally priceless.
I think young Jenna is a natural, and appears to be very down-to-earth and genuine, showing considerable accomplishment thus far in her relatively young life w/ her two published kids' books, her work in various foreign lands w/ UNICEF, w/ children struck by HIV/ AIDS, and her current dedication to teaching disadvantaged inner-city youth in the areas of basic literacy, reading, and creative writing.
I believe she will prove to be a great and valuable addition to the "Today" show 'family', as their
roving education field correspondent. She seems genuinely excited about the task at hand, and will bring intelligence, humor, and a real caring-giving-spirit to whatever challenge she may face.
As I've said before in earlier posts, I wish her only the BEST.
You Go Girl!

Hi ALEX, I can see there is no help for you. Those NBC News producers melted your heart with their clever editing and montage. No, I am kidding. I see your point, and if there wasn't something there with her, NBC wouldn't be bothering. But they sure gave her the good treatment. I think they want her to last. Thanks. I love your comments.Z

She's the daughter of a war criminal. I think it's disgusting that she is able to be on TV because of her family's wealth from war profiting blood money. America, wake up.

ALEX, NBC must have melted you. I am not so sure yet. I have to take a closer look at her reporting. I do admire her comments in the video. She said she was ready for the focus to be off of her an on to the education and humaintarian issues she will be addressing. This will be essential to her sucess her ability to let her personality that her sister was so emotional about to shine through and bring us the important education and womens issues. I would like to read her book Ana's Story if I can find time. Hope I did not post this twice. I hope she does this on her own and not because of her famous father. A credit to her is her work in the Baltimore schools. Go Jenna!

Have we not all have enough of the Bush family? There are 330,000,000 people in this country. Why not give someone else a chance for a change? Many more people with more talent than this one with her affinity for booze.
