The Goose predicts: Colts over Ravens

The spinning beer bottle for this week is the Goose.

Not Tony Siragusa, the enormous defensive lineman who had that nickname when he played for the Ravens, but Wild Goose, an IPA brewed by our friends in Frederick, Md.

I recall some years ago when Wild Goose was brewed in Cambridge, Md. Since then, this goose and the whole Wild Goose line has flown west and landed in Frederick.

It is still a very hoppy beer.

Three spins of this goose predicted a Colts win over the Ravens in Indy this Sunday.

We shall see how true this goose flies.

Anyone ever visit the brewery when it was in Cambridge?

I used to like the Wild Goose very much---but for some reason I've moved away from it. Not sure why.

In any case, pox on the Wild Goose for going against the Ravens. Must be some Avian jealousy here, eh?

When the Ravens prove the Goose wrong, maybe its' time for you to pick the Raven Beer!

That was before my time, to be honest. I came to Maryland and the Brewing News long after the Brewery moved to Frederick. (I came to Maryland while the Frederick facility was still under state stewardship, not long before Flying Dog acquired the brewery).

If you haven't made it out to the Frederick facility, you should. It's a nice facility and the people are great.

Right now the FD people have Flying Goose with them at the Great American Beer Fest in Denver, working on getting the Goose some much deserved attention.

TIme to find a new bottle, Rob!
