Corkboard: What's your summer bar? Tiki Barge? Woody's?
It hasn't started feeling like Spring or summer outside yet, but I'm already getting e-mails from bars catering to the summer crowd.
The hearing over Tiki Barge's fate has been set for Thursday, where some of its neighbors will no doubt again complain about potted plants and say 'public urination' a thousand times.
Regardless of what happens then, manager Bud Craven has already set April 15 as the barge's opening day. Add that to the list of good Tax Day bar options.
Over in Fells Point, Woody's Rum Bar & Island Grill is already open for business. Its summer kick-off party is scheduled for April 23.
So when it's actually nice outside, which is your summer bar of choice?

I'm pretty sure Woody's has been open year round for awhile now.

Little Havana is a fun option in the summer

@foo: only since april 1, according to their most recent blast email anyway

@Maza - that's funny because I was there when they had the windows open in mid March when we had that unseasonably warm day.

@Rocky I was there February/early march myself, it's def. been open year round for at least the past year.

Definitely open year round, as proposed here: http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/entertainment/midnight_sun/blog/2009/12/woodys_to_be_open_yearround_ow.html
But maybe they're making a distinction between the summer bar and this:

Oh yeah, and to answer the question, the outdoor seating at Shucker's has been fun in the past.

definetly the tiki barge, i've never even been in the pool!
i like hanging out around the bar w/ the squirt guns and the unobstructed views of so much of the harbor - this' my fav place for easy living

Woody's has a nice view but bad service and truly overpriced food, Little Havana is great!

you tell via Woody's facebook page that it has been open throughout the winter - perhaps try going to bar instead of relying on email blasts

Little Havana for sure.

I have always been a sucker for Bay Cafe's Friday Happy Hours.

Re: Woody's
They were open on that random beautiful day in late Februray/early March, but they told us that they just opened because it was nice out and they wanted to take advantage of the foot traffic. They were only serving from Slainte's menu and I don't think they had the full bar open.
They were definitely open full time last winter, but I don't think they were this winter.

The Big Owl on Kent Island, Proud Mary's Dock Bar (at the Inn at Pirate's Cove) in Galesville, and Little Havana, of course.

Woody's Rum Bar and Island Grill is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday all year. The Slainte Menu is served in the winter. It is now open full time and serving the Woody's menu. April 23rd is the Season Opening party. Stop by for lunch on a sunny day. Best day drinking in Baltimore.
