'Dancing With the Stars': Another couple hits the road

It's another results show for Dancing With the Stars. I don't know about you, but I'm still hoping Tom "The Hammer" DeLay gets the boot. (Mixing metaphors already? It's going to be a long night.)

* Results start pretty quickly: Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson are safe, as are Mya and Dmitry Chaplin and Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff.

* Joss Stone performs.

* There's a segment on the new training facility and how it brings them all together.

* More results, from those who scored 21: Mark and Lacey are safe, as are Natalie and Alec. But Debi and Maks are "still in jeopardy. That doesn't seem to mean that they are in the bottom two, though.

* Selena Gomez performs after a break.

* Joanna and Derek are safe, as are Michael and Anna. After the break, Chuck and Anna learn that they are safe. Melissa and Mark are, too. Kelly and Louis? Same. Louie and Chelsie, though, are "still in jeopardy."

* Next up for Star of Dance, the USC Trojans Marching Band (sorry, kids, but my heart belongs to the Oregon Marching Band) makes its way into the studio for a performance along with some dancers doing tricks and some stompers.

* Joss Stone comes back to sing another song, reminding us all that, even though she's a fine singer, this show could easily be 30 minutes instead of an hour.

* Last results: Tom DeLay and Cheryl are safe. (Noooooooooooooooooo!) Kathy and Tony are not.

* This leaves the three couples in trouble. Louie and Chelsie learn that they are, indeed, safe, as are Debi and Maks, so Kathy Ireland and Tony are out.

She says she wouldn't change a moment of it, and that it's been good fun.

They take their last dance, and I'm left wondering: Who is voting for Tom Delay?

What do you think about the results?

ToM Delay sucks! Does he have THIS rigged like he did in politics too???!

Tom DeLay must go. I refuse to watch until he's gone. If I wanted to watch politicians on TV, I'd turn on C-SPAN.

Please report the facts and forget your tasteless personal bias.

SKK: My personal bias is that Tom DeLay can't dance and doesn't have personality on stage.

While this is, of course, a dancing competition, like any other "reality" tv competition, a contestant's personality is very important. I think that was Kathy's issue. While I'm sure she is a sincere and genuine person, she simply came off as being very fake. She also didn't really seem to be very into the competition. Not to mention, her dancing was not that great either, when compared to many of the other couples. (much better than i could ever do, though!) I think there is a lot of potential this season, and I'm excited to see how things go ... especially with the weeks of double eliminations coming in a few weeks.

SKK: Totally agree, Molly.

I don't know who's voting for Tom Delay but I can tell you who isn't -- that's me out here in California. Waiting for the results but I always peek at the spoilers. Keep up the good work!

I am voting for him!
Are you are just against him because he is conservative?

SKK: No, I feel like he has no sense of humor about himself, which makes his time on stage extremely awkward. This isn't just limited to politicians; several of the comedians who have gotten kicked off early have had the same trouble.

You should stop hating on Tom Delay like that. He has fans out there just like everybody else. Thats who's voting for him.

YSarah - your constant negativity toward Tom Delay is a turn-off. There are many people who support him and hope he goes a long way in the competition. A pro-lifer like him will always get my support. It'd be nice if you'd try to be a little more neutral and not so hateful.

SKK asks: Who is voting for Tom Delay?

It's a vast, right-wing conspiracy.

I think it should be judges score 75% and voters 25% for results especialy the last 4 dances. The way this is done now is just popularity contest. I do like watching but not happy with the way the judging is done.

Thank you, Bucky!

Or--just to be contrary--maybe it's the left wing voting for Tom in the hope that he may damage his reputation (not to mention his feet) still more.

Donna--news flash--this is exactly a popularity contest, with a little dancing thrown in.

You're welcome, Dahlink. Glad to help sort these things out.

Debi has a horrible attitude towards Maks. I think she should have went home. Besides she can't dance worth a lick.

As evidenced by the comments above ("OMG HOW DARE U HATE ON TOM DELAY, MY BFF? HE'S TOTES CONSERVATIVE AND UR JUST A H8R"), I would say that people are not voting based on his performance, but on his politics. Which really speaks to the validity of the results. *rolls eyes*

SKK: HA! Thanks for the laugh, Laylah.

Lena, I beg to disagree. Debi is one of my favorites, and I adore her attitude. See--something for everyone!

I would have to wonder also. Tom is a horrible dancer. I ache just watching him. I feel very bad for Cheryl that she got stuck with him.
He must be stuffing the ballot box.

I'll agree; Mr. DeLay isn't much of a dancer. He should be next, but the party of no will keep him on late, as this season's joke who went too far. This isn't about politics, kiddies, so don't get your bloomers in a knot. I like Donny, Louie, Kelly, and Mya, they should be the top 4.
