'Dancing With the Stars': Week 6 results

It's another strange episode of Dancing With the Stars, as Jane Seymour is missing thanks to a case of suspected food poisoning that seems to have appeared right before show time.

They'd already prepared to reprise the group dance, so during the performance, her partner Tony Dovolani kind of runs around the stage doing their moves by himself.

Barry Manilow the comes out to perform, and I really feared seeing him up close in high-def. His face is so smooth, it looks like he made a deal with the devil.

Then some reveals: Mel and Maks are safe, as are Jane and Tony. Maks is runs over and hugs Tony in Jane's absence -- and Tony is shocked. Good reason since they were in the bottom two couples last week and came in last place last night.

Next, some performers come out and dance to preview the kind of choreography that will be seen on Bruno and Carrie Ann's new show.

Barry Manilow comes back out and sings "Mandy" with some dancers accompanying him.

More results: Helio and Julianne are safe, Cameron and Edyta are in the bottom two, Jennie and Derek are safe, Marie and Jonathan are safe, and Sabrina and Mark are in the bottom two.

Wow, my predictions of Jane and/or Marie were totally off.  The judges are flabbergasted that Sabrina (the most consistent, says Bruno) and Cameron (the most improved, he goes on) are the bottom two stars.

Leaving the competition are Sabrina and Mark. WHAT? I guess the Cheetah Girl voters didn't come through, but this is unreal. She's been remarkably awesome and is WAY better of a dancer than almost everyone remaining -- if not everyone. I really thought she was probably going to win it.

What do you think about this result? Are you as shocked as the audience, the judges and your blogger?

its amazing how the best is eliminated. thats outrageous. i love marie osmond and jane seymour, but they should of been eliminated. not sabrina. she was one of the best. shame on the viewers.

This latest voting result turns the whole competition into a jobke

I am totally stunned. I suppose everyone thought Sabrina was a shoo-in for the final and did not vote. It's the first week I didn't vote myself. Well I'll be sure not to vote for Jane or Marie next week.

No, I'm not shocked. Sabrina was a professional dancer, which gave her an unfair advantage versus her fellow competitors. I read Seymour's whiny little rant this morning, and I hope she is out next.

i really think that theres a major screw up on the show. first smantha messes the whole marie thing up by going to a alleged commercial then theres no immediate commercial break hmmmmm thats weird then they come back and instead of telling marie the news they put all four coup[les back together. something strange is going on perhaps its time to bring back drew lache

I can't believe Sabrina was eliminated last night. She definitely was the best dancer and one of the most fun to watch. It is amazing to me that Jane and Marie are still dancing and Sabrina was the one to go. What a disappointment.

i can't believe last nights program. There is no way Sabrina should have left the show. Marie or Jane should have left. Neither danced very well. I think Sabrina was a threat to the others and they wanted her gone.

I will no longer watch Dancing with the Stars.

Sabrina and Mark are and will always be the BEST Daner in my mind. I and many of the people I have asked said the same thing. WOW, SABRINA was and is and AWESOME dancer. We love her.

Val

Maybe this was a backlash against her obvious dancing background?

Yes, SHAME on the viewers. When did this show become a popularity contest??? Marie ought to step down and give her undeserved place to the best dancer Sabrina. Amazing (and pathetic) how many votes fainting and personal tragedies can get someone.

My personal opinion is that this was a vote against Carrie Ann. Jane and Marie got sympathy votes. Sabrina is the best dancer and should have been in the finals.

I agree....Marie or Jane should have been kicked off the show. This just goes to show that whoever gets the most votes stays in the competition whether they deserve to be there or not.

This is the problem I have with the show, the fan vote, or lack there of, count too much in the voting. Remember Master P. a few years ago, his fans kept him in way too long. I think they need to look at the voting structure.

I really think that it is a shame that Marie is still on the show. She has not done one thing to WOW anyone or thing in the competition....my god she can barely bend backwards at times!! Just because she still looks good for an older lady does not give her the right to take a persons spot in the competition who is really trying to show the viewers what they can learn and retain as a dancer.

The whole show turned out to be a joke. I think they go by sympathy and tragedy rather than how good and talented they are.

didn't anyone listen to Donny Osmond's take on it all BEFORE the show began? yes, Sabrina DID very much have an unfair advantage over the others because she IS a professional dancer/choreographer. 'Nuff said! I enjoyed watching her dance, as she was really good - but this is supposed to be a competition among inexperienced dancers. With Sabrina out, I think Mel will win. I'm not saying I like her best, but I think she has improved the most, and is the most consistent.

Each week we eagerly anticipated the enjoyment of watching Dancing with the Stars. Sabrina and Mark were brilliant and, by far, the best on the dance floor. Well, after last night, "The thrill is gone," waltzing right out the door with Integrity and Sanity.

Since this show is obviously a popularity contest, why have judges at all?

ABC lost credibility and many viewers, including us, with this debacle. I would hope this is a wakeup call for the show's producers to rethink the scoring formula before they lose sponsors and more viewers.

This show has gone from our "A" list to our "F" list. ("F" = Farce)

I guess those of us who DIDN'T vote are to blame for this situation. Of course, Sabrina would win had we all voted for her and not been so apathetic. Shame on us!

Sabrina should have never been on the show, she is already a dancer! It's way more entertaining to see stars that start out with no idea what they are doing, like Mark or Helio, then to see people who are already dancers just get better. Glad to see her go.

There is actually an online petition over this:

http://www.petitiononline.com/dwtssm/petition-sign.html?

I am outraged by this!!! I tryed to call in my votes from the time Sabrina started to dance and the line was "busy" I dont understand how she did not continue if there were that many people voting for her that I could not even cast a vote. I do not think this is fair at all.

You all seem to forget
the set-up of the show,which I for one,don't agree with:the
50% audience voting tally. It is a competition for dance but it is a popularity contest too!
Personally I'm betting next year the contestants will be chosen more carefully as to having no background in dance and I'm sure they will alter the voting procedure.I didn't think marie or Jane were the best but I did think they
tried hardest ,gave it the more passion(especially Marie) and
didn't have the red check
of being a"CHEETAH"
against them.So....
consequently I voted for
everyone but Sabrina!

Shocking - Of course!, she was technically one of the best dancers the show has seen.

Pleased - Absolutely! I couldn't take anymore of this Cheetah Girl nonsense. Besides, there were times I felt like I was watching Miss Piggy and the Muppets.

Please keep in mind DWTS is primarily a show for Hot Chicks!

The show has now become a joke; it’s a dance show not a popularity contest of aging stars.

This is one family that will no longer be watching

Agree, this is a competition for stars with two left feets. I bet Mel B will be out too. Marie & Jane will follow, which leaves Cameron, Jennie or Helio competing for the trophy. That's show business.

Ok, honesty check, how many of you who have complained about the voting actually voted ?? Did ya?? C'mon be honest!

It was a total embarresment that Sabrina was eliminated. There were two other lady dancers who should have certainly gone before Sabrina. Some how the rules have to be changed Possibly the judges have a 75% of the overall vote. That should provide a safe guard over what happened last night,

My wife and I were die-hard fans of the show until last night. Totally ridiculous. They have lost all credibility. Jane's dance on Monday was better than a sleeping pill. BORING!! Sabrina got robbed. More weight should be given to the judges scores. The show better look long and hard at their voting system or they are going to lose a lot of viewers.

Dancing With The Stars: Kristine in Kentucky
I'm a faithful viewer of Dancing With the Stars, but after last night's result I probably will not watch the program anymore. I can't believe the Marie is still on the show, and what happened last night to Sabrina is unfounded. This is not a real talent show obviously, but a platform for washed up performers to try and be in the lime light again.

If Marie was any kind of a person she should have stepped up last night and said that she was leaving in place of Sabrina. But no ....she thinks she is as good as the remaining performers and that is a joke. She is using this as a way to make herself feel better, and keep from being depressed again.

I think the judges need to grade her with 3's, because they know she can't dance. It would be the only way to offset the stupidity of the people voting for her.

Its a shame that the others work so hard and bust their asses off to give a program that is full of risks. She comes on and waves her skirt and gets voted ahead of them..... I feel sorry for the other performers because they can all see what their fate is going to be.

The show won't last, because people like me will choose not to view it anymore.

I'm shocked at the results of last nights show. My daughter and I can't wait for Monday and Tuesday nights to watch, we never miss a show. This shoudn't be a popularity contest, the judges should have the ultimate decision. The show has now become a joke to me and I no longer have the desire to watch.

WAKE UP PEOPLE !!!!!!

THIS IS A TALENT CONTEST NOT A POPULARITY CONTEST.

I LIKE JANE AND MARIE TOO BUT THEY ARE NOT THE BEST DANCERS,ONE OF THEM SHOULD HAVE GONE....

Yes, Sabrina was/is a professional dancer; so what. There were no rules stipulating that those who have a background in dancing could not enter. Therefore, it should not be held against her. I'm willing to bet that even if most of those left had had any training as such (BTW Jane took ballet) they still wouldn't have been as good as Sabrina. You've either got it or you don't ... and she HAS IT.

I cannot believe sabrina left. She was one of the best dancers in the competition along with mel and max. i was shock the day i watched it and i could not believe it. Jane should of gone home not sabrina. She was the best.

I will not be watching the show anymore. As for Sabrina having dance background, it's my understanding there have been celebs on previous shows with dance backgrounds. Doesn't Jane Seymour's early years of ballet count as dance background? Sabrina isn't a "bean pole" like most contestants, but she is cute and bubbly and that girl can really dance!

I am shocked...Sabrina was awesome, will be sad to see that great smile gone! This totally threw me, ay yay yay!

I have never formally commented on any shows in the past, but this is outrageous. I thought this was a competetion not a popularity contest.
What's the point of watching? The judges opinions should override the popular vote.

I am so glad to see that Jane and Tony made it to the next round. I hope that they will be thinking the next time, and not try to do a dance that is meant for someone in their late 20's or 30's. I do realize she is very young looking for her age, but I have the same problem. She should stay on the very elegant looking dances. Thank you for letting Sabrina go, she dances professionally for money, and like others have stated, she should not have made it this far. Go for it Jane and Tony next week. I will be watching.

Last nights results were ridiculous. This is a dance competition not a popularity contest. As much as I like most of the remaining contestants there are a couple that definitely should have gone long before Sabrina. She is incredible and regardless of what dance experience she has - ballroom is a whole other world. ABC definitely needs to re-think the scoring.

On all of these made for TV talent contests, including American Idol, perhaps the fan voting should be for the person that is liked the least. There is probably be a greater concensus of who should be thrown off than who should stay.

Uh people....she was a pro. Had no business on the show to begin with. I hope Mel is next then we can have a fair contest. I love this show.....and you'll all be watching again.

That's it! I am done with this show. What a joke! ABC needs to look at the scoring process after this season. There is no way the public should get 50% of the vote. Sabrina is the best female dancer the show has ever had. (she's at least in the top 3 with Lisa and Stacey) Monday nights will now be spent watching NBC....

Ok the person that wrote this:

"Please keep in mind DWTS is primarily a show for Hot Chicks!"

needs to get a life. Yes, professional dancers are thin and have great bodies - that's because of the incredible amount of work that goes into being a professional dancer. Sabrina kept up with them and if she wasn't anorexic then good for her.

I enjoy watching the stars who clearly have no dance background. I enjoy watching Helio, Cameron and Jenni. Mel B, Sabrina and even Marie are all performers who have received dance training at one time or another.

I can't believe another blog with whinner's that are stomping their feet and are not going to watch because Sabrina got booted, it's ABC's fault, it's this person's fault, did ya'll give her the 7 votes you're allowed?. Quite frankly she was the best dancer, because she is a DANCER....Sad to see her goes yes, a tragedy...Ummmm NO. The world will not end people...So glad to see the cry babies have decided not to watch anymore. It's a show..show..show YOU all decide, I voted....my people didn't get voted off..

I am a die-hard fan of the show but this year I am really disappointed in the voting. This is a Popularity Contest not a Dancing Contest.... Marie and Jane are lovely people but they are NO MATCH for Sabrina or the others. They need to change the voting......... or the "Show won't go on"

I understand that people like to see their favorite star still in the hunt for the big win. But cmon now folks Sabrina Bryan was without a doubt the BEST dancer. (she was robbed) But this show has in the pass let the worst dancers win. Such as the season with Emmit Smith I like him since I am a cowboy fan but he was Not the best dancer. They might as well get 10 Stars and just have the public vote who do you like the best WITHOUT the dancing since that is what is has come out to be.

I have often said that DWTS is a popularity contest rather than a dancing competition (remember Master P?). Sabrina did not deserve to go, but people did not vote for her. . I hated it because she is by far the better dancer over Jane or Marie - one of them should have gone. I am pissed and have doubts of watching anymore.

I believe the viewers should not have such a high percentage in voting. This is not a popularity contest. I believe that Sabrina should still be on the show. Sabrina and Mark were the best ones. It makes me not want to watch it any longer. I think there should be a revote. Such a shame.

Too bad Sabrina didn't have any problems or drama during the show maybe she would still be on!!

After Sabrina was voted off, I am DONE with this show! How many people are going to stop watching now? Let's hear from you!!!
ABC- are you reading???

Sabrina is a great dancer, but she brought a "LOOK AT ME!!" energy to her dancing that got old for me really quickly. I'm glad she's gone.

The rules are you cannot have formal ballroom dancing training. As far as I know, you can be a hip hop dancer. Let's face it, it's not the same thing at all. The same argument could be (and was) made regarding Drew Lachey, Mario Lopez and Joey Fatone who all received some level of dance training during their stints on television and as member of boy bands. The same could be said for Mel B. and her days with the Spice Girls.

The point is just because you're a dancer (or have taken dance classes in the past) doesn't mean you should be excluded from competing. Who would have thought brash Mel B. would dance so gracefully during her Viennese Waltz? She had to learn that just like everyone else.

The fact is Sabrina deserved to be on the show just like any other contestant. She should have definitely been in the finals and other competitors like Jane and Marie who are not physically up to the task deserve to be voted off. It's as simple as that.

It seems voters prefer to reward mediocrity instead of talent or real progression on this program or in other talent competitions as well. Remember Constantine Maroulis and Chris Daughtry from American Idol? They were inexplicably voted off while less talented contestants went on to the finals.

In a nutshell, last night's debacle is a symptom of what's wrong with this society's mentality. Popular and sympathy votes over rewarding talent. How shameful indeed. Let's keep competitors around because we fell sorry for them. Pathetic!

I didn't even know Sabrina had any dancing experience and was WOWED the first time I saw her on the dance floor. This isn't a competition of JUST INEXPERIENCED dancers--its a competition FOR dancers. So what if she had some prior training--I'm sure Janes ballet helped her some too. but really folks, the best dancers should win, not the most popular people. They all work hard every week and I admire them for that.

It's unfair. Sabrina was a professional dancer. She and Mark did a great job. I couldn't believe how the American people voted. I would NOT continute to watch the show.

After last night's debacle, I'm done with DWTS. What killed me most was the judge's righteous indignation that Sabrina should have stayed, when it was THEIR VOTES that put her near the bottom.

No more. I'm DONE.

After reading all the comments, I agree that everyone assumed Sabrina would stay - she has a huge fan base, but then they all assumed someone else was voting for her and decided to give their votes to more "needy" dancers. Putting all the drama aside, we need to vote for the ones that have shown us how hard they are working. Marie and Jane know their time is limited, that why they are acting out with their dramas. They are no fools. Maybe this should be called Acting on the dance floor - If there is anyone still watching next week - it will be a miracle. The show definitely needs new guidelines.

come on people, its a reality show, just like the billions of other reality shows out there. its not the end of the world that sabrina got voted off, was i shocked by it, of course, but i'll tune in again on monday just like i always do. and for everyone that has personally attacked jane or marie get a life. they all put in hours of work on top of family obligation, and work oligations. i seriously doubted sabrina would win from the beginning, most likely it will be mel.

All the contestants were "professionals". None of them were professional "ballroom" dancers. Jane and Marie had some exposure to dance in their past too. Sabrina should not have been penalized for her "hip hop" experience. It was her work ethic and practice that produced her fantastic performances. I think the judges were too critical (and do that purposely to mix up the results). Obviously they gen'd it up too much with their critical comments. Performers shouldn't be staying on because they took a tumble or have had personal tragedy. The rest of the season won't be fun to watch now.

I have watched dancing with the stars and American Idol since the beginning. One thing that happens on these shows is people assume the best is being voted for from other people. They take the whole voting concept for granted. It is too bad but we have seen this on both shows so many times. If you like someone VOTE for them.
Patty

What happened to the public making the decisions? I don't think saving the bottom 2 were any of our options. I think that what ABC did was terrible to one of the top 2 dancers.

Sabrina is not the first "pro". Both Drew and Joey had dancing backgrounds. The voting structure has to change - the judges 75% and votes 25%. This is not a popularity or sympathy competition.

Sabrina has hip hop training, not ballroom dancing, so that isn't a fair argument.

I //was// a diehard fan of the show. I WILL still continue to watch, but I am furious. Sabrina WAS the BEST dancer. She was powerful. Yes, she needed some work, but she was great.

I think that Marie and JAne should go. Period. ESPECIALLY Marie. Marie should have said to Sabrina, no, I'll go in your place. Marie stinks. Since Sabrina isn't there anymore, my votes are going to Jennie and Helio. Period.

Also, I would suggest that you all sign the petition. Who knows, maybe ABC will review it.

Enough of the professional dancer stuff. You don't think Mel B as a "Spice Girl" was choreographed or trained to dance for shows and Marie was singing and dancing her whole life especially way back when Donny and Marie had their variety show, she's not incompetent in that field either. Sabrina did it better. The Cheetah girls aren't a dance troupe, they are a "girl band" that happens to dance very well. I do think the suggestion of having the judges scores count as 75% of the vote does level the playing field.

I think this show is great---I agree Sabrina was great and much better than some that are left--but this is voted on by the people and the people who cared enough to vote got their people voted to stay--everyone has the same opportunity to vote. Maybe the show should have some age divisions next time--I don't think the span between the youngest and the eldest is fair. Say 18-35 and then 36-56 and maybe even an 57-up. That would make it fairer for everyone--compete against your own aged people. Just my opinion! I love the show and will continue to watch.

I agree with everyone that Marie or Jane should have been out. I had Sabrina in the top 3, and more than likely winning this competition. It is totally a popularity contest when you involve America to vote. The only people that should be voted on every week are the 2 couples in the bottom of the leader board from the judges vote. Let America decide which of those 2 should stay on. It's ridiculous how they get rid of good performers. Maybe next time they'll figure out a better voting system. If Marie or Jane wins this because they have a bigger "fan" base, I'll quit watching it, and so will a lot of other people!

This IS a popularity contest, otherwise the judges would make all the decisions.
By allowing the general public to vote numerous times, the rules make it popularity. Who does the public like the best? For whatever reason the public did not vote for Sabrina. I think Marie and Jane have done incredible jobs, especially considering they are competing against much younger/limber dancers

I feel like Sabrina did a great job as did Mel and Jennie. Jennie flubbed a little. Sabrina's was a bit choppy. Mel did the best. I do not think that Marie and Jane did NOT dance well; in fact, they just barely danced at all. I believe the choreography simply did not showcase their dancing abilities. The same goes for Helio and Cameron. The choreography showcased the dancing partners much more than the stars.

I'm glad Sabrina was eliminated. I have to say this is only the second season I've watched, but I like it when I see someone who isn't a dancer win. It's not fair when someone who knows how to dance is in the competition. Last year, I was glad to see that Joey Fatone didn't win. Also, Drew Lache's(?) wife is a choreographer! Come on!

Voting off Sabrina was the most ridiculus thing I have ever seen. She was by far the best of all the celebrities and I picked her to win. I can't believe the public is so stupid. There had to be some errors in the counting of the votes. I will no longer watch the show.

I'm not sure why so many people are saying that Sabrina is a professional dancer! She's no more of a professional than Joey Fatone last season. She just happens to be a very talented performer and singer. Who else is a talented performer and singer (Marie Osmond)? The show lost me as a viewer last night. This is nothing more than a popularity contest!

I'm still trying to get over the billionaire leaving!! I did see the Sabrina debacle coming. I called a friend before the show to tell her Sabrina would leave. She didn't believe me, but I got to have the last word!! Isn't this fun?? Peggy

After all the past seasons, doesn't everyone know that the judging and voting is not who's the best but who is more popular.? It's the same each season, the not so good hang on while the good ones get voted off. I watch just for the dancing now as each year I get so disappointed!!

I think the voting rule is not the best. If people decide the result, should we need judges???

"The voting structure has to change - the judges 75% and votes 25%. " --- I agree, or other %.

This show will be pretty boring without Sabrina. Who cares that she has a dance background, ballroom dancing is totally different. The fact that she has some natural rythm (unlike Jane or Marie) makes her bearable to watch. I think the judges are partly to blame too, they were always too hard on her and Helio. They were always alot better than others but the judges didn't always reflect their scores that way, I think they are trying to make it seem like it's a closer competition than it is. I can't watch anymore of the Jane and Marie show, it bores me to tears!! They should do a "best of" dwts next year and bring Sabrina and her gorgeous partner Mark back!

It's been said before, if the show was strictly about dancing (and not popularity), it would be on PBS.

Sabrina was good, definitely not the best, very jerky at times, perhaps her intensity overflows......

I also think she was voted off as a backlash against her dancing background. It's the same reason Mario didn't win - viewers don't think it's fair. Next year the producers should make sure no-one has any dancing experience period.

How many phone lines do they have? I've tried countless times and could never get thru. It is next to impossible to vote for your favorite dancers. Sabrina should not have been voted out. She was the best dancer by far.

she didn't dance a foxtrot! don't know what it was, but it wasn't a foxtrot - therefore it was right she was voted off - you are only as good as your last dance!

Jane Seymour? Come on... she is not what the others are.. it is past time for her to go.

This is UNBELIEVABLE. Without a doubt, Sabrina had the most potential and always came out as one of the best dancers. I expected her to be THE finalist. I voted for Mel with all my votes because I figured Sabrina had it made anyway and I wanted to see Mel continue. Not that I made too much of a difference, but darn. I guess quite a few people must have done the same thing that I did, voting for their second favorite because they figured Sabrina was sure to go on. I don't think i will watch this show anymore.

Truly a travesty. Sabrina is truly a talented and vivacious young woman. Her background is NOT ballroom so her other experience is not relevant. Those who are glad to see her leave are just bitter middle-aged women who wanted to be dancers and despise her for her youth and guts. Jane Seymour couldn't be there for the convenience of not losing face when she was asked to leave. Marie Osmond....leave her alone. She's an institution and deserves to be on the show as long as she shows her ability to improve.

I am outraged! I believe the voting was stacked. Clearly one of the key dancers this season has been eliminated. I protest!! She is clearly one of the best.,

Sabrina was a contender/possible winner. Whoever wins will have an astrisk by the name on my scorecard. If the judges' scores aren't given more weight (75%) next year the scoring method will remain a farce. I prefer to see TALENT and hard work win.

GUYS WERE YOU THIS MAD WHEN HUDSON WAS VOTED OFF AMERICAN IDOL?Anyway tis is a REALITY SHOW HELLO.Get over it and move on....

Happiest I've ever been to see someone leave. Total ringer, and who the heck are the Cheetah girls anyway??? Isn't the idea to take Stars (or at least C rate celebrities) and teach them how to dance? Not just throw Disney's latest teeny booper out there in an effort to get them more recognition, and indirectly make ABC's bosses more cash? Good riddance.

I hate that Sabrina went home, she could have stayed until the end and she could have won this thing!!!!! Jane and Marie needs to go home not sabrina. I almost ddin't want to watch it again, so I don't know what to think any more!!!!!!!!!!!
