Taylor Hicks joins 'Grease' tour

And yet another American Idol alumnus heads to the stage. Season Five winner Taylor Hicks will be at the Hippodrome Theatre for the national tour of Grease (*Reader Alisa says he'll only be in the Feb 3-8 shows, though the production runs through Feb. 15). He'll star as Teen Angel ... and, honestly, I haven't seen the movie or musical in years, and cannot for the life of me remember who Teen Angel is. Does he sing "Beauty School Dropout?" Get your tickets here, if you are so inclined.

Yes, Teen Angel sings Beauty School Dropout. I have seen the show on Broadway 3 times in the past year. It is great. Very nostalgic and fun. It takes your mind off your troubles for a couple of hours. Nothing wrong with that. Don't be so cynical, Carla.

By the way, Taylor Hicks was playing Teen Angel in Grease on Broadway when I last saw it. He is worth the price of the ticket all by himself. He lights up the stage. I was pleasantly surprised, having been a big fan of the previous Teen Angel, Stephen Buntrock. I must admit, Hicks had much better chemistry with Frenchie, and his voice and style are much better suited to the song.

Go see the show. You'll have a lot of fun.

I agree with the first poster! Taylor is definitely the STAH of the show and the reviews in each city have been glowing!!!!!!!!! I'm seeing him when the show hits California and I can't wait!!!

Hicks is actually only going to be in the Feb 3-8 shows. So if you're going to see him in particular, make sure you plan accordingly.

I want to see Grease in Chicago with Taylor Hicks. Does anyone know if he will be in the Wed. 2:00 afternoon matinee on Jan. 14?

I saw Taylor Hicks in Grease in Minneapolis and If I could afford it I would of seen it each of the times he was in it. He defintely makes the show. He is also sweet and loving in person also. If you belong to the fan club be sure to check out his sight for meet and greets they only allow 6 people per meet and greet but well worth the cost.
