This weekend at Z on TV: "Reliable Sources" and "60"

Barack and Michelle Obama do their first post-election interview Sunday night on 60 Minutes, and I will be writing about afterwards right here.

Earlier in the day at 10 a.m. Sunday, I'll be a guest on CNN's Reliable Sources and we will be talking about Alaska Governor Sarah Palin's media blitz this week.

Please stop back to Z on TV Sunday night and tune in Sunday morning to CNN for Reliable Sources.

Last week, 60 Minutes was the number one show on TV with an audience of 18.47 million viewers. Here's a piece I wrote about the venerable newsmagazine describing it as the "dinosaur" that still rules Planet Television. Beyond the ratings, the show has tremendous cultural clout and serves as a model for other traditional media outlets trying to find their way in the new media world.

i'm sure your take of palin will be all positive and you will not highlight any type of double standard that the media showed covering palin vs. biden.

better yet, why is it now that the election is over that the media is suddenly covering william ayers?

Hi Brandon: I am guessing that you are being sarcastic about the first remark. But I have been thinking about Biden coverage, and whether there is truth in what you say. He was given an easy time about some fairly obvious gaffes. As for Ayers, I am wondering as well why he is suddenly showing up in the media. I want to see more before I commit, but I am wondering why now? And why should a guy with his record suddenly be on TV? I have to analyze what he is saying and how he is being packaged in the set-ups, but I share your skepticism on this one. Thanks. Z

sorry, i don't mean to come off as a sarcastic jerk. it's just maddening to me when i think of the election coverage and the double standard that i see.

Hi Brandon, I do understand what you are saying, and you are not in any way coming off as a "jerk," believe me. You are one of the most thoughtful readers of this blog. Biden was cut some slack by the press compared to Palin. I think that is fair to say. Z

When is "Damages" coming back?

Will check, and post here when I find out. Z
