American Chopper: Sarah Palin gets her motor running
Move over, Kate Gosselin, a bigger hot dog than you is coming to The Learning Channel Thursday night when Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin appears on American Chopper.
Is this a marriage made in reality TV heaven or what?
Thursday's episode featues Paul Teutul Sr., the father of the chopper building clan that stars in this series, journeying to Alaska to do research on a special bike that he and his posse are building to honor the 50th anniversary of the state.
And, of course, who better to be his new best biker mama friend than that moose hunting sharpshooter, who blew up any chance the Republicans had to make it to the White House last fall with her divisive rhetoric and disastrous TV interviews.
American Chooper airs at 9 Thursday night on TLC. Click on the jump for a clip of the show.

Far out!
Sarah rocks.
I heard they made a bike commemorating the 50th anniversary of Alaska statehood.
By the way, Sarah was a plus to the ticket due to her getting GOP turnout higher. McCain was dead without her, and I mean dead.
Palin/(Galt) 2012 or 2016

No, Palin was the only reason the GOP got the votes it did.
McCain was the reason the GOP went down in flames as many people couldn't hold their noses and vote for him and others decided if they were going to vote for a liberal they might as well vote for Obama and get a real liberal.

The hatred the elites show toward Palin is a manifestation of liberal bigotry.
She is not one of them and therefore must not be allowed to obtain political power and must be attacked and smeared at every opportunity; it says so in the manual for leftists.
Such bigotry is unbecoming for such "open-minded" and "liberal" "thinkers".

The election is over. You don't have to try to take her out anymore. The continued, smug mockery of her says much about the smug people who continue to do it. And I love the feigning of dismay at her effect on the McCain campaign. I remember in the beginning, the liberals were terrified of the spark she brought. And then the smearing and the condescension began in an all-out media barrage.

From the AP
FACT CHECK: Obama disowns deficit he helped shape
“That wasn't me,” President Barack Obama said on his 100th day in office, disclaiming responsibility for the huge budget deficit waiting for him on Day One.
It actually was him — and the other Democrats controlling Congress the previous two years — who shaped a budget so out of balance.
And as a presidential candidate and president-elect, he backed the twilight Bush-era stimulus plan that made the deficit deeper, all before he took over and promoted spending plans that have made it much deeper still.
Are we having fun yet?
..... His assertion that his proposed budget “will cut the deficit in half by the end of my first term” is an eyeball-roller among many economists ....
..... OBAMA: “Number one, we inherited a $1.3 trillion deficit.... That wasn't me.
..... THE FACTS: Congress controls the purse strings, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama's last two years as Illinois senator. Obama supported the emergency bailout package in President George W. Bush's final months — a package Democratic leaders wanted to make bigger.
..... OBAMA: “You could cut (Social Security) benefits. You could raise the tax on everybody so everybody's payroll tax goes up a little bit. Or you can do what I think is probably the best solution, which is you can raise the cap on the payroll tax.” — in Missouri.
THE FACTS: Obama's proposal would reduce the Social Security trust fund's deficit by less than half, according to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center.
That means he would still have to cut benefits, raise the payroll tax rate, raise the retirement age or some combination to deal with the program's long-term imbalance.
You have a unique concept of "facts." Z

The state in question is the same "Alaska" that Sarah Palin and her husband wanted to secede from the United States? Wow.... You silly, fake-Americans have got reality all f'd up. "American Chopper" wants to celebrate a state that doesn't want anything to do with America. I guess next... they'll be delivering a new "customized chopper" to George W. ..... THE FACTS: Congress controls the purse strings, not the president, and it was under Democratic control for Obama's last two years as Illinois senator.
Yes, someone does have a unique interpretation the word 'facts'.
Yes, Obama inherited the debt from Republicans, in particular, G.W. Bush, a Republican.
While it is true that Congress controls the purse strings, it is not strictly true that Democrats 'controlled' Congress for the last two years of Bush's administration, at least in the area of getting legislation passed. They indeed had, for the first time in the Bush Era, a majority (over 50%), which simply means that on any issue where everyone voted party, more bills favored by Democrats were sent to Bush's desk. If he vetoed them, the Republicans had the votes needed (again, if all voted party line, to see that the bill didn't get a 2/3rds 'yea' vote to override the veto.
I'd hardly call that Democratic 'control'.
(Didn't any of you see or pay attention to Schoolhouse Rock on TV growing up? Sing along with me, "I'm just a bill, up on Capitol Hill ...")
Plus, how much of the $1.3 trill debt was accrued in the previous six years when the Congress was, as you have admitted, controlled by Republicans? Just using simple math I'd guess at least $97.5 billion. And it's ridiculous to think that a Republican-controlled Congress from 2006-2008 wouldn't have "added" approximately the same amount as the Dems allegedly did in the same time period. Even if they would have spent less, it would be nowhere near enough to have left Obama, or whoever was incoming President in 2009, with anything other that an enormous-by-any-standard national debt to have to deal with.
Can't ya just please own up to something, once? Just say, "Yeah, Republicans ran up a huge deficit because we didn't want to raise taxes and we did have a very expensive war we were fighting".
My true feeling is that, if we, the American people, want a war, we SHOULD be expected to pay for it! It SHOULD hit us square in the pocketbook! More taxes for war expenses SHOULD be levied. Wouldn't it be unpatriotic not to? We say we should support the troops, well, that means with our money, doesn't it?
And yes, I gladly pay whatever taxes come down the pike in the next four years, and I will assess in 2012 who I want to vote for for Pres. based on their policies and past experience.
But then, as someone just pointed out, since Congress holds the purse strings, having a 'fiscally conservative' president is no guarantee that all new legislation will be 'fiscally conservative'. Your votes for House Reps. and Senators are actually the more important races.

I’m sorry, I should know better.
Must link facts.
Yes, Obama inherited a very, very large deficit from G. W. Bush and Republicans.
From the Congressional Budget Office website:
http://cbo.gov/budget/data/historical.pdf
The first two columns are “ins” and “outs”. Then look at the ‘total’ column.
In that column, you can clearly see for yourselves that the years that the national debt was added to the most were the years 2004, 2005, and 2003.
Look at the total column. If it has a negative sign by it, that means an addition to our debt.
2003-2005 (Republican president and majority Republican congress) added (in billions) $377.6, $412.7 and $318.2 for a whopping total of $1,108.5 billion.
2006-2007 (Republican president and majority Democrat congress) added $248.2 and $160.7 for a whopping total of $408.9 billion.
Republicans (2003-2005) Average adding to National debt = $1,108.5 billion divided by three years = $369.5 billion a year.
Democrats (2006-2007) Average adding to national debt = $204.45 billion.
Which is less?
Republicans added $369.5 per year
Democrats added $204.45 per year
Anybody can see that Republicans added an average of $165.05 billion dollars per year MORE than Democrats did in five key years during the Bush administration. So please explain to me again how the current US budget deficit that Pres. Obama has inherited is NOT the fault of Republicans?
(BTW, the same document shows that the only budget surpluses in recent US history, came between 1998-2001, which, correct me if I’m wrong and I know you will, was during the Bill Clinton administration).

It is sad that liberals such as yourself are so full of hate and vitriol towards people with whom you disagree. Gov Palin was not the drag on the GOP ticket (despite the best efforts of people like you). McCain was the reason McCain didn't win - that and the slobbering love affair the media had with "The One."
And by the way, while Gov Palin is serving as one of the most (if not the most) popular governors in America, one wonders what actual contribution someone as yourself has actually made to society. My guess is none.

Sounds like Z is a little jealous of Sarah... what offends you most; her abortion stance, religious belief or just the fact that she isn't a big-city east coast lib?

You and your like-minded posters need professional mental help. Besides your teen-angst stylings that pass for some sort of "review", the "thin resume" comment by some other loser looks pretty stupid too. I'm convinced - you leftists like to tell everyone how smart you are, but more and more, it seems like mirror-staring self affirmation.

Why is it that every liberal entertainment hack feels the need to spew out their political beliefs? We get it. You don't like Sarah Palin. ...

Picking this crazy hag was the stupidest thing I'd done since crashing my 3rd training flight!
She's crazier that a rat in a tin outhouse. I would know!
Sad part is when the "Palin / Plumber" ticket runs in 2012 my dear party will officially be sittin' in the dustbin of history. (along with my pride)

Why did you feel the need to state your personal negative feelings about Sarah Palin and the election?
Is it because you wanted the Republicans to win and you felt that she lost the election for your side? Well, the many reasons that the Republicans lost are debatable. Or is it that you just don't like her and you are very happy with the outcome of the election? If that is so, I especially would like to know your need to further denigrate this woman?

There are a lot of people who probably don't know Africa is a continent, that is why we are in so much trouble. That and Sarah Palin on American Chopper.
