South of the border beers
I am out of town for a few days, changing latitudes and maybe attitudes, as I spend time with relatives at Rocky Point, a spot in Mexico on the northern end of the Sea of Cortez.
My Spanish is limited, but I can say cerveza.
Anybody have suggestions for good Mexican beers?

Any and all will be better than drinking the water :)

I'm a fan of Negra Modelo and Pacifico. Have fun in Puerto Peñasco, I've heard nice things about it. I am a Baja Mexico person, myself.

My favorite Mexican beer is definitely Bohemia -- I think it knocks the other pale lagers out of the water.

Bohemia. The more laid back Germans brought their beer recipe when the moved to Mexico. A very good lager but often a little hard to find.

It may be hard to find Bohemia in the area you are visiting, as it is brewed by folks in Monterrey and the Mexicans can be as regional as we when it comes to their beers, although many brands are nationally distributed. Some breweries make darker beers that they do not send to the US - look for the word "Oscura" on the label. Have fun.

Dos Equis, dark, on draft is a very good beer.
