Scott Brown and ... 'American Idol'?

To put it mildly, Scott Brown is in the news today after his win of the Massachusetts senate seat.

He mentioned in his victory speech that his daughter, Ayla, was romantically available. Wait a minute ... Ayla Brown, you say?

Ayla Brown from season five of American Idol, who made the Top 20? And then made it to the Top 18 when she sang "Reflections" from Mulan, and made me feel 900 years old by referring it to her favorite movie when she was growing up? And made the Top 16 after taking on some Celine Dion? And then broke my heart when she got eliminated after singing "Unwritten" and cried when she got the news that she was out?

The very same.

Anyway, here's what Senator-elect Brown had to say in his speech that brought all this attention (back) to his daughter Ayla:

And as always, I rely on Gail's love and support and that of our two lovely daughters. So I want to thank Ayla and Arianna for their help as well. And just in case anyone who's watching throughout the country, they're both available. No, no, no. No. Only kidding, only kidding. Only kidding, only kidding. Arianna's definitely not available. But Ayla is.

By the way, according to her web site, Ayla has a CD out next week.

Wow...good catch Sarah.

SKK: I credit my husband for that find. He alerted me to it.
