American Chopper: Sarah Palin gets her motor running

aaMove over, Kate Gosselin, a bigger hot dog than you is coming to The Learning Channel Thursday night when Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appears on American Chopper.

Is this a marriage made in reality TV heaven or what?

Thursday's episode featues Paul Teutul Sr., the father of the chopper building clan that stars in this series, journeying to Alaska to do research on a special bike that he and his posse are building to honor the 50th anniversary of the state.

And, of course, who better to be his new  best biker mama friend than that moose hunting sharpshooter, who blew up any chance the Republicans had to make it to the White House last fall with her divisive rhetoric and disastrous TV interviews.

American Chooper airs at 9 Thursday night on TLC. Click on the jump for a clip of the show.

Would you actually watch this stuff if it wasn't your job?

This should be interesting. Looking forward to hearing your take on the program :)

Far out!

Sarah rocks.

I heard they made a bike commemorating the 50th anniversary of Alaska statehood.

By the way, Sarah was a plus to the ticket due to her getting GOP turnout higher. McCain was dead without her, and I mean dead.

Palin/(Galt) 2012 or 2016

:)

Z -GET OVER PALIN already.

I'm trying -- honest. Z

I love American Chopper and Sarah Palin. Thanks for the heads up.

what would fat Louie say?

Louie would have loved it, Mr. Baltimore in Exile. Z

You are a tool. The reason Bo didn't win in a Reagan landslide was Palin. Get a life.

Palin is so UNCOOL........

No, Palin was the only reason the GOP got the votes it did.

McCain was the reason the GOP went down in flames as many people couldn't hold their noses and vote for him and others decided if they were going to vote for a liberal they might as well vote for Obama and get a real liberal.

Dude, What's up with your unhealthy obsession with the Governor of Alaska.

Zuravik, you're sure an expert when it comes to "craziness" or "television" for that matter, but "culture"?!

My what a completely unbiased report! What a journalist!
Or--not so much.
Pathetic BS from the Baltimore Sun. No wonder you are in the toilet.

I gather there is no IQ test given to be a TV critic...

Sarah Palin is all that and a bag of chips! Get over yourself and your silly moose-hunting comments, Mr Z. Looking forward to the show.

'...moose hunting sharpshooter, who blew up any chance the Republicans had to make it to the White House last fall with her divisive rhetoric and disastrous TV interviews.'

Mr. Zurawik, it looks like you've certainly cornered the market on 'divisive rhetoric.'

Was this an article about the show or about slamming Palin? I didn't realize this was an "op-ed", thought I was reading entertainment.

Drinking the Kool-aid has not affected you has it??? I bet if Michelle Obama was on American Chopper having a bowel movement you would call it an artistic masterpiece.

David, I could not say it better myself and I am a conservative. Here are some of Palin's Disasterous Interviews...

Fox News: Palin didn't know Africa was a continent
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWZHTJsR4Bc

If Sarah Palin is so insignificant, why do you feel the need to degrade her? My guess is that some people are afraid of her future plans. Ever heard of PDS?

Z- Give it a rest.

...dude, do you get Green Stamps for every hateful liberal diatribe you spew? Can you cash them in for valuable prizes like a signed picture of Lord Obama or a copy of Rules for Radicals?

The hatred the elites show toward Palin is a manifestation of liberal bigotry.

She is not one of them and therefore must not be allowed to obtain political power and must be attacked and smeared at every opportunity; it says so in the manual for leftists.

Such bigotry is unbecoming for such "open-minded" and "liberal" "thinkers".

The election is over. You don't have to try to take her out anymore. The continued, smug mockery of her says much about the smug people who continue to do it. And I love the feigning of dismay at her effect on the McCain campaign. I remember in the beginning, the liberals were terrified of the spark she brought. And then the smearing and the condescension began in an all-out media barrage.

American Chopper should be thrilled to have our next president on their show.

I have a better one.

" Chicago Changes"

A Reality Show based on all the wonderful ways Obama CHANGED Chicago or Illinois. Or perhaps one based on all his accomplishments as an elected official over the last 10 years. I doubt you would have enough material for a pilot.

Poptech is a conservative like Zurawik is an Conservative.

Tools.

Wow 50K to redecorate an office? Amazing. How does this compare to the 300K Photo Op with Air Force One that scared half of New York City this week? The City of Wasilla VOTED for the Debt to Build a Sports Complex. It was done by referendum on a ballot at polling places. Yes True Democracy took place. The people decided they wanted the debt . Unlike the Trillions in Money Obama is spending, We have no VOTE,

From the AP

FACT CHECK: Obama disowns deficit he helped shape

“That wasn't me,” President Barack Obama said on his 100th day in office, disclaiming responsibility for the huge budget deficit waiting for him on Day One.

It actually was him — and the other Democrats controlling Congress the previous two years — who shaped a budget so out of balance.

And as a presidential candidate and president-elect, he backed the twilight Bush-era stimulus plan that made the deficit deeper, all before he took over and promoted spending plans that have made it much deeper still.

Are we having fun yet?

..... His assertion that his proposed budget “will cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term” is an eyeball-roller among many economists ....

..... OBAMA: “Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit.... That wasn't me.

..... THE FACTS: Congress controls the purse strings, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama's last two years as Illinois senator. Obama supported the emergency bailout package in President George W. Bush's final months — a package Democratic leaders wanted to make bigger.

..... OBAMA: “You could cut (Social Security) benefits. You could raise the tax on everybody so everybody's payroll tax goes up a little bit. Or you can do what I think is probably the best solution, which is you can raise the cap on the payroll tax.” — in Missouri.

THE FACTS: Obama's proposal would reduce the Social Security trust fund's deficit by less than half, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.

That means he would still have to cut benefits, raise the payroll tax rate, raise the retirement age or some combination to deal with the program's long-term imbalance.

You have a unique concept of "facts." Z

I always feel sorry for people, regardless of party, that take pleasure in the destruction of others.

It must be a sad life for David Zurawik to have such hate in his heart for people he doesn't agree with.

You must be mistaken, I like bikers. Z

... Z sounds alot like Frank Rich a theatre columnist that never writes about NY theatre, too busy trashing Republicans he is. And we all know how well the NY Times is doing. ..

It's instances such as these, that I derive such joy from watching liberal newspaper, after liberal newspaper go bankrupt.

And they wonder why?

Hey! Way to show your true colors...!

Might wanna make your move to Cuba now, bro.

Conservatism is taking this nation back by force - make sure you watch more news than MSNBC or you might not know when to duck.

Freakin' socialists....

ittollsforthee, notice how Zurawik doesn't dare try to REFUTE any of the facts you've presented, just a smart--- reply....

...Your guy won, now do your job. Dont engage in social commentary that you are not erudite enough to even comprehend let alone form an opinion on. Im sorry pretty girls rejected you in High School and you now hate them, but it isn't Sarahs fault. Next time instead of writing a column go see a shrink for your women issues.

Dave, get a life. You're another white, whiney liberal who will never give her credit. You must be jealous that she has more testosterone than you?

I love Sarah Palin! Thanks for the Palin tv plug, David. I'll definitely be watching her. Without her on the ticket, I would not have voted for McCain. She was the ONLY reason I voted for Pres, Senate, State and local elections.

How about you just stick to your little TV world & leave politics to the adults, okay?

Hello Rex, Actually, the TV world is a very, very big one that includes politics. That's part of what makes it such a great beat. Thanks. Z

Wow Zurawik, so that's how you run your comments? \

... go ahead, edit away.

u r a ------

ummm so palin doesnt know alot?

well how many states are in the USA? I mean doesnt event a 3rd grader know its 50?

Well i think the chose one obama said we had what 52? and he had been to ALL OF THEM.....wow hes amazing...

oh and i hate when people say palin did not know what teh bush doctrine was, welll NEITHER DID THE QUESTIONEER, neither do most of hte media

the term was made up by bob woodward in one of his bush at war books....he made it up, it was NOT the doctrine of president bush,

and btw, palin asked the right question, she asked "doctrine as to what?"

I for one was shocked how Mr. Gibson could ask a question (that is irrelevant) that he had no research of...

kinda like Mr. Z and his column

It sure is fun to watch you libs wet yourselves over Palin. It's obvious you can't stand the fact that someone who has a huge following of admirers is competition for your exalted President.

Palin Rocks

You s---.

I predict this will be the most watched AC program in their history.

The 100 day worship fest last night was a dull thud. It only reminded me that with only 100 days behind us, we still have 14,500 more days of this disastrous circus of fools to forego and endure.

Rather than critique shows, which is his job, Z loves to spew ... against anyone who is not liberal, or praise any left wing show. ...

The creators of "American Chopper" have made a custom motorcycle to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of Alaska's statehood. WTF? The show is called "American Chopper" isn't it? The state in question is the same "Alaska" that Sarah Palin and her husband wanted to secede from the United States? Wow.... You silly, fake-Americans have got reality all f'd up. "American Chopper" wants to celebrate a state that doesn't want anything to do with America. I guess next... they'll be delivering a new "customized chopper" to George W. Bush's new house in Texas to honor his presidency and Texas' ambitions to secede from the U.S., too......

"American Chopper".... What a crock of doo-doo

McCain was the dead weight on the ticket, not Palin. She was the only reason I voted GOP in the last election.

And what you call divisive rhetoric, I call standing up for principles.

...Palin cost the GOP the election? Really? Then why did McCain's numbers skyrocket after her nomination? Why did she draw mkuch larger crowds than he did?
Please. You're entitled to your own opinion bu,t not your own facts.
...

Hey PopTech...you know what's sad? It's sad that you actually took the time to write up that lame attempt a humor...you've got too much time on your hands.

Let's see, McCain was drawing hundreds to his rallies...then Palin came on board and it turned into thousands, sometimes in the 10's of thousands...Yeah she really hurt his chances a lot!

The media decided the election. Palin could have done everything perfectly, McCain could have come out with a cure for cancer and a car that runs on air a week before the election, and Obama still would have won.

It's funny but "Lie To Me" on Fox out rated the "Lie To America" special starring BHO... even Top Model on CW did better....

David Zurawik, you are like all other liberals. ... You need to take a trip to Mexico dude. You look like you need a rest. ... Kiss a pig while you are there.

..... THE FACTS: Congress controls the purse strings, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama's last two years as Illinois senator.

Yes, someone does have a unique interpretation the word 'facts'.

Yes, Obama inherited the debt from Republicans, in particular, G.W. Bush, a Republican.

While it is true that Congress controls the purse strings, it is not strictly true that Democrats 'controlled' Congress for the last two years of Bush's administration, at least in the area of getting legislation passed. They indeed had, for the first time in the Bush Era, a majority (over 50%), which simply means that on any issue where everyone voted party, more bills favored by Democrats were sent to Bush's desk. If he vetoed them, the Republicans had the votes needed (again, if all voted party line, to see that the bill didn't get a 2/3rds 'yea' vote to override the veto.

I'd hardly call that Democratic 'control'.

(Didn't any of you see or pay attention to Schoolhouse Rock on TV growing up? Sing along with me, "I'm just a bill, up on Capitol Hill ...")

Plus, how much of the $1.3 trill debt was accrued in the previous six years when the Congress was, as you have admitted, controlled by Republicans? Just using simple math I'd guess at least $97.5 billion. And it's ridiculous to think that a Republican-controlled Congress from 2006-2008 wouldn't have "added" approximately the same amount as the Dems allegedly did in the same time period. Even if they would have spent less, it would be nowhere near enough to have left Obama, or whoever was incoming President in 2009, with anything other that an enormous-by-any-standard national debt to have to deal with.

Can't ya just please own up to something, once? Just say, "Yeah, Republicans ran up a huge deficit because we didn't want to raise taxes and we did have a very expensive war we were fighting".

My true feeling is that, if we, the American people, want a war, we SHOULD be expected to pay for it! It SHOULD hit us square in the pocketbook! More taxes for war expenses SHOULD be levied. Wouldn't it be unpatriotic not to? We say we should support the troops, well, that means with our money, doesn't it?

And yes, I gladly pay whatever taxes come down the pike in the next four years, and I will assess in 2012 who I want to vote for for Pres. based on their policies and past experience.

But then, as someone just pointed out, since Congress holds the purse strings, having a 'fiscally conservative' president is no guarantee that all new legislation will be 'fiscally conservative'. Your votes for House Reps. and Senators are actually the more important races.

I'm sure Barry is glad to see you're still in full-on Team Obama Campaign/ Attack mode.

So, what part of Barry's first 100 days do YOU find most enchanting?

... Talk about a marriage made in heaven...

Wow, nice bout of Palin Derangement Syndrome. You know there is medication for that. You realize that Palin saved McCain's disastrous campaign from greater defeat? Like many others, I would have voted third party or stayed home. Alas, McCain was still McCain in the end.

Your comments give me great insight into how you FEEL about Sarah Palin personally.

Awesome: Palin to appear on “American Chopper”
http://hotair.com/headlines/?p=38535

I’m sorry, I should know better.

Must link facts.

Yes, Obama inherited a very, very large deficit from G. W. Bush and Republicans.

From the Congressional Budget Office website:

http://cbo.gov/budget/data/historical.pdf

The first two columns are “ins” and “outs”. Then look at the ‘total’ column.

In that column, you can clearly see for yourselves that the years that the national debt was added to the most were the years 2004, 2005, and 2003.

Look at the total column. If it has a negative sign by it, that means an addition to our debt.

2003-2005 (Republican president and majority Republican congress) added (in billions) $377.6, $412.7 and $318.2 for a whopping total of $1,108.5 billion.

2006-2007 (Republican president and majority Democrat congress) added $248.2 and $160.7 for a whopping total of $408.9 billion.

Republicans (2003-2005) Average adding to National debt = $1,108.5 billion divided by three years = $369.5 billion a year.

Democrats (2006-2007) Average adding to national debt = $204.45 billion.

Which is less?

Republicans added $369.5 per year
Democrats added $204.45 per year

Anybody can see that Republicans added an average of $165.05 billion dollars per year MORE than Democrats did in five key years during the Bush administration. So please explain to me again how the current US budget deficit that Pres. Obama has inherited is NOT the fault of Republicans?

(BTW, the same document shows that the only budget surpluses in recent US history, came between 1998-2001, which, correct me if I’m wrong and I know you will, was during the Bill Clinton administration).

http://cbo.gov/budget/data/historical.pdf

I love the media narative that Chicago is the new Camelot.

Maybe Barrack 'I have a gift' Obama could join the show the following week and they could have a race with Air Force One. That would make a great photo op.

Stewartill forgets that Democrats controlled congress and the budget since 2006.

Hey Z, can you refresh my memory..

Moose hunting sharpshooter? Sarah Palin is no more than that? How about mother if 5? How about grandmother of 1? How about she worked her way through college? How about she managed to become Mayor of Wasilla and Governor of Alaska without all of the cushy trappings that the liberal elite have when they sieze power? (eg Al Franken, Harvard grad, Ted Kennedy, filthy rich guy, Barack Obama, Columbia/Harvard grad, etc).

Zurawik....
Stick with TV and give up the pundit gig.

Mr David Zurawik,

Thanks for revealing your Moonbat Troll nature to the world under the guise of a TV programming critic.

This puts you in league with other Moonbat Trolls like that freak Jeanane Gorofalo, and the CNN Socialist hack Susan Roesgen.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Little Marvin, funny how you left out the 2009 1.8 TRILLION deficit from the DEMOCTATIC budget, signed by OBAMA. How does that effect you averages (assuming you know now to determine averages)? It's the largest deficit EVER and it's all from team BLUE.
Get over your ignorance. Moron.

Is this Zurawik person that wrote his OPINION about Palin at the end of this article , is he living in a bubble?

It is sad that liberals such as yourself are so full of hate and vitriol towards people with whom you disagree. Gov Palin was not the drag on the GOP ticket (despite the best efforts of people like you). McCain was the reason McCain didn't win - that and the slobbering love affair the media had with "The One."

And by the way, while Gov Palin is serving as one of the most (if not the most) popular governors in America, one wonders what actual contribution someone as yourself has actually made to society. My guess is none.

I think some folks here, particularly the 'author' of this 'review', are in serious need of therapy and strong medication.

I also suggest a crash helmet and drool bucket for 'Z'. He could harm himself.

When the next Administration has to deal with the permanent collapse of America's economy due to the 10 trillion dollar annual deficits from here until forever caused by Obama's gigantic porkulus bills, we'll need someone around who has a little bit of courage and fortitude to try and pull some deadenders of the nanny-state teat and steer us back towards free enterprise.

Oh, but please, I guess you believe the guy who says "I'm from the guvment and I'm here to help!" God save us all.

Sounds like Z is a little jealous of Sarah... what offends you most; her abortion stance, religious belief or just the fact that she isn't a big-city east coast lib?

Sarah Palin is amazing and i would vote for her any day!!! She was the most qualified of all the candidates. How come no one makes jokes about Joe Biden he gives us more material than Dan Quail!!!

You and your like-minded posters need professional mental help. Besides your teen-angst stylings that pass for some sort of "review", the "thin resume" comment by some other loser looks pretty stupid too. I'm convinced - you leftists like to tell everyone how smart you are, but more and more, it seems like mirror-staring self affirmation.

Why is it that every liberal entertainment hack feels the need to spew out their political beliefs? We get it. You don't like Sarah Palin. ...

Picking this crazy hag was the stupidest thing I'd done since crashing my 3rd training flight!

She's crazier that a rat in a tin outhouse. I would know!

Sad part is when the "Palin / Plumber" ticket runs in 2012 my dear party will officially be sittin' in the dustbin of history. (along with my pride)

Why did you feel the need to state your personal negative feelings about Sarah Palin and the election?
Is it because you wanted the Republicans to win and you felt that she lost the election for your side? Well, the many reasons that the Republicans lost are debatable. Or is it that you just don't like her and you are very happy with the outcome of the election? If that is so, I especially would like to know your need to further denigrate this woman?

Sarah Palin and Kate Gosselin are two of a kind....narcissistic, CHILD EXPLOITING, greedy, freebie seeking, attention mongering, has to wear the pants bitches.

Even Trig Palin would have made a better candidate than Sarah Palin.....

There are a lot of people who probably don't know Africa is a continent, that is why we are in so much trouble. That and Sarah Palin on American Chopper.
