Resurrection hits the shelves

Just in time for the holidays, Resurrection, the potent, luscious double from Brewer's Art on Charles Street, is in a bottle and in area liquor stores.

Formerly available only on tap, the beer in a 750-milliliter bottle, secured by cage and cork, sells for $10 and is distributed by Bond.

I snagged a bottle at the Wine Source in Hampden, but was told by owner Dave Wells that the supply was limited.

I brought my bottle home, iced it down, then popped the cork. The same caramel and dark fruit flavors were there, followed by citrus. Great stuff. I did miss watching a bartender expertly fill a goblet, as is done at the Brewer's Art bar. But I muddled through, pouring a tall glass for myself.

The beer got its name when the yeast in the first batch died and was "resurrected." Over the years this beer has "resurrected" my spirits on many a Friday night.

Anyone else try this?

Resurrection is a favorite for any night out in Baltimore. Love that so many local places, even chains occasionally, have picked it up.

A tremendous beer, the best heavily produced (relatively speaking) beer in Maryland if you ask me.

AAAAhhhhhhh, yes!
Finally! Resurrection has landed in the bottle.
Just picked up a bottle at Swirl Wine in Timonium, and I'm looking forward to popping it open tonight.
The beer gods are smiling down on us.

Keep drinking.

Tried this on draft at Clyde's in Columbia a couple of years back. Truly a phenomenal beer.

Any chance you could update us on where the bottles are available? Will the Brewer's Art itself have the bottles for sale (to go)?

Anybody have a list of liquor stores that are selling Resurrection? I remember someone posting a comment with stores that were suppose to carry it on Sam Sessa's blog last month, but it was only a few.. none close by for me. Just wondering if any stores closer to Canton/Fells Pt are selling it?

Sounds like something you should have brought to the ICBE.....

Got a case at Wells last night, they had five cases left. Had a glass when I got home, made me feel like I was in the basement of brewers art sipping on a draft. Such a wonderful beer.

I was at Racer's Cafe last night enjoying a Resurrection. Stoudt's Winter Ale was another tasty one!

Just picked up a couple at Jason's in Ellicott City. I see Nattyboh mentioned Stoudt's Winter Ale. Has anyone seen that on the shelves this year?

Kasper -

Just thought I'd let you know (and all else) that the Resurrection is getting hard to find. I tried three different Towson-area liquor stores who were all sold out after just a few days of having the brew.

I wound up just driving to Brewer's Art and buying from the upstairs bar. The bartender had a few cases sitting right behind the bar with him. Quick, easy, no fuss. If it's not too far out of the way or you can do it on another trip, just stop by the pub itself.

In the dire chance that they run completely out of bottled Resurrection, just a heads up Brewer's Art does growler fills at the source, at least with their main beers (Resurrection, Beacon, Ozzy).

They take standard growlers which hold about four pints full.

Just picked up a case at the Wine Source in Hampden. Wells on York Road also has it in stock still. But prob not for long.

Wine Source had special Xmas hours on Sunday, so I snagged three bottles! Taking them home for the family gathering this week since I won't be in B'more to fill the growlers. I was surprised by the different nuances in bottled Ozzy and Ozzy on tap, so I'm looking forward to the new Resi experience.
