Beer on the horizon for next two weekends

Quick reminder that Savor, the craft beer and food festival, is this weekend in Washington at Mellon Auditorium.  Advance ticket sales only.

Next weekend there is a food, wine and beer festival in Lancaster, Pa., featuring, among other brews, some beers from Victory Brewing and some from Bube's Brewery of Mt. Joy, Pa.

Anybody had a Bube's?

Actually went to Bube's a year or so ago and yes we had to ask how to pronounce the name and it is as it is spelt. This is an old PA brewery that shut down during prohibition as I recall. The current owners have done a great job at keep the tradition of making good beer. The have a nice selection of regular and seasonal beers. If you get to Mt. Joy take visit the museum and take the tour through the old brewery. Very nicely laid out. For a real treat have dinner in the catacomb. Enjoy!

Zoo Brew is on the 24th and the MD Spring Beer Festival in Frederick is May 31st.

I went to Brew at the Zoo last year and it cost $25 for the ticket. This year, the tickets cost $45 a piece! I know prices are going up, but that's a $20 increase in one year. Does anyone else find that to be a lot of money for beer tasting?

Stefanie,
I tried to go last year, but didn't get my tickets ahead of time. Got over there and saw the lines were ridiculous, but since I was already there and it was a nice sunny day, I figured I'd wait it out. I mean how long could it take...? About an hour and a half later, I had moved maybe half way to the ticket counter, and officials came out telling everyone they were out of beer and closing up shop. So...I'm guessing that the increase is (1) to keep away riff-raff who just want to guzzle as much as possible, and (2) to increase their supply. Either way, I think I'll be passing on it this year.
