Tyra Banks and Bristol Palin's ex talk "safe" sex
Is there any private place daytime talk TV won't go -- and pat itself on the back for going there?
Monday morning on the The Tyra Banks Show, Banks talks to Levi Johnston, the ex-fiance of Bristol Palin, daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Let me be plain about Johnston's claim to fame: He's the high school dropout who got the daughter of the conservative, "family values" politician pregnant. He's the kid whom GOP Presidential candidate John McCain greeted like a long lost son at the Republican National Convention after Palin was named McCain's running mate and news of the pregnancy became known.
If you tune in to the Tyra Show,you will hear such things as Banks asking Johnston is he practiced "safe sex" with Bristol Palin. You will hear him say, "yes."
Then, you will see Banks ask with some incredulity, "All the time?"
At first, Johnston says yes, but then, he says well, maybe not all the time as Banks plays him with a smile and a knowing wink. That's followed with everyone chuckling -- Banks, Johnston and the young man's mother and sister who are with him on-camera. He also says he is "pretty sure" Sarah Palin knew he and his daughter were "sexually active."
I wonder what sense other teenagers will make of Johnston being treated like a celebrity and chatting so "intimately" with such a beautiful woman. I wonder why we have so many unwed teenage fathers and mothers.

I think this kid loses his credibility, when he is now hurting the mother of his child and shame on tyra for taking a page out the springer show, if you want to discredit palin do it to her not her daughter.
Hi Ray: You probably know I am no fan of Palin. But even I am appalled by anyone putting this kid with all his vague hearsay about her on the air. It is reprehensible and unfair to Palin.Z

Enough already!!! Wasn't assassinating her character in the election sufficient? It's time to deal with the winner of the election......a suave, smooth talker who is masquerading as a leader.....who has never run anything, but now wants to run everything. I find that ironic.

I watch occasionally and have seen some informative broadcasts, However, I think for Tyra this is an all time low. What am I suppose to carry away from this episode. Everyone watching today has done nothing but engage in idle gossip. Hooray for Tyra. What a dissappointment. FYI....I changed the channel.

Tyra - You shouldn't be messing with these kids minds. The consequences of your shabby interview are completely unpredictable. I voted democrat, but watching you prod Levi on the safe sex question was like watching a deer in the headlights. Let me ask you this question: If the kid had been african-american would you have done the same thing?

Excuse me! But wasn't it Bristol Palin who was interviewed on the Greta Van Sustern show twice? And wasn't it Bristol who talked about sex and abstinence and how she wished she had waited 10 years, finished school, married and had her own house? And how she didn't think that abstinence was such a good idea? Bristol also talked about Levi and how he was a hands on Dad. Neither the Palin or Johnston family have clean hands on this saga. I'm sure there is more to come from both families. They need to stop and give the interviews a rest.

Why are you guys bashing this young man he is getting enough bashing in Alaska with the Palin's spreading dirty rumors about the whole family. They are calling them white trash. To top all of that off he can;t even see the baby without the visit being supervised and then he can only see them once a month. And you think I want a family like that in the white house. Please. she would have been in there abusing the power that was given to her. And for peaks sake stop bashing the president you may not like him or even hate him, but let him at least try and put this turmoiled country back together again. He won that election fair and square. So chill out and pray for something good to happen for and to this country!!!!!!
