'Big Brother': On Chima's ouster and the aftermath

Honestly, after all the buildup, I expected to see more drama leading up to Chima's removal from the Big Brother house for breaking the rules.

If you didn't see, she refused requests to put on her microphone, and then after her roommates brought it to her, she tossed it into the hot tub. After repeated requests to go to the Diary Room, executive producer Allison Grodner came over the loudspeaker to tell her to go to the Diary Room right then. Chima finally listened to that, and she was ushered immediately from the house.

But if her removal wasn't dramatic, the aftermath was.

Kevin lost it, I think wishing that she had listened to him when he was trying to protect her. Natalie started pontificating that it must be Michele's fault, that she drove her to that. Kevin and Lydia talked her down, kind of. "They took her HOH power away!" Natalie yelled. Lydia reminded her that it is a game and said that Chima had choices in the game, had the choice to follow the rules and chose not to. Good points, those.

Speaking of having people's HOH powers away, Michele's reign is ended, too, and there was a new HOH competition.

At the golf-themed competition, Jordan won (after Jeff gave it to her), and Lydia, previously calm, went off the rails, calling Jordan a "ho," a "ho puppet" and other assorted nicknames, after which she claimed that what "you did" to Chima and the Jessie was wrong. Oh, please. After that, Lydia dumped out Michele's beer for no reason, while Michele taunted her about needing to wear her unitard (her "prize" from the competition).

Then there were lots of LOUD NOISES!

Once Lydia donned the Captain Unitard costume, it seemed to improve her spirits, oddly enough. At least until nominations, when Jordan put Natalie and Lydia on the block.

Jordan interviewed that she wanted Natalie, who is actually trying to play the game, out, and Natalie interviewed that she wasn't going to give up easily.

So after all that, the episode ended in a rather typical way. What did you think about the episode?

It's 'reign', not 'rein'.

SKK: Whoops, thanks, typing too fast. Will fix it now. Thanks for the heads up!

The houseguests all knew that such a power (Coup d'Etat) existed before they signed up. It was introduced in an earlier season.

Plus, Jessie "won" the first HOH of the season without even competing. It was poetic justice that he was unable to compete to stay in the house.

Chima should've just followed the rules she agreed to follow. She had a real chance of winning the game (though I'm not all that sad to see her go)

It is hilarious how Lydia is complaining about Jeff, who saved her from eviction, and defending Chima, who put her on the block, and Jessie, who once voted to evict her.

I love Kevin - he is so real and down to earth. They all can't see how much a better player Michele is and how her only weakness right now is that Jeff and Russell would probably have the edge in an endurance competition. She has won something three of the past four weeks. They shouldn't underestimate her.

Wow its amazing how Jesse gets evicted and half the house goes nuts. I was hoping they would show the meeting between Chima and the BB staff. And When Lydia had the nerve to call Jordan a "ho" I thought back to all of the sexual favors she did for Jesse while he was in the house. Anybody with the live feeds or reads the updates know what Im talking about.

They keep forgetting the main theme, expect the unexpected. Remember, its Big Brother and anything can happen.

SKK: I know, so frustrating. They remember it until their team doesn't have power, and then they go nuts. (Or at least Lydia does.)

I really don't expect this to be posted...however I Have always enjoyed BB but this time it really hit me how bias this program is. A minority doesn"t stand a chance of winning this game and you all know it to be true...a house with one black, one gay, and everything else white or close to it...Make the playing field fair! Sorry Chima, I felt your frustration, but you did break the rules.

M L Brown -

Lydia ia part hispanic
Kevin is hispanic
Chima is african-american
Natalie is hispanic
Russell is lebanese

That's almost half the houseguests originally in. Of the ones remaining to this point, that's 57% non-white.

Why do we have to play the race card? Kevin is mixture of Asian and black. Russell has Lebanese in him. Lydia is bi. What is Nat, not exactly white in my opinion?

Sorry -
typing error on my 1st post:

I am asking myself why I watch this show. The group of whining, immature misfits is slowly being eliminated. Watching the effect that Jesse had on his girls only makes me glad they weren't around during the time of Charles Manson. Why don't we just start letting survivor castoffs enter the Big Brother house and film two stupid reality shows for the price of one?

Well said Val Turner. I've enjoyed watching BB over the years but with this season and last night's episode, I think I'm done with it.

Note to CBS: Please do your due dilegence and look deeper into these people's past and emotional states before you pick them. To me it's not entertainment for a bunch of immature misfits to bash and cus (with every other word bleeped out)each other for an hour.

It's pathetic to see Chima, Lydia, and Natalie whine and complain about Jeff using the Coup De'tat. It's a freakin GAME! Why do these folks sign up for this stuff? Chima whining about wearing a microphone or being told to go to the diary room, it's in the contract you moron...I'm just going to pout, break all the rules and get kicked off the show because things did not go my way...it's truly pathetic how immature some of the houseguests are (see definition: Natalie). Jeff is playing the game well, he deserves to make it to the end. All the whining houseguests should read carefully:
Jeff is PLAYING the GAME well.

P.S.

To the person who brought up the minority/race card, how can you say something so silly? What's wrong with a white person winning the show? Does that bother you? I dont care what color the winner is. You should be happy as long as they played the game well , regardless of their color or race.

I think one day Lydia and Natalie are going to look over the show tapes and be embarrassed for the way they've acted.

I'd count Jessie in there too, except I don't believe he's capable of honest self-examination that doesn't involve maintaining his bloated sense of self.
