'Bachelorette' finale: Who'd Jillian pick?

I'm no big fan of The Bachelorette, but I figured I better check out the finale in case anything exciting happened.

Eh.

First Jillian rejected some guy with the unfortunate name of Kiptyn. Then some rejected guy named Reid came back and proposed, and Jillian cried and stuff and said no.

Then she picked some guy named Ed, whom she claimed was her "best friend." (Which feels more like, you know, best friend from summer camp or something since they haven't known each other that long. But whatever.)

He proposed.

SHE SAID YES!

Yawn.

I usually like your posts about other reality shows, but this one made me wonder: if this woman doesn't watch or enjoy this show, why is she writing an article about it?

When you call the winner "some guy named ed" and say "she cried and stuff", it feels like you're talking down to all the bachelorette fans out there. I'm certainly not saying everyone needs to love the bachelorette, I'm just saying I'd like to read about it from someone who at least WATCHES it.

As someone who follows the show, I'd love to hear a second opinion about tonight's finale from another fan (whether it be a negative opinion or a positive one), rather than from someone who doesn't care. Maybe pass this task on to someone else next time.

SKK: Your criticism is totally fair. I wanted to find a guest blogger, but I didn't have time. (This blog is not -- even remotely -- my full-time job at the paper.) I felt like I needed to say something about the finale, and my take was maybe a little too far on the snarky side. *shrug* But I totally understand getting into these shows -- I wouldn't do this blog otherwise. Didn't mean to dump on those who do watch this show -- the main target of my mockery was supposed to be my inability to pay attention to this particular show. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

omg ... i want to meet Kiptyn
he was the best.
ugh

Good choice, Jillian!! May you and Ed have a long lasting relationship!!

Wow, someone at ABC doesn't like Jillian. Terrible pic.

I grudgingly watch this with the wife (getting credit for quality time), but there are enough cringe/laugh worth moments to make it interesting. Do you think enough people know by know that Ed was a complete zilch on their overnight date? Good lord woman, I'm sure he won't have any performance anxiety issues after all that buildup.

Ed was the solid, if unspectacular choice for Jillian. It didn't seem like Kiptyn, or however you spell his name, was really into her. And Momma Kiptyn certainly wasn't welcoming some boozy floozy into her Housewives of O.C. house with open arms!

It struck me as a little odd that she supposedly found true love and the man of her dreams, then Reid shows up and suddenly she's confused and doubting herself and needs advice from Chris Harrison. Give Reid a hug and send him quickly on his way if you're sure of yourself.

I was glued to the TV set all season! I really had wanted Jillian to pick Kiptyn because I thought their energy and zest for life was much more aligned than her and Ed. I sometimes thought Ed has a bit of a “too hallmark” card aura to him. Everything sounded too perfect and too rehearsed. Though in the end the show was awesome, lots of surprises and shockers. Hello, WES!? Can you believe you know who came back last minute to propose! Wow I cant wait for tonights reunion show!

Check out these awesome pictures I found of the show and finale and more!! Enjoy….

Hey Sarah, Thanks for owning up to the criticism. You made the quickest comeback in history in my heart (my grudge lasted just a third of a page).

SKK: Hee hee. You are welcome. I think I was feeling a *tad* burned out Monday night.
