Spinning Beer Bottle final stats

One correspondent, TS, has asked how the spinning beer bottle did this football season.

It was a sub-par performer. In nine games, the spinning bottle correctly predicted the outcome of four Ravens games.

So its 4-5 record was not so much better than the Ravens final 5-11 tally. (I started spinning several games into the season.)

It came close to a .500 finish, but in the last week of December, the spinning Snow Goose bottle falsely predicted a Steelers win. And the Ravens, showing late foot, pulled out a victory. There is always next year. But next year I am going to change the lineup...

And spin more beers from out-of-town brewers. This might require road trips.

Are there more beers available in D.C. than Maryland?

How about in Pa.?

Any suggested spots to visit and load up with beers not found here?

As far as PA goes (I am no expert, just someone who likes good beer), I believe Troegs releases Nugget Nectar in February, which is something to look forward to. Also in Harrisburg is the Appalacian brewery, and if you havent tried anything from there yet, they produce a variety pack that gives a sample of what they do. (I enjoy the Hoppy Trails IPA and Mountain Lager). Lancaster Brewing (Amish Four Grain Ale) and Stoudts (Winter Ale- Seasonal) are also good. Definately get some Nugget Nectar

Also, the SelinsGrove Brew Pub (in Selinsgrove, PA 35 min north of Harrisburg on Route 11/15) is a great place to take growlers to fill. Hidden gem.

the store with the most selections around here (not exactly but still relatively nearby) that I've found is Corridor WIne and Spirits on rt. 198 off 295 in Laurel. They have a huge selection of beer from all over the world and they even sell them in individual bottles! Whenever I journey to DC, I try to stop by and buy a few different bottles that I've not tried before.
