The Amazing Race: Recap in a nutshell

Mika and CanaanSarah's on vacation and missed last night's "Amazing Race." Unleashed blogger Jill Rosen has graciously donated her time and talents to this mini-recap of Sunday's episode. Enjoy!

This week's Amazing Race in a nutshell: The teams were in Dubai. They stopped in at the top of the world's tallest building. Mika (at left with partner Canaan) cried because she's scared of heights. Meghan and Cheyne ended up with fast-forward, allowing them to do a race-car event and then go straight to the pit stop. Meghan cried at the race car event, too. Inexplicably. She might have even cried at the pit stop.

The rest of the teams went from the tall building into the desert, where one team member had to search about in the sand for a clay pot with water, fill a bag with water, and then bring it back to a camel. Much sweating and swearing ensued. From the 100-degree temperatures of the desert, the teams then went to Ski Dubai -- what is essentially a snow-covered indoor mountain built in the middle of the city. With that much absurd decadence, Americans should not be getting such a bad rap in the world for waste.

Anyway. The teams could either sled down the hill and look for a tiny snowman in a pile of snow, or sled down the hill and then take some snow outside in the blistering heat to build a snowman. Brian and Ericka found a snowman in the pile in like 12 seconds and made it to the pit stop second.

After getting horribly lost, but not being as obnoxious as usual, Lance and Keri came in last and were eliminated from the race.

Thank goodness they are gone!

Megan and Cheyne got the Fast Forward, not Mika and Canaan. Mika did cry at the tower, though.

Thanks! We are making the correction.

OK, so I was really excited when they got to Dubai…the tallest building in the world. Whoo-Hoo! Make ‘em jump, make ‘em jump!

Uh, no. They ride up, and then they ride down. WTF? That’s a challenge?

Cheyne is starting to get on my nerves. On the fast forward, using an idea apparently stolen from Leno’s new show where it is also exceedingly boring, he drives around the track, then yells, “I’m the man!” Well, yeah, maybe on a show where riding an elevator up and down is a challenge, you da man, Cheyne. But you wouldn’t last a day on Survivor, if Evil Russell got hold of you.

You didn’t think Lance was as obnoxious as usual, Jill? I thought he was in normal Lance “ugly American” form, and I’m glad to see him go.

Glad that Lance was eliminated. For a second there I thought it was a non elimination leg b/c Phil was taking his time b4 he said they were gone.

My question. When the poker girls wrecked their car because they got careless and in a hurry. (And I love the guy saying, "Radiator Broken")

Why wasn't they penalized or made to wait for a replacement vehicle???? I have seen other teams have vehicle problem in the past, and there is no immediate replacement nor do they have to.

Previews for next week shows Mika being afraid to slide down the water slide, that looks to be very very tall.

what an episode! I just love the amazing race in seeing whats going to happen. I was so glad that megan and cheyne got the fast forward and so happy that Lance and keri got elimated. He was annoying and not so nice. What up with the brothers staying with the girls because there car got broken down... i know totally i wish they had to wait longer like all other racers from preivous seasons.
