'Project Runway': Does this shout Olympic athlete to you?

I have to confess: I am so stressed out that I forgot to watch my favorite show last night. I'll try to catch it ASAP and recap. Until then, take a look at this design. The challenge was to create a look that an athlete could wear during Beijing's opening ceremonies. Most designers went with sporty and modern. What was Jennifer thinking? Perhaps J.Crew would be interested? (Jennifer was sent packing, by the way.)

The person who should have won, Joe, didn't win. The winning outfit fit the parameters of the competition, but Joe's outfit was better.
The other designers bombed. Using their "vision" is more important to them then actually listening to the judging structure.
The above outfit is not the only one that made no sense last night.

Susan! Nice to see you out and about.

About Sarah Kelber
Sarah Kickler Kelber, an editor in the features department since 1999, got sucked into reality TV with the first episode of MTV's The Real World in 1992. Then came Survivor and American Idol, and suddenly, the genre was everywhere. She started blogging about it for The Baltimore Sun in January 2006 and has logged more hours watching and writing about such shows as Dancing With the Stars, Big Brother and, of course, Idol, than she'd like to admit.
