'Real Housewives Of D.C.' apparently begins shooting this week

Chances are you'll probably bump into a camera crew if you go into D.C. There are like a billion reality shows being shot there right now! Okay, maybe like four or five. (In addition to Real Housewives of D.C., The Real World is currently filming, and a couple other shows, including one about Capitol Hill movers and shakers, are in the works.)

Bravo is in town filming its highly anticipated D.C. version of its Real Housewives franchise. The cameras are suppose to start rolling Friday.

Politico.com has posted a "wish-list" of women in the District who would make good castmembers, but it's unlikely any of these women would actually appear on the show.

Several blogs, including this one, have already posted some names of women believed to be on the show.

I just hope that Bravo will be able to field a cast that reflects the rich diversity that D.C. has to offer.

And for those of you who are in love with the current members of the Atlanta cast, you'll get a kick out of this horrible single, "Tardy For The Party," by Kim. It is soooooo bad!

Another housewife spin-off. How dreary! At some point, we have to say enough is enough. Which was the first show for me. These others are just channel filler.

Have you all seen that on Fox Reality Channel there is a show called "Househusbands of LA". Speaking of spin-off's...

SKK: OK, that is terrifying.

Lynda Erkiltean owns a modeling agency.

Michaela Salahi, wife of Tareq, and tall blond ex-model.

Mary Schmidt Amons, grandaughter of Arthur Godfrey and creator of a charity called Labels for Love.

YAY for D.C. The 2nd season of the RHOA has been the worst.

Real housewives of DC will suck because it won't be REAL housewives of DC. If your not going to do DC right, then don't do it at all. DC is full of Culture, (not just African American) and this won't portray the TRUE DC. I am an African American woman and I have watched at least one season of all the housewives and I felt like the characters really fit the cities, especially Orange Co, New York and Atlanta. New Jersey was a little unexpected, but I still watched it. I don't mind watching diverse reality shows as long as its a good cast that reflects its surroundings. I'm not saying that this cast should be full of African American women, but the level of diversity is horrible. Sorry to say I don't agree with the cast of Dc. I'm already disappointed and the show hasn't even aired yet. :(

Here...here nene04. 100% with you. i think more people will be pissed off and the show should be spoken out against. alot of people feel the way you do, including me. I am doing a spin off which will show the REAL DC women...not the ones who were sent here because their biz is here...but real woman who are actually from here who is not going to just showcase the wealth they have but use what they have to help the innercities and make it fun.

About Sarah Kelber
Sarah Kickler Kelber, an editor in the features department since 1999, got sucked into reality TV with the first episode of MTV's The Real World in 1992. Then came Survivor and American Idol, and suddenly, the genre was everywhere.
